Thanks for a true review. I think most people hated this movie before it came out. So it doesn't shock me that people were waiting to roast this one. However, I personally didn't think it was too bad. And that's coming from a kid that grew his hair out long because of the Crow. Memorized the original sound track. And even dressed up like the Crow for Halloween. But the movie did NOT try to to touch the nostalgia of the original. And because of that, I thought it definitely did it's own thing and had it's own charm. So I personally liked it. Despite some flaws.
For those who dont know the director of this Crow Movie even made a statement on twitter that he understands that you cant really do a Remake of The Crow he admits that he wasnt trying to top the Original He said that this Remake of the Crow was just his own take and his own idea of the character...
I’m a HUGE movie enthusiast especially horror movies, aspiring business owner and actress. I’ve already watched 29 new releases this year including the Crow remake. While it’s no where near the level of the original as I suspected it’s still a decent watch in my opinion. ❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed it. Didn’t compare it to the original. That will always be, but this movie was not bad at all. The pacing for me felt good for the movie. Though they did not explore too much of their past, you get a sense of the kind of lives they’ve lived. For the half of the movie, I felt like they’ve earned their chemistry. It’s a connection between too lost souls. Beautiful. The ending fight/violence was fun and worked for me. 7/10.
The Crow 94 is a top 3 all time movie for me. This was okay. It felt like its intention was to be a made for tv show I think it would have played out better over the course of 6-8 episodes. FKA Twigs was fantastic but they should have unleashed her more. Her vibe and aesthetic are very the crow. Why not have had her make original music for the movie and have her input on costumes and aesthetics. For instance the apartment they stayed at ultimately was too bright and vibrant for the crow. Also why was purgatory day time? It brightened up the overall aesthetic of the film when literally everything should be dark and gritty. Using NYC was also weird to me as the setting looked more modern than gothic. Where were the cathedrals, the gargoyles?
Just saw it, wasn’t that bad. The beginning was a bit slow and the relationship build up could’ve been better, but after that it was solid enough and some kool gory kills with that blade. I’d definitely watch it again once it hits streaming. The original is the best obviously tho.
I’m glad you gave the movie a fair chance. I’m not gonna lie, the trailer looks bad, but even if I find this movie bad, I doubt it’s going to be the worst movie ever. At best, it’s going to be mid or average.
7:24 - the “realistic approach” turns really crazy and twisted villains into… suits. Ôo I might give it a try (if it streams somewhere), but this fact alone dampens my expectations massively. #justsaying
Just saying; you have an awesome voice and accent :). And thanks for the review! I'm somewhat looking forward to the movie, but I'm definitely skeptic based on the style choice of Eric. I'm an old metal head so of course i'm partial to the old Eric. He was a good humane guy who cared about the people around him. But this new version, an addict with attention seeking hair and tattoos on his face that screams self pity, doesn't really make me care for him or his destiny.
Thank you! 😁 Yeah , it is very different take on the character. And the soundtrack. As a fellow metal head and musician I preferred the original, but contrary to what a lot of people say, it is good. Different but good :)
I don't understand Hollywood anymore. Isn't it so much easier to do a "good" satisfying crow movie (or revenge story) than to come up with this empty waste of potential? Just start with a crow and not a horse (i know, its in the comics), fly through a gothic city (not gotham city) and get right to the action with the reborn Eric 2.0. Put some characters in which make us care, and not junkies that bang all the time and know each other for just a week. some good music. Voila. ;) Greetings from germany and thanks for the video ;)
The remake is an embarrassing hilarious self owning piece of crap, it doesn't touch Brandon Lee's legacy if anything it points new comers to watch and enjoy the original , everyone says Brandon lee would be rolling in his grave but honestly I believe Brandon Lee would laugh his ass off at this remake, it was made with the intentions of being disrespectful to the original and its creator but only ended up self owning and disrespecting themselves while losing a shit ton of money and displaying how creativly bankrupt and talentless they are today hilarious.
I watched it last night and yea it's not that great I would say it's as bad as the crow Wicked payer and the crow 2024 ending wow 😂 movie on for 1 hour and 40 mins and it takes like 50 mins to get so what good 😂
I haven't seen the original one, nor the remake. I'm usually not a big fan of remakes in general, so I might just need to watch the original sometime :p but GREAT VIDEO!!!
to my mind, Detroit is as much a character as any of the main characters from the original Crow. Seeing this film take place in what looks like Prague just doesn't work for me. James O'Barr's comicbook had a lot to do with poverty and classism and i don't see that in the trailer. i hope it's good, but my expectations are low and i don't think i'll be seeing it in the theater.
The comics have nothing to do with poverty or classism. It’s about a guy and his fiancee who are killed by street thugs when their car breaks down and he’s resurrected by a crow and seeks revenge. It’s very emo and goth oriented. When he’s not killing the thugs he’s crying inside his apartment and cutting himself. Did you even read the comics.
I saw the Crow on May 13th 1994 and it remains one of my favorite movies of all time. I saw the new "Crow" at screening last week and hated everything about it. Eric and Shelly's story has already been told perfectly and this just felt wrong and left a horrible sour taste in my mouth. Yes Bill admitted he was playing Eric Draven months ago until Lionsgate got scared and got rid of the last names due to fan outrage. Well too late. They are still Eric and Shelly and I did not care one bit about their love story. The Villain(s) also are hollow and boring. THe action obviously copied from John Wick but also a complete failure and arriving too late. Plus the absolutely horrible exposition having them explain Eric's "Mission". I hated it and am so glad it is going to fail bigtime this weekend and be forgotten about by Halloween. This movie should have never been made and using Eric and Shelly is an obvoius Cashgrab nostalgia bait but it fails in the biggest way possible. Many of the original fans have a deep personal connection to the Crow and this movie is a disrespectful piece of hot garbage. Other than that it was great!
Yeah but Tobey didn't get killed in real life while making Spiderman, and Spiderman is a way bigger IP than The Crow. They could had called this "The Crow: (something something)."
@@TimmyJay02Brandon Lee dying doesn’t mean you can’t make another crow movie. If that was the case then crow “city of angels” and the other sequels as well as the tv show wouldnt have been made. You weren’t even born or around when the original came out. And guarantee you’ve never read the comics.
Objectively, without comparison to the original or the comic, this a fucking horrible movie. The editing is crap. The soundtrack is mind boggling awful. The editing is........who edited this piece of crap? Never let them work again. The story is half-assed and thrown together. Everything about this film is horrible. Even the opera scene. The characters are non-existent. It's just a bad movie period.
@@leviathan3k2000 What is it like to have such low standards? I can't begin to imagine that. This movie blows in that special way that only a straight wind over a burning garbage dump can.
It is not the new take, it is the bad storytelling that we don't like such movies. A new take with good story telling would be truly honoring the old classics. So far this is not happening and this Crow is worst of them all.
