not that asmongold did anything wrong, just wish that asmongold had 100 different bodies and played all the games in the market, also i was shocked that xqc beat lies of p within like 20 hours in a rather swift fashion.

Honestly, I don't think someone needs to finish or even play all the games on the list to be allowed to vote and have that vote be considered legitimate. After all, we don't have all the time in the world to play all the games to completion. For example for me the Indie game of the year: Out of those six games, after watching other people play them, only a single one seemed interesting enough to make me want to give it a try. If only one of them seemed good enough to make me want to try them out, should that not be proof enough that, for me at least, the others are instantly disqualified for getting my vote?

Yeah it caught my eye on the list and I looked into it and it seems really interesting! I know its a roguelite shooter so I immediately thought of Returnal. Is it anything like that? If so I definitely want to give it a try

@@Gromper7878 havent played returnal but the gameplay is probably very different. imagine rogue-lite pegi 12 doom on speed.

Try arena commander for drop in star citizen sessions. And we still got a long way to go to complete the game. Still missing a few game loops, and quite a few professions, but I'm glad your having fun with what we do have.

The game itself is vastly underrated tbh Honestly, if the game can streamline its overall structure and tutorial it's lowkey a staple of the genre, just like PoE is for ARPGs.

I think one of the reasons is that the game is very difficult for new players to get in simply because of how overwhelming it can be for new players. So not a lot of new players get in, which means not a lot of people would know about it. I wanna get back in but man I dread thinking about the amount of missed contents I would have to go through

Eh, not especially, the game's community has been on the decline overall, still good, just nothing like fresher games out there.

OTK's VGA is valid I guess. He probably doesn't like TGA because non of the games he played this year are nominated in GOTY category. For some of you guys don't know, he played Hogwarts, Remnants2, Lies of P, DiabloIV, FFXVI, Cyberpunk2077, Armored Core6, Jedi Survivor. He missed the GOTY by a mile.

@@Jamgcy TGA not having some titles on their lists probably sparked the idea for them, sure, but it's definitely not about if it's valid or not. Anyone can make their own GOTY list/voting. Personally I just find it funny how narrow Asmon's experience and knowledge about games in general are. You only have so many references, lol. Jokes aside though, I'm glad for his sake that he's been playing a lot of the new games that have come out this year.

The thing with Baldurs gate's world is that it already has established lore and is adapting it from the world of DnD 5e. You cannot change that world so large extents or else you stop being a DnD game. Heck the games name Baldurs gate is one of the most important cities in DnD and the game is named after the fact.

The ending is kinda meh tho

personally i think Phantom liberty should have been on that list, i loved the BG3 OST, but PL clears the board easily.

I have about 300 hours in BG3 and I can't recall any of the music like I could with DOS2. It is a great score but nothing I listen to over and over. Meanwhile I've listened to Phantom Liberty a zillion times. BG3 winning wouldn't bother me because they deserve all of the awards but the music hasn't grabbed me like it did with DOS2. A lot of Phantom Liberty did grab me.

Dispite the game coming out a mere 3 months ago every single song in the ost has made it to my most listened to songs this year Especially the leagacy of bhaal and "i want to live." And who could possibly forget Raphael's finale act

​@@jmalonemythwell thats ok since best music is subjective but as somone with nearly 500 hours on this game who jist veat it for the 2nd time and am going to start a new playthrough again i got to say that i had the opisite expirence having completely memorized the lyrics and melody of nearly every single song in that game because how good they were. First time i remember hearing "the leagacy of bhaal" i restarted my save just before the boss fight just so i could listen to it again. And now its my most listened to song of the whole year acourding to youtube music. Same goes with rapheal's finile act. It was one of the best momments in the game for a lot of people when the music kicks in and rapheal starts singing his own boss theme like a Disney villian. Hell even some of the lesser tracks like "twisted fate," or "gather your allies," or even "bard dance," were very memorable. All around it was a great ost in my opinion but you think differently thats Toatally ok though we all got our own tastes
