It's actually illegal to pay rent upfront. The Tenancy Law of Lagos State prohibits it and both the landlord who collects the rent and the tenant who pays such would be liable under the law

I just wanted to say that I have been looking for an apartment for 5 month and I couldn’t get anything I liked, this video really helped me cause I went on the site and could see full videos of the apartment before I even left my house and I got an apartment with an agent I meet here in few weeks😢 after a long while of searching, just want to say thank u for this detailed video the time and effort u out into it is not in vain. This video is detailed and insightful but the part where you spoke about inspection fee is very wrong You pay for consultation when you go to see a doctor right so why is it a problem to pay for inspection fee You have all this specification, what if you Dont take the house with them, how are they compensated, I personally Dont ask most times but after clients frustrate me omo I started making it clear, all in all awesome video🙌

Tenancy agreement is just rubbish,the estate I live in Abj and the landlord is just so greedy and wicked am tired...imagine u cant park cars in the compound and its vry big we dont have our own meter for light,we pay light and water to him am so done and looking for an apartment already jeez
