I remember this song very well, when I was in basic training for the Army, one of my buddies was from Guam, he would play this song over and over in the barracks, bring back memories of my youth,
The first record I ever bought!!!! And played it on my little record player, looking back, was red and white like a Fisher-Price toy and sounded just about the same lol. I love this song!
He was born in shoreham-by-the sea Sussex England but has been a Australian citizen since 2009.i had forgotten how many hits he has.try thunder in my heart there was a disco version done by neck in 2005 which the video has Leo in and can you believe his hair is bigger than the video you just watched😁
Love the way he sang this song. I remember it like it was yesterday. Celine Dion performed this years later and of course, most know how powerful her voice is.
Oh man, what a great song! I've loved this song since I was a kid.....and I grew up a hard rock/ metal fan! Great reaction S&M to one of my guilty pleasures! Lol
When I went to the record shop the white guy look at me so funny when I asked for album ,after paying I said "LOVE HAS NO COLOR "and I smiled and so did he.
We were high school sweethearts. This song was ours. LOL It wasn't uncommon in the 70s to not have a phone and we didn't have one so we couldn't call each other. We only saw each other at school until I turned 16 and could date. Our dating eventually turned into 44 years of marriage. Covid took him from me last year. This song made me cry so hard tonight as the memories of his young face came flooding back. I still love this song so much. I sure miss you babe.
Man I cry a lot at times hearing this, it helps I have a 1400 watt Yamaha stereo with 4 duel 12 old school technics speakers, It's very deep that loud , I love his song , I love you more than I can say. Anyone gonna do some Millie Jackson?? Lol
l have always been a fan since he first came out dressed in clown suit. Leo sayers just got better with time. the clown suit is embedded in my memory forever.
Back in the 70s Leo Sayer was one of my favorites. You need to check out you make me feel like dancing. And other songs by him. And the trip of it was back then a lot of record people said he did not have what it took to make it. I think he proved them wrong
Or... I Can Dance, also by Leo Sayer if you're not familiar with the song, I highly recommend giving it a listen at your earliest convenience.... Now that's a fun song
One of the absolute best pop ballads of the mid 1970s. Just as Leo was riding the wave of his brief popularity, I had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles and saw him live at The Troubadour Club in Hollywood. Standing room only. I turned to my right and within arm's reach I saw standing next to me was George Harrison of the Beatles. Unbelievable. Leo Sayer was as hot as hot gets in show business, albeit for only a little while. As soon as his star rose, it fell just as quickly, and I'm not sure why. Check out his debut hit, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing." It's just as much fun as "When I Need You" touches your heart. Both songs reached #1 here in the US. He had one other hit in America called "More than I Can Say" that peaked at #2. But after that, he only had one more single chart in the US, and it only made it to #23. Leo Sayer's star shone bright, but burned out almost as quickly. That said, his popularity in the UK was much greater and more long-lasting. Now in his 70s, he's still around and still performing.
Best reaction of this song I have seen, I love how you both feel the emotion and let the song flow. Gave me all the feels as if I as hearing it for the first time all over again.
I have watched pretty much everyone that has done reactions to songs on RU-vid and I can honestly say that you guys are awesome at giving reactions to good music. There are many out there that don't seem genuine and are boring. The chemistry between you guys is a perfect match (probably reason why you're married, lol). Keep doing these reactions because I love watching how you react to great music and that's what it is. Music today cannot touch the magic and gift of music, lyrics, and harmony from our past. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Ten seconds it took to like and subscribe. Lovers of love songs are my kind of Folks. Thank You both for bringing bac to my adolesences. What a blessing great tunes are. Thanks for taking me back in time!
S h a w n a n d m e l God almighty you guys are so good you're the best we know it the whole country knows it these reactors on RU-vid are not even close to you guys you guys are superstars super stardom is headed your way just let it come slowly and naturally you guys react so much better than anybody else it's just I mean there's no match he's just two are the best I'm speaking from the heart now my god I've never heard any reactors as good as you and I don't think I ever will and also Leo say or did another song you Make me feel like dancing that was great anyway you guys are number one number one to stay will always be number one
I want y'all to do some Zac Brown Band ...Cold Weather...is great...first time commenting I have a ton of music I would love you to hear...i love watching you both and the love between y'all is so sweet...
Moonlighting, is another great song by Leo ,about a young couple who elope across the border into Scotland so they can get married without parental consent .
Hi guys, I really enjoy watching your videos as I am watching you from the UK. Please listen to Thunder in my heart by Meck featuring Leo Sayer. Hope you like it. 😊
They don't make love songs like this in this day and age anymore.. Such a better time back then.. People everywhere were just happy and lived life with much more compassion.. This is why songs like this were written better.
Still a sweet, loving song. A pop song with R&B overtones in his terrific voice. Leo has had many health problems over the years, but is still alive and very well and still recording.
This song was played at my husband's cousins funeral. He was on a construction site when another worker accidentally cut a guide wire which whipped him and catapulted him off of the top of a 17 story building. He was just two months away from his 28th birthday and it was a big blow to the whole family. He said he never seen so many tough Chicago guys (my hubby included) cry like babies when this song was played. It's kind of bittersweet for my hubby, he loved his cousin very much.
YES!!!! Leo Sayer!! Bring me back to the 70's right now; I don't like today! "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and "More Than I Can Say" are must listens!!!!! 💖💖💖
This was Leo Sayers biggest hit. "When I Need You" (1977). It was the year I met my wife going on 45 years now. This monster hit for Leo came out when Disco music was playing on all the airwaves and television shows. The movie "Saturday Night Fever" (1977) with John Travolta. Capture the imagination of the country then. Yet this song stood out amongst all the disco music and dance crazed of the time. When the slow dances came on at the night club. And this song was playing. My wife and I just held onto one another... And we never let go. Thank you for this gem of a song. A memory I will never forget. Great reaction as always.
💞💞💞💞💞 What a wonderful memory to have. My husband passed away 10 years ago. We were married 31 years. I have been grateful every day that I love you were the last words we said. 💞💞💞💞
That is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Met my husband in 1978. He's passed now but all these musical memories bring his love to me. So glad you still have your wife.
Having watched you two react to a couple of classic 1970s love songs, I just love how you two are with each other. Dennis De Young, lead vocalist of rock band Styx, has been married to the same woman for decades and has written a couple of fabulous love songs to her. I don't know if you've already reacted to them, but the first one is "Lady," which is a hauntingly beautiful song... the second, "Babe" was written as a tribute to his wife on her birthday sometime around 1979 and when the record execs heard it, they wanted it included on Styx current album of the time (I'm spacing out which album that was) and so it was. I think they even took the spontaneous recording of it as it was performed for his wife on her birthday. Babe has a similar theme to this song (When I Need You) in that De Young was largely singing of his wife's praises with respect to his life on the road as a rock musician. Babe went on to be one of Styx' biggest hits. If you haven't reacted to these two songs, I think you lovebirds will really appreciate them.
