Who ever helpt petrik get those books, thank you. Your an extreamly nice person. Money well spent. He works so hard. Leo those lord of thering books are beutiful! You have such a good taist! Please enjoy them. Good pepole like yourself are rare this days. Take care. Happy reeds.🥰🌸👍
Nice haul Sir. It's truly a bummer you don't have access to Amazon. That was really nice of your friend to get those books for you. People are the gold of this world. And books. 😊
Wow that is quite a Tolkien haul, as well as the others. They now have a box set of the Dune books, with the artwork on the box. Finished The Traitor, e3verything gets buttoned up nicely. Abraham, looking forward to reading both of them.
it's about time I have more copy of Tolkien's physical books on my bookshelf! I look forward to reading The Traitor. Really glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)
p.s. Don't worry about not having read every piece of classic literature, no one has. You'd be surprised how many people have never touched some of the most famous stories. I've never read frankenstein or dracula, and I have far too many other cool books on my TBR to worry about those unless I'm really in the mood. I just read super randomly.. currently re-reading 1001 nights/Arabian nights by Sir Richard Burton. It was a book that I read in Dutch as a child because it was in the children's section of my local Dutch library. *It is NOT suitable for children* (or even for most modern audiences tbh) but it blew my child mind, I got the books for Aladdin, Ali Baba, Sinbad etc.. I was in for a surprise and that made me love books more than ever because it was so wild. I had two abridged leatherbound versions laying around (barnes and nobles, canterburry collection) and finally decided to re-read them.. I think it helps that I'm Turkish and kinda get a lot more of the context, references etc etc. But man, yeah, this book .. I don't even know where to start. If you're the type of person who supports the idea of sensitivity readers or something, it's probably not a smart idea to even try to read this book lol.
Thank you! I will keep that in mind. I think I will read the classics when my reading mood calls for it. I am interested in Frankenstein and East of Eden, though. I have to read those! I haven't read 1001 Nights, and it's odd that I used to think it would be suitable for children, too. But after finding out some of the content, I really don't think it's suitable for children.

I love your videos so much and I'm glad someone helped you get the books you wanted! I live in Brazil and know how frustrating it can be to get books outside the US/UK
Great haul. I wish I could get that Illborn edition! It is so beautiful. The only physical book that arrived this month is the Broken Binding Edition of The Combat Codes. The Radiant Empire Duology from Broken Binding might still arrive in August, but probably early September. I also decided to take advantage of the Malazan Humble Bundle that is live right now, for about 2 weeks still. I figured it might be a good way to try it out in ebook form, and if I like it I can upgrade later. We'll see
Thank you! I think it is a great decision to get the Malazan Humble Bundle. What a bargain! Entire series for $18. 😁 I might have to get Radiant Emperor duology, too! I enjoyed She Who Became the Sun!
The Death of Ivan Ilych is 90 or so pages long, but it feels like it's 900. Leo was really depressed when he wrote that and made sure we all got depressed with him. 😆
Rook & Rose trilogy is an intricate political fantasy with fabulous action and great twists. Even though it’s long it’s a lighter read so you’ll blow right through it. I just finished The Labyrinth’s Heart yesterday and is such a satisfying conclusion. This is a series that deserves beautiful hardcovers but I have to say that the flop of the paperbacks is exceptionally good.
Wow, Arliss is truly an angel!! I am so happy for you that you got the opportunity to add all these beautiful books to your collection. I finished Light Bringer earlier this week and I am having a major book/series hangover, it's definitely my favourite in the series and easily one of the best books I have read this year. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!! Happy reading :))
Thank you so much my friend! I'm so glad to have all these books. I have 180 pages left in Light Bringer. This book is absolutely amazing. Looking forward to reaching the end tomorrow! 😄
What a beautiful haul !! You are right. I live near 6 Barnes and Nobles. One being a 10 minute walk away and sometimes I take that for granted. I do however shop in ALL of them 😂Recently picked up Cyberpunk 2077 myself and am looking forward to that one
Woohoo! Wonderful to hear that. I did read Wolf of Oren Yaro a long time ago. I thought it was good, but nothing amazing yet. The main character was really hard to like. Supposedly the 2nd and 3rd book are much better, though.
The Lightbringer BN edition does have a poster.. its in the book...I haven't pulled mine out, but its folded into the binding on the first few pages. Check to confirm?
Have «Unfinished Tales» and hope to get around to it by the end of the year (so jealous for you on the other Tolkien Books 😄!). My next book haul (probably next month) will include «Return to Edan» by our dear Professor Chase, «The Judas Blossom» by Stephen Aryan, «After Rome» by Morgan Llewelyn and perhaps «Imperium» by Robert Harris or «Stonehenge» by Bernard Cornwell!
Thank you! I hope to read Unfinished Tales for the first time someday. I think I should prioritize Philip's books first before diving into my Tolkien reread! :D
Great haul!! I recently read Age of Ash. It’s my first time reading a novel by Daniel Abraham and I absolutely loved it! So much so, that I immediately bought Blade of Dream and I’m currently reading it. The idea behind The Kithamar Trilogy is quite fascinating. Anyway, thank you for your videos Petrik; it always makes my day! 😊
Thank you so much, Luis! Very pleased to hear that. I didn't know you read Age of Ash already! Daniel Abraham's fantasy books are all underrated, imo. I will make Kithamar trilogy one of my priority series in 2024! :)
Oh man... Alan Lee, John Howe, Ted Nasmith... right in my childhood! If you go into Dune, I think God Emperror Of Dune is definitely worth reading! My recent bookhaul was mostly sci-fi. It was Children of Memory by A.T. , Green/Blue mars by Kim Stanley Robinson, The Scar and Iron Council by Mieville, the two Endymion books by Simmons, the final three books in the first law world (age of madness), Babel by Kuang, and the foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov. You can see, you are responsible for almost half of those! Haha. =]
Those three make Middle-Earth more accessible and immersive for us modern fantasy readers! And wow, you got many great books! China Mieville's books are the ones I still have to read someday. :)
The last book haul felt like it was just posted yesterday 😮 I discovered Songs of Chaos from your shelf and I also pick up some self pubs from the ones that you mention in your book hauls. Great video as always, too much too read and too less time. Btw the Berserk one looks so sick!
Thank you so much! The Berserk ones look even more amazing in person! That is so true. I need more hours in a day to read them all. Time flies! I can't believe we're almost in September! :D
Such an amazing haul!! Those LotR editions are amazing! I recently started my collection of the Berserk Deluxe and I'm already thinking about how expensive it will be to complete it 🤣 but it will be worth it!!
Thank you so much! Oh yeah absolutely. The Berserk Deluxe hardcover collection is expensive to get. Pretty sure they made me spend more than $500 on it over 2 years! xD
The loss of Bookdepository is felt now even more than ever. I'll have to get by with Amazon. That said I really like the following books you mentioned: "Sea of Souls by NC Scrimgeour [book 1 of ?] and "No_Coincidence by Rafat Kosik" There is also the Pact and Pattern Series as well as the Covenant of Steel Series. These are the ones I'll be keeping my eye on!! Excellent taste as always!!
Thank you so much! And yeah. The loss of BD is painful. That's why I decided to buy many things. Couldn't pass up the chance when I'm able to buy from Amazon and Book Outlet!
Did you try Worderly, Petrik? Not sure if you’ve mentioned this previously. I think they ship internationally for free just like Book Depository used to.
I did try it! But I can't seem to access it without activating VPN. And the price is so weirdly expensive when I try to ship books here. Not sure why. xD
Damn, alot to get through.😁 If Cyberpunk - No_Coincidence is anywhere near as good as Edgerunners, It will be a must. Wanted to ask, when the main character arrives at the training academy, is that when 'The Will of the Many' hits its stride? Wasn't bad up to that point, but not completely grabbing me yet.
Yeah! Well, I certainly hope Cyberpunk No Coincidence will be as good as Edgerunners! As for The Will of the Many, I enjoyed it since the beginning but I did start to really love the book once Vis enters the academy! :)
Cool book haul. I got Howls Moving Castle for reread and Jade city (as bday present) then went and ordered Sons of Darkness and rest the green Bone Saga which waiting for in mail. I collect those same Tolkien editions too .
Ouch! To prove your point about not having access to all books via Amazon etc. you pull out Yumi and the nightmare painter, the one book I can’t find anywhere in South Africa :( Great vid though, keep it up!
