This happened with my parents.. I wished my parents divorced sooner. Would have saved us kids a lot of drawn out strife and misery. She may think her kids don’t sense what’s up but I can assure you kids are very attuned. They model after depressed, anxious, sad, mad, or secretive parents.

I have a huge issue with people hiding such information then getting married. I wish people will leave other people until they figure out what they want to do exactly with their lives. This information should be said from the get go of the relationship. Then adding kids to the mix , when the relationship didn’t start on a honest foundation.... makes things even harder. I hope God gives her the strength & wisdom she needs to handle it the best way.

There is a difference between just merely "getting laid" versus "having intimacy". It might be that he is emotionally disconnected to the point that she is experiencing the former but not the latter.

So if they divorce, it’s a possibility that she may have to pay him alimony and because he is the primary caretaker of the kids, he could be awarded primary custody then that could be child support. Don’t be fooled. He’s not your best friend. A best friend would want what’s best for you and he’s only thinking about himself. When you serve him with the divorce papers he will no longer be that best friend you think he is. This sounds like a setup from the beginning. He trapped you.

Yes, that is exactly what should happen. Primary care giving women are usually awarded alimony, child support, & custody. So since he is the primary care parent who is not working he should be awarded all that.

Agree! DO NOT bad mouth your kids dad or mom! It reflects back on their own self because they often perceive themselves as half mom and dad. Also, even if one parent IS at fault, the child STILL LOVES THEM! Be very careful!

She should’ve addressed as a couple years ago when she found out he was a cross dresser because wait for it wait for it She could’ve filed an annulment which means the marriage never happened and she would never have to pay alimony. When you find out that they committed fraud which he did that is a major thing she needed to act on it right away when she found out and filed for an annulment that would’ve been the best thing and no alimony to him

I have a friend whose husband came out as a cross-dresser after 30 years of marriage. When it first came out my friend was devastated and went through all the emotions. As her friend, I was stunned. I never saw it coming at all. He left and lived in a hotel for a few weeks while the dust settled. Their children were grown and out of the house. They ultimately ended up deciding to stay together. As an outsider, I was glad to see them stay together because they were a great couple and they physically and emotionally still loved each other. He also was a great husband and father. They made the right decision for them. But if it had happened to me, I think I would have left. I'm not sure I personally could handle my husband wanting to dress up as a woman. Too weird for me, but different strokes for different folks. Oh and as for the debt Lindsay and her husband incurred, they are married and whether she leaves him or not, they both are responsible for that debt. So she can pay back the debt before or after she divorces him.

People like him should be subject to the law of fraud by misrepresentation. If I sign an agreement to acquire a volvo and a mazda is delivered I would be entitled to sue for breach of contract. People like this man should be liable under the law and they will soon stop this nonsense of deceiving potential spouses.

If the husband has hardline said he has no intention of trying to improve on the intimacy (and/or she has cut off the intimacy because the cross dressing is a dealbreaker for her) then yeah work out an amicable separation. But don't just walk away until you've exhausted all efforts to work out the difference. Irreconcilable differences does not mean difficult-to-reconcile differences.

It might be good for Lindsey to get counseling to get through all & to face any issues she may be in denial about concerning the situation.Children aren’T dumb. They, too, might be sensing or seeing something is definitely wrong. If so, how is it effecting them not receiving help to cope with it all, too? Something to remember: He is at home with the children acting as their primary “teacher” & role model.

He should get custody of the kids as well as alimony & child support. This is because he is the primary care giver while she is at work. If the genders were reversed no one would be upset at the primary care giving women getting custody of kids.

@@TehFlush No, courts favor the stay-at-home parent, which is usually the woman, but in this case it is the man. Most likely they will get joint custody, with the husband having physical custody.

Some men are VERY good about hiding this area of their lives from their significant others. I was in counseling once with a woman who'd been married like 25 years and just found out her husband had been cheating with women and had a porn addiction like 15 years and she honestly had no idea.
