Ice barriers were one of the first I played with when I got back into Yu-Gi-Oh during COVID. Glad they are getting some help I wanna see what they can do.
With these new cards you can easily draw 4 off the coral croc combo, and/or summon Lancea with several synchro disruptions. The combos with the main deck monsters are not only broken, but consistent.
I love ice barrier, thanks for the profile I've been wondering to get my deck set up, one of my little suggestions could be running white aura whale as a board wipe option :3c
I think you could use that ED space for other options. I wouldn't play most of the old Ice Barriers apart from Dewloran and both Trishulas for looping resources. Instead, using coral dragon, Chengying and maybe White Aura Whale or something. Using Tokens for coral, draw one, use the test for Croc, draw 3, is a stable +4 in draws.
I like these options. Tbh I would cut the tiger king, Gugnir, and the Brionac of the Icy mountain, which is a worse ripoff of the already insane original. My idea of an ice barrier package in synchro style would be 2x Lancea, Trish zero, the OG Trish, and the OG Brionac. I have to agree on your other options and mentions though. Those are staples
The ammount of years you have done these deck profiles, but no matter the time that passes, te K-on playmat remains. I like that, feels nostalgic & familiar.
Tbh, I wish the new Brionac was an ice barrier by name. It would be so much better since Lancea could summon it on the opponents turn to bounce a card, but unfortunately, that's not the case.
I actually run 3 ran aegirine, 3 aegirine and 3 icejade cradle cus ran argirine is one of the major lynchpins in the deck of you want it to be consistent. I also run only 3 one of ice barriers so I don't brick and keep the others in the side deck so I can swap em out depending on what kind of deck I am dueling
Coral Dragon + Croco draw 4 Combo with Toad on 5th summon is too good not to play Also: Prior and Defender are terrible, Medium and Warlock are better floodgates imo PS: White Sardine is a surprisingly good extender in this deck
Not trying to hate, but I'm kind of still learning on the deck. What makes the Coral + Croc combo and Toad not that good, like what are the issues that come with it aside from the obvious answer which is hand traps?
No, bc these are costs and not effects. Ex: you can discard 2 then destroy up to 2 cards is a cost, while, Target 1 monster in the grave, banish it, then discard 1 card is an effect. Since the discard comes before the effect, it is a cost, if the discard comes after the effect, it is officially an effect that in turn would trigger dark world monsters.
It would only work if only dragons were used which the main deck does not include which makes it hard for that effect to come up. Plus the banishing effect isn't as good as the OG Trish. IMO it is not worth running, but you can try it out if you would like. I would run it in something like dragon link so it can be used at close to full potential
