People actually don't understand the reason people migrate, they just stereotype. Its good to hear from one, his true story.

@@annache250 "You know that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes" Like that Cherif POS in Strasbourg who just gunned down 3 French people in an Xmas market? You brainless fol, how can a country kick out all the non immigrants? Oh yeah, did you hear about how China treats its Muslims? Not pretty

Your parents's story is my parent's story (but from Colombia). Same sacrifices had to made to leave their native country and family behind. You have a beautiful family! And the food looked delicious!!!! Inspiring work! Thank you for sharing.

wii3willRule I don't think many languages have words that sound like world or girl idk nothing in Spanish like that. but of course Spanish has over 3,000 Arabic words in it. Spain was Muslim for over 700 years. even my last name is Arabic and I'm 100% Latino

Your mom is so sweet! Your parents were so brave. I enjoyed watching your video. My grandfather immigrated from Syria in 1900, my grandmother in 1907. He was a peddler then had a dry goods store, she raised 11 kids. They lived in Woonsocket RI in a small community of other Syrian families. ❤ I also try to help Syrian families that have recently immigrated. There is a charity called miryslist that highlights newly arrived families and what they need.

Thank you for the glimpse into this history. Many of our ancestors experienced these things, and it proves we are all connected. I hate that there are still people who are ignorant of this rich history we all share. Ignorance is difficult to be rid of, I guess.

My parents left India in 1970s. Though they didn't know each other existed until Chicago, they came for the dame reason... opportunity. They met in Chicago as medical residents when a mutual friend introduced them. They ultimately married. I was born a few years later in Chicago. My sister was born 3 years after me. It is a immigrant story. Same issues

God bless you and your strength. My grandparents came more than 100 years ago. We never spoke Arabic in my home, and no matter the reason it's sad that I don't speak that language. I only know a few words. I tell every immigrant from all Countries not to lose their language. Make sure your children learn.

Some people invade a country, then for some reasons the same people who invaded the land, make the country inhabitable due to instabilities, then the citizens within the same country become helpless since they realize that they live in a lawless land, then they fled the land of their ancestors. If invaders would have not invaded or would have not messed with the country, there would not be any reasons for them to fled the land, then the people flee the country either as refugee or immigrants. According to Ben Carson, "slaves are also immigrant too since they came to the land for opportunities and freedom; AMERICA". It is like a western movie; the hired gun will eventually win over you.

As far as opportunities and for a new start for Syrians and Iraqui immigrants :Belize is the country to start, nothing there ready for resettlement. Panama is also good.Guyana,Suriname ,and French Guiana are also good ,cause there is nothing there:thousands of Middle Easterns could resettle there:plenty of land.

I just don't understand how anybody wants to immigrate to a country they are not familiar with, that has different values, customs, and lifestyle and choose for a settlement that is difficult and embarrassing for everybody. Snobism? Greed? Why not improve your own country, or fix it, their contribution is much more needed there.

I asked a question. Why did you come here if you miss your country so much 😭 if you're so great on Arabic culture and language. Maybe you all should move back to Damascus. I was born here so I guess I will never understand people like you that bring your culture and language hear something I have no use for sense in America we speak English as our main language. Most people prefer people that can speak English it makes the lines of communication whole lot better been speaking other languages that I know that are here. I'm glad that you both speak English otherwise talking to you would make no sense me.😕.

@@Bigboichud24 sad huh that you have to go to to another because your isn't worth a crap just to come here not obey it's and exploited for everything you can. I see so much of this coming from our Southern borders from our Eastern borders coming to America which I was born in seen exploited for their own use. That's how I feel so it's not such a dumb question. You must not have been born in this country otherwise she'd feel the same. But yes that's my opinion like it or not.

from what I've seen it's just a concept that YOU don't understand. Oh, these people can't come to America because they're Muslim. America is freedom. My best friend is Muslim and she is fine with people practicing whatever. You're the bigot here.

Yet you are using this to try to frame all Muslim people in a bad light? Those are those countries. I don't like what they do there. But the thing is, Mulsim people are attacked in countries like that too and they need to get away from it.
