I'll be honest, this song's melody is pretty ethereal, but the lyrics are just heart wrenching.

My biggest flex is that my cousin used to work for Evanescence. He also is from her hometown hence how he ended up being a roadie for the band for a few years. The fact their music though hits a cord with my soul though and has supplied me comfort in my uphill battle with grief and knowing that they're also, from at least my cousin's experience, really great people just soothes my heart.

Im singing this song for my brother at my concert... he passed away when I was 10 and I'm going on 16 now. he's always wanted to see how far I've come in life. I hope he hears it...

This song hots so much harder as an 18 yo who lost their father right after becoming an adult in 2023. Great man with a good career in the USN, always wanted to live up to that. I was also hoping that he would be there when I would graduate from college and became a commissioned officer in the US Navy since that was what I decided on from a very young age. I hope he'll be able to see me from above as I blaze a trail through life like he did for 43 years. May you rest in peace dad, and may you continue to find happiness in heaven just as you did here on earth.

This song reminds me of my grandmother, who passed away on June 24th, 2011. I had 22 amazing years with her and never lived a day without her. Her and my grandfather had a very complicated marriage, and she never moved on or found love again after it ended. She still loved him after all that happened between them. She said this song perfectly represented their relationship and what she still felt for decades until her very last breath. Now it reminds me of her and the giant hole her death has left in my life. I miss her so much. She passed away suddenly at almost 64 years old and never lived the life she deserved. I pray she is at peace now. 💔

I finally understand the meaning of this song as an adult.

My mom and I had a great relationship, but she had always been more like a bestfriend than a parent. She passed over 4 years ago and the particular lyric "though, you're still with me, I've been alone all along" really hit me. Her father passed the year I was born before he could meet me and my mother always leaned on me for comfort, she'd have random emotional breakdowns over him, I'd hug her, reassure her that everything would be fine. Anytime I needed advice, she didn't know how to give me any, I worked since I was 17, I financially supported her more than she did for me. I truly was alone, but now I feel even more alone. As a child I was sexually abused, I remember feeling fear the first time it ever happened. After that all I ever felt was abandoned, alone, unprotected, angry & I resented myself. I remember developing an unhealthy relationship with both my abusers. I was always afraid to say anything because I wasn't sure anyone would believe me, I was afraid my two oldest brothers wouldn't love me because I didn't want them to think I was gay for what was happening. After a while I couldn't help but convince myself that this was normal for a kid. Eventually I left it at that not knowing how much it would affect my life. I always wonder how things would have turned out if that never happened to me. How much my life would have been different. I have a relationship with God now which has made such a huge difference in my life. I'm still far from perfect but He's definitely the glue in my life. I'm not sure where I'd be or what I'd be doing without Him in my life. He's taught me so many important lessons along with knowing my worth. It hasn't been an easy walk through life but as long as He's with me, I'll be okay. Even if I can't see it sometimes or feel it. He always gots my back. I pray You all find God while you still can. It'll be the best decision of your life. I'll be praying for you all out there ❤️.

This song hits me more that I’m an adult , when I first heard this I was about 10 years old. Now I know heartbreak very well. & currently dealing with my ex that turned situationship.
