Think about it, would this not be done at a hospital? We know that no reputable hospital would do this. My biggest fear is that Psycho MIL would just kill the kid for what ever reason she has in her head! Then say, see, the other child is better now! Note that no other family member was there when she said it to them!
I would send the grandmother to the psych ward. I also would never leave my child alone with her....I couldn't trust her with any living child....not even a toy doll or teddy bear.

Hearts can only be donated if the granddaughter had died from an accident or illness that didn't affect her heart. Of course, the hospital can't take organs without approval from family or if the person, when getting their ID or driver's license, checked the box stating that they want to do this.

I heard this a few times, I still do not understand what Karen tried to pull off. She is not a doctor, and no reputable hospital will just snag a child for their heart when they are healthy. I am not shocked that we have people like this. not at all.
This story was ridiculous no doubt however the question posed at the end does make you think. To me there is almost always an opportunity for forgiveness. HOWEVER, forgiving and forgetting are two entirely different conversations. Just because you have chosen to forgive someone does not mean you are going to now be best friends. It simply means you have chosen to no longer give that person the power to do you harm whenever you think of them. You are in essence reclaiming that piece of yourself that person stole from you when they hurt you. If you choose to actually have a relationship with that person is an entirely different conversation.

They were right. They need to protect their children. Some things there's no coming back from. Threatening someone else's LIFE is one of them. This needs to be reported as well. Probably to law enforcement, definitely to medical personnel. She is dangerous and can never be allowed to carry out such a threat.
The only reason MIL wants DIL to donate her granddaughters heart to save another grandchild is that Granny doesn't have one of her own. MIL is a typical Karen.

To the writer: Who was the MIL trying to help if the baby was healthy? She insists to her husband that she was only trying to help. Who? You need to come up with a better plot line because this one has more holes in it than swiss cheese. I'd like to see this story go further, but perhaps give a legit reason as to why the MIL wanted her grandchild's heart. If she still insists on that, perhaps add some twists. Get the grandmother psychologically tested. It's stupid her saying "I just wanted to help" when there's no real reason that Tricia needs to lose her heart. Her family cutting ties with her is fantastic, but there needs to be other consequences. Also, why is Tricia's father feeling uncertain? What is he uncertain about? Giving up his daughter's heart? It's not like he couldn't disbelieve his mother as he heard her make the claim. The reasons behind his uncertainty need to be clarified. If you can't think up a reason, perhaps changing the father's attitude to an adamant "NO" alongside the anger to, at least, make this story more believable. Great narration, great idea for a story, but it really needs a better storyline, or at least a few plot twists to fill all the holes.
If the sister-in-law's baby is perfectly healthy, I want to know the real reason the MIL wanted her granddaughter's heart. This story is either completely made up or we are missing some vital information. Of course, this is in addition to .the ethical criteria surrounding transplants, which seem to have been ignored.

This HAS to be garbage. A heart is not like a lung or a kidney. You only have ONE of them. So, no one would take one from a living person. If it was a matter of the daughter already being dead for some reason and it was a matter of trying to get the heart versus burying it that would be different (the mother might even agree, in that case) If it was a kidney or lung, she might consider it. But kill one child to save another (especially one who wasn't even born yet and whom the heart wouldn't work for,) that's total insanity and full fledged murder. Even somwhere as out of it as the PRC (with it's constant stories of children and young adults being kidnapped for their organs,) wouldn't have a grandma trying to select one of her grandchildren as a sacrafice for another. Well, probably not (if the fetus was a boy, and it was a really old school Chinese grandma, it might be theoretically possible.)

My question is as the baby is healthy and doesn’t need a heart what was she going to do with it? As this isn’t a simple case of the child is sick and does need a heart. The child doesn’t need it so was she planning on taking the heart for some other reason. If that’s the case it’s even worse
If the baby was sick, the story would make sense. But wanted to murder one baby to save another would have been just as sick. Was she just trying to worry Julia? Or did she have a shady black market doctor do it then sale it t a desperate family, she might know about. They recorded her confession , they need to take that to the police and have a restraining order against her for she can't be within 10 yards of the baby. Sounds crazy enough to stalk them across country to snatch the baby ad run.
That story made no sense whatsoever, none. And it is extremely badly written. I couldn't bear to listen to all of it, but I resent the 8 minutes that it took out of my life.
