Investing in a stock may look straightforward, but choosing the right stock without a proven technique can be difficult. Very true. Despite having no prior investing knowledge, I started investing before the pandemic and pulled in a profit of approximately 950k that same year. In reality, all I was doing getting professional advice.

The issue is most people have the 'I will do it myself' mentality but are not skilled enough. Ideally, advisors are perfect reps for investing jobs, and in my first-hand experience, my portfolio has yielded over 350% since the COVID outbreak to date, summing up nearly $1m.
@@cygnevara8400 same here! i always traded the break and retest but the ORB is a new way for me and im liking it, what ive done to really make it solid is mainly play the direction of the overall trend we are in , i feel more confident that way. so far its been great!
This is for the folks not understanding what strong displacement means....the candle needs to be convincing in the direction. Its gonna be different depending what you see. You keep waiting for 100% strategies...youll be on the sidelines until you die.
I've been making a lot of losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading on a demo account is just like trading the real market. Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do?.
Wow. I'm a bit perplexed seeing her being mentioned here also. I didn't know she has been good to so many people too this is wonderful, I'm in my fifth trade with her and it has been amazing.
Love your video! This is my Favorite Strategy- the only thing I would note ( or at least I do) I don't trade the first 15 minutes of the ORB ( Mark the high and low of the first 15 minutes) - to avoid false movements/breakouts! Like printing money!
bro. profits today on this strategy. then went back and charted out other favorite stocks on the 5min, there were multiple trades to the upside and to the downside that retested the opening range. I dont wanna get overly excited but thank you for this video!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I had problem comprehending trading in general. I tried watching other YT trading channels, but they made the concepts more complicated. I was almost giving up until when I discovered your channel. I love the way you break down the content and explain everything in detail. The videos are easy to follow

Well explained. Thanks for bringing up the video. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject.
Most people think, investing in crypto is all about buying coins and leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader.
Trading without professional guide...Huh I laugh you, because you will remain where you are or even make huge losses that will stop you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problem to new traders
You're right! I have lost a lot trading all by myself without a guide. It's been an uneasy ride for me. Who is your mentor please. how can i reach her i really need help in this bear market now?
I use this strategy as well but on the opening 15 minute range instead. break and retest using using the 1 min time frame for entry. 60% win rate aiming for 100 pips with a 25-50 pip stop loss. a losing week of 2/5 with this strategy is is still Good because indexes for a fact gonna give you a 100 pip move straight in one direction at least 3 out of 5 days. I don't even stress about losses any more because a this strategy on a bad losing week can still be profitable with risk to reward ratio. and with this strategy you gonna be in one of those 100 pips moves at least 2-3 times out of 5 days
Most of these "strategies" are shown using perfect examples to give the allusion that they work. But in reality, you will lose more than you make listening to RU-vid trading gurus. The market takes patience to learn. It's NOT for beginners. Period
06:28 Why not SHORT after price retests the ORB bottom line? 07:44 Placed SHORT order just as the price retests the ORB bottom line. What's the difference between the two cases? You might say first one, price move was not strong enough, but then what does it mean to be strong "precisely"?
Thanks a lot for this awesome setup! I just backtested across 7 days (ES futures 5 min chart)and had 4 winning days (2 to 1) , 2 losses and 1 no trade. Looking forward to do it live this week! Average risk was 300-500 based on the setup with 600-1000 profit target. I like this especially because I’ve either been destroyed trading at the open or avoiding it altogether. I did not trail and let the trades run their course.
Wow - thank you very much for this strategy. I would say to add in resistance levels, and the 9 ema. Also, if you are on the 5 minute, check the 3 minute, (possibly the 2 minute, but I don't have access to that), maybe the 1 minute before making your entry.
I’m newbie in trading and really having hard time to understand the market but after watched this and also been testing this strat for 5 days and yes it’s really working 😃 thank you so soooo muchhhhh❤
When I see good videos like this I usually take out my time to appreciate the experts that make these videos possible, it is not easy to help lots of people earn money
You are right experts and professionals are usually underestimated and sadly this occurs more in the financial industry, a typical example is my financial mentor Mr Thomas rodriguez
Jdub, it’s an honest effort on your part, but this strategy doesn’t work consistently because it’s based on a false premise. That is, once your initial 5 minute range is established and retested, that this retest will have a propensity to move in whichever direction it breaks, with a 2/1 (+/-) profit/loss ratio. A more thorough back test will show that, in fact, the propensity for a move in the breaking direction is basically a coin toss with many factors that could cause this trade to move against you. This is not to say that this wouldn’t be a winning strategy during a given week or month. But over time it will prove to be wrong as often as right. Sorry, I don’t intend to be a detractor, but I’ve modeled this and ran a years worth of data so I know it won’t work over time. Nevertheless, a thoughtful thesis.
I like the concept and it works well as long as the breakout candle isn't news related and as long as there isn't some sort of big resistance area close by after the re-test like vwap or a key level.
Thank You for this video ! What constitutes a "strong displacement" ? how far out of the range or for how much time out of the range creates that ? thanks
Huh? It doesn't work for him either. Isn't it obvious? If it would, he'd be busy getting filthy rich and not making dumbass youtube videos about useless strategies.
@@JdubTrades Broker statements are not always truthful especially if they’re Non regulated unknown prop firms. Why don’t any of the So called Gurus ever show bank statements that show proof that the money came from trading instead of the courses they sell.

@@SolutionsWithin I like watching these videos but wouldn’t throw any money at them without seeing proof. Thank you brother! I appreciate this valuable information… I’ve been working for years killing myself to make someone else’s paradise instead of my own. It’s time to get off this modern day plantation and set myself free! Thank you again for providing us the tools that we need to free ourselves!
Great video, thanks! Two questions though… 1) What is “strong displacement”? It seems subjective. When you back test, you seem to ignore some breakouts but trade others. There should be a numerical rule. 2) Have you actually backtested a system enough times to make sure it’s a winner? That last example is actually a loss. Not a “less than 2x gain”. You can’t see the future when trading, so you can’t change the rules on the fly. That’s a stop out.
Great question @yiyoguerra. You can use a momentum filter on your highest timeframe to anticipate strong displacement. But it basically means a "break below close below" the opening range in this example :)
Hi, yiyoguerra. It's true that you can't see the future when trading, but you can change the rules on the fly if you design your system to do that. I recommend trading two systems simultaneously--one that trades strict, and one that trades with flexibility. Instead of using only one version of the system and giving it control of 1R of risk, use two versions of it with each one controlling 0.5R. You could also use three versions of the system giving each one control of 0.33R of risk. Your results over time will be much smoother that way--trust me. ;)
Thank you for the video. I have a question. What is considered a significant break below or above the highs and lows? percentage? dollar amount? 1 or 2candles?
Looks like it tends to be one particularly steep candle that as a result creates an imbalance (where the retracement into this touches the opening range). It’s like fair value gap logic applied to an opening range. Fair enough if it works though
this video is the real game changer...My ORB strategy failed as I never waited for the retest. after watching this video my ORB strategy has been perfected!
So once you have identified your break and retest, whether it would be to the upside or downside, are you buying calls/puts based on the direction? If so then you placing a stop loss/profit taking indicator on your buy at double on the profit and half on the loss of what you paid? For example if you entered a call/put at 0.20 are you setting your profit taking at 0.40 and your stop loss at 0.10?
I just literally watched a video of a guy who just got a 150k funded account using this strategy and got clapped. He was waiting for the retest to bounce off of support and it just dumped all the way through and clapped him. That might work for some but not everyone. I’d be careful y’all. Still gave like, good content.
There is plenty of different break and retest setups. With the break and retest there is about 10-15 BnR setups. When trading the break and retest you can't just look for any break and retest. You have to be able to find high probability points of interest with multiple confluences.
Sounds like terrible risk management to me. There is no such thing as a perfect strategy so sounds like your guy didn't know his strategy at all. At least, not his risk management component of his strategy!
@@realistic7894 I think that’s its layers to trading. And I think videos like this doesn’t give full context of the dangers and how to minimize the risk.
For the past six months, I've been trading Bitcoin independently but have been facing losses. Can anyone provide guidance on how to achieve profitability?
Fantastic video! Your easy scalping strategy is not only simple but also highly effective. I appreciate how you break down each step clearly and make it accessible for beginners. The emphasis on avoiding bias and relying on mechanical rules is a game-changer. Keep up the great work!
I usually look up your videos for updates! Our government has no idea how people are suffering these days. I feel for people with disabilities not getting the help they deserve. Thank you Mrs SONIA DIXON, imagine investing $12,000 and received $305,500.
Mrs SONIA DIXON was my hope during the 'bear summer' last year. I did so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from sonia dixon.
On the 2nd day, the 3rd candle clearly goes below the low. Then according to the rule you would enter as soon as it touched the low again as a retest. But you just ignored it, knowing it would continue up and just made some excuse about it going up too fast. Until I see you trade this strategy life, with real money, it is not good enough for me. But I appreciate the video. It gave me some other ideas.
I think you may have misunderstood. The trading plan. You're not just looking for a breakout,.. It is a breakout with continuation. In this case that you're describing, there was no continuation, thus, it was not a valid setup.
While this is a great trading plan, my only issue is putting the stop loss exactly on top of the range boundary. Price seeks those boundaries in and will often wick you out. Need to put just a little bit of extra stop loss past the range boundary
Totally legit, new viewer here, liked and subscribed !, ...playing/praticing with mes and spy options right now, like the ORB but this will be added to my experiments, thank you
You can wait for confirmation but that might equal less RR but higher winrate and if you don’t wait you will have lower winrate and larger RR. It’s all up to you.
Great vid Jdub, nice to see a video from somebody that actually does this every day instead of some snake oil salesman trying to sell you his "trading system that makes him 2000K million dollars a week, just buy my subscriptioin for 5K!". This is real deal stuff I trade 0DTEs on RUT and SPX everyday and I use similar methodology. Gonna try this on a 5 and 10 min chart. TY!
So far great strategy! I was curios of you could explain the times where displacement occurs, but maybe its too much and youd want to exit the trade? For ex, Id assume if displacement is 3 or 4x the size of the range, you may consider the retracement a market reversal? Are there times you cancel your entry due to specific conditions? Or if the displacement is bearish and bounces up off a multi day low?
@@JdubTrades how long do you wait for that pullback? also, buying anywhere in that opening range (or shorting) would be okj correct? the thesis is that the opening range is providing the direction for the day so a bounce to the upside and a pullback a few hrs later within that range can be bought as the theory is the day is still bullish if the initial break was to the upside correct?
He traded in hindsight lol! His idea of 'strong displacement' was weaker when the video first starts and then he needed more movement later cause he saw it would be a losing trade. Then again towards the end, he accepted another displacement that was the even weaker than the earlier one he rejected . Watch the whole video again and pay attention to the second back test and then the last backtest.
I went over NQ and it doesn't seem all that great. Works maybe 50% chance at best and when it doesn't you'll end up taking a huge loss. It needs a lot of tweaking and knowing what days to pick to use this strategy and even then it might not be worth the hassle. There will be so many days the market just chops in the 1st 30 min and it'll hit your SL before your profit target. But then again, if it was so great there be no need to share it. He'll be making millions in the market. Market open is just too unpredicatable to come up with a great consistent strategy. You be better off just avoiding the 1st 30 minutes.
Hey Jdub, love your vids sir , can you or anyone here share what program or what overlay is being used when you hovered the cursor near the trade that reflects the red/ green profit / loss boxes . thats awesome . Sry older boomer newbie here . ( time stamp 6.58)
Great video thank you! My question is as follows. Once you identify displacement and price retest your entry zone, do you have a limit order already in place waiting to be tapped into the trade or are you manually executing the trade? Everything else was clear. I will test and give you feedback in our discord. 🙏👍
I will personally go on the 1 Minute timeframe and wait for a tap into the ORB Retest level. Since we trade with options it will be difficult to calculate the options price perfectly in a short period of time
Great video! I am wondering what a strong displacement is?? Would that be a close 30% past the low or high, or more? What do you consider strong? This will help clarify the way to know the signal is there?
You had have to show you doing live trade than video tape it and put it on your ch utube. You must show your platform live c Forex chart with a clear view of your buy and sell icon buttons You must show ' On Spot'. This is good for scalping. Make sure your viewers can see it clearly
I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Nicole Miller.
Thanks for a great video .. would you mind sharing the details of the session indicator that you use and its setting to pick the right m5 candle of 9:30 ?
thank you for these informative videos! im still in high school, fairly young but I wanna start now and learn all that I need to know to master the skill of trading ❤🎉
Stop at bos. To calculate the risk there is a bunch of factors like dollar amount. You can calculate theta, etc. I can possibly make a video on this in the future.
6:07 that level was probably in line with some other notable level; previous day’s close, a previously strong VWAP level, a time where high frequency trading bots kicked into high gear, etc
Great video Jdubs! Thanks for sharing. For the 5 min ORB, do you enter on the 1 min chart or the 5 min chart? Also do you stop out when the 5min candle closes at your stop or the 1min candle? Thank you!
If you are on the 5 Min chart you can go on the 1 minute for precise entries but after that you want to manage you trad on the 5 minute timeframe. Only reason to be on the 1 minute timeframe is for more precision.
Thanks for the great video. One point to clarify: it seems you entered the trade at the closer of the 5 min candle that had a touch back to the opening range, but not exactly at the high or low of the range ?
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my entire life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small investment, thank you Carla Koren.
Great video man, you have such good insights and ideas and that is why trading and investing is only profitable when you got proper guidance like mines
Thank you for this video! Do you wait for a strong bullish or bearish candle at the retest level? or do you set to enter a limit order at the retest level, doesn’t matter how the candle formed there? I have a feeling if I wait for a confirmation candle, my stop loss would be too big. Thanks so much again!
Yes as I mentioned you can wait for confirmation which will result in higher Winrate but lower RR or you can buy as it touches that level which will result in lower winrate but higher RR
Haha er...how is there no opening range break in your second example at 6:08? It clearly broke lower (closed below your "opening range", AND almost closes on the low, how is that not strong conviction?) then even went back up to retest it, so you would have gotten in short if this was live, with your stop set at the ORH, then promptly got stopped out. Please don't pick and choose your trades for your "strategy". Be realistic, there's a lot of people here listening to you that will be losing money. Here are results from the last 2.5 weeks on a random stock using this strategy, factoring in live conditions: 17th - Stopped out 18th - Win 2x 19th - BE, maybe tiny profit 20th - No trade 21st - No trade 24th - No trade 25th - BE or tiny profit 26th - Win 2x (just, probably not filled) 27th - Stopped out 28th - No trade 1st July - BE, nothing 2nd - No trade 3rd - No trade Also, one week isn't "backtesting". 5 years, maybe.
You shouldn't be recommending strategies without at least one year backtesting results to support it. One week is nothing Otherwise your videos do not have value as you're just picking random strategy from the list of strategies and explaining them to viewers.
I have personally back tested this strategy for a few years now. This video was a demonstration on what the strategy is and how to execute it. My job is not to back test the strategy for you.
