I rock some Seba Trix skates with Powerslide alpha mag pre-rockered frames, I prefer a hard wheel so I go with gyro 90a's and for bearings I use Oust moc 9 air's but I've replaced the steel ball's with ceramic.

Tiago! Your setup has changed since this video, but I was curious what advantages you got (if any) out of having 84A wheels in the middle and 85A on the outside. Are you still mixing hardnesses?
@TiagoInlineSkater
@TiagoInlineSkater 5 лет назад
Hi! the real reason I had different hadness wheels was because I couldn't find all the wheels in the same hardness back then 😅! Nowadays I skate with 88A for my triskate setup, and 86A for my 4 wheeled setup! ( planning on trying 88A wheels for my 4 wheeled frames soon!)

I don't know if you have anything to do with the closed captions or if a automated program does it but at 3:53 there is a bad translation. Also, have you ever done a video on how to position your frame for different kinds of skating.

Hey, I am thinking of getting Seba High Light Carbon Customs for my flat feet. Not sure if they will do a 3d mould for my feet for the boots, but I am asking them. Do you know of any other skates I should consider which offer a custom boot mould? Thanks!

I'm getting a 80mm pair of skates and I'm wondering if a 80/76 rocker setup would have the same effect for maneuverability/slalom. Any experience appreciated, if not i can see how 76/72 would be lower center of gravity and a better setup

0:33 Haha I was sitting in the library and laughed out loud ^^ Super great video! My setup is the Flying Eagle F7 skates and their Portech Large backpack. I'm really happy about being able to carry the skates on the sides of the backpack. Makes everyday skating so much easier and especially when travelling :) Oh and I also have my laces on my skates so I don't need to care about them hehe... And I'm just about to switch out the black stock wheels to some red fancy ones that I currently have on my old crappy skates, I think they might actually be the same model as the 72mm ones you use, Gyro F2R, but 80mm. Looking forward to getting some colour on the skates! :D

it's a mistake ^^" ... I've just checked the official Seba CIM website www.seba-cim.com/seba/ And we can see that the design of the high carbon, and High Light Carbon are different. the cuff is different, different liner ( Unimold design) , and the ventilation is different too.

The official Seba CIM page is not complete and up-to-date. There are now 110 different colors and materials, which you will not find on the official Seba CIM page, for example. Trust me, you can have the Seba high Light Carbon made as a CIM version. I have my skate built last summer. Contact ProSkatersPlace in Toronto to confirm my information. Or go directly to Seba in Paris :)

Hi Tiago, thank you for showing us your setup. Can you please tell me the brand of elastic laces you are using and where I may be able to order them from? I'm not a fan of tying laces on my high light's and as of right now I'm just not using any at all, which by the way, doesn't seem to be a big deal. Are these any good to use in like skating rinks with the right wheels? I wanna get into outdoor freeride/slalom but I don't live in the best area for it, but for now I'm staying at the rinks. I would say I'm advanced with my skill level compared to most people, but I'm not nearly as good as you. I'm just looking for some high-end, comfortable (preferably padded, the skates I have now have little to no padding and hurt my feet, but they're like half a size too big so that doesn't help), that'll last me a long time. Also, love the videos!

Hi Tony, at the moment I have mixed feelings but I 'm sure they will become my favourite skates for years to come. They are beautiful, very good/solid quality, very fast and stable skates, and they worth every penny. Unfortunately I cant wear them for a few weeks now because on the first ride the right skate digged in the medial ankle, breaking the skin, making them impossible to wear until the wound heals and the skin naturally hardens. So, I 'm happy for the proper tight fit, but not so happy for having to wait many weeks until both skate and foot adapts.
@freshasadaisy4782
@freshasadaisy4782 7 лет назад
I hope you will be able to skate again in the Kaze Skates. The Base of the Skates are Powerslide Vi wich tend to be a mess when it comes to Comfort. A online shop owner told me he got a third of the skates back from customers because of that.
@AntonyGreenman
@AntonyGreenman 7 лет назад
Hans Kanns that doesn't bode well. I kind of heard that somewhere else, too. Maybe I'll be leaning more towards the Seba triskates. I'm also considering the flying eagle f7 with the supersonic frames. It's hard to decide when you can't try them out

I think you also used Seba FRXs earlier on, what would you say, is it worth switching to High Light Carbons? AFAIK the carbons are not really much lighter, are they? BTW, I don't understand why the high-end skate producers don't seem to offer any really light yet sturdy skates - if you are a big heavy guy it must be a different experience than if you're small and light, yet all the skates are kinda the same weight - except for the cheap bendy ones with insufficient ankle support. As for the shoes, why not try walking barefoot - it strengthens the feet and ankles and as an additional benefit prevents all sorts of problems with screwed up feet at (not so much) older age, like bunions, warped toes, poor posture etc.
@TiagoInlineSkater
@TiagoInlineSkater 7 лет назад
clray123 the High Light Carbon is very different compared to the FRX. the first is a freestyle skate and the other is a freeride skate. the High Light Carbon is much more precise, narrower and has a much better heel and toe lock. your feet do NOT move at all inside of your skates! the FRX has a great lock but the high light carbon is on another level :) they feel lighter, but to me, the real advantage the carbon offers is the stiffnes wich improves the power transfer! we can find really light skates ( talking about the boots only) but all the other parts "make" them heavy. plus, inline skating require sterdier skates than ice skating ( can we skate on different surfaces, do harder tricks ect) so they put more features in them, like abrassive pads, multiple carbon layers, heavy duty frames, bugger bolts ect. the super light skates arent know for being very durable, cause..to make them super light, they skip on these...features :o have to try that, but i put my shoes to take the subway, enter in stores ect :)
@clray123
@clray123 7 лет назад
Thanks, that sounds intriguing... (At least here in Germany) you can enter subway/stores barefoot without problems (that's part of the fun).

Hi Tiago, I just have one question about the SEBA backpack - Does it feature a pull-out rain guard to protect your skate and cuffs from the rain? I saw a video where a smaller SEBA backpack had the pull out impermeable cover from the bottom of the bag and pulls out and over the backpack for when it rains and I thought that was a neat idea. BTW, if it doesn't have a rain cover - what do you do to stop your skates getting partially wet if they are on the backpack and it's raining?

hey! :D well, I'd recomend urban skates, because they usually are very good all-around skates, plus, they are very customisable :) and the best I can suggest you for a low price, is the Seba FRX, trust me, i've own a pair of these ( still have them), and they are REALLY good! :D you'll defenitely have lots of fun with these!

hi Tiago, i really love your videos. You are such a terrific skater. Thank you so much for always giving so much useful feedback and advice to all of us. You are the best!!!! I have a question please. So I am currently in the market for new inline skates. I'd like something in the urban/freestyle category which would allow me good maneuverability and speed. The one thing is that my forefoot is on the wider side. So skates that taper would probably hurt. I was looking at Seba, Powerslide, and Rollerblade. From rollerblade, the twister x 2017 model look pretty nice. from powerslide, the kaze and ultron looked good. seba tho has sooo many different models it is hard to choose. Maybe the seba high light. What do you think about all those models? Also it sucks that there are no stores in the NYC area that carry any of these. So i can't really try any on. I have to basically just order and return, order and return over the internet.
@TiagoInlineSkater

Hey Tiago! Wow, agressive skates? And can I ask your opinion of Rollerblades? Why do you prefer SEBA? I kind of ordered my skates in a hurry, as I got very enthusiastic, and this Rollerblade model Twister 80 2017 seemed great for its price (bought it with a 20% discount), also I should mention that I have size 13 feet, so there wasn't much to choose from... :/
@demdave24
@demdave24 7 лет назад
Btw, I'm getting to like this slalom thing very much, do I need to switch the center wheels to smaller size on all account or I can leave it as it is?
@TiagoInlineSkater
@TiagoInlineSkater 7 лет назад
Why do I prefer Seba? hum first of all, my 3 favorite inline skate brands are Seba, Powerslide, and Flying Eagle ( very promising brand). Seba is a french brand, and I'm french too xD if you come here in Paris, you'll see that a LOT of skaters use Seba :) slalom? yeah, this dicipline is just amazing :D to do the rocker, you have to put smaller wheels on the front, and back of your skates ( wheel 1, and 4 ), we also call this the Banana setup ( cause of the shape of the rocker ^^ )
@demdave24
@demdave24 7 лет назад
yeah, SEBA seems very fancy to me as well especially since you mentioned somewhere that they tend to have wider boots, and my Rollerblades are causing me some pain from the sides, so I reckon they are too tight for my feet...still, for now I gotta go with the Rollerblades, but next time when buying I surely will consider SEBAs! Thx for your reply!

get yourself some quality wheels with hardness adequate to your weight. I used to have to rotate my wheels after every session(stock wheels on cheap skates), I got myself some quality wheels, started breaking like crazy and still only rotate them after 3 or 4 sessions
@TiagoInlineSkater
@TiagoInlineSkater 7 лет назад
Hummm It depends on what I do, there are days where I just do slides, so the wheels wear off quite fast, but most of the time, i prefer working on other types of tricks :3 I'm not the best example, when it comes to "when to change your wheels" because, sometimes i change my wheels, just because I want to put a different color combination xD haha, but I usually change my wheels when they are really worn out ( & get stuck in every crack lol)

LOL I should do my own setup video. It would be fun, considering I'm using the same skates I've had since mid 90s... '^^ And maybe I could find out some information about them too, cause I can't find any, though I remember they did cost a lot of money back then and they were pretty decent skates (though they are plastic built they still handle rough treatment 20 years after, they have really great support and balance... They even have pre front-rockered frames). I have found the brand (Risport) is well known for doing high quality figure skates, but it seems they abandoned the freeskate type models years ago... :(

Lee Chang Interesting question! Without the tech gear ( cameras, headphones, battery banc ect ect) I think this setup costs...around 850 € / 900$ :o

Seba fr1 and I don't really like them :( They are too heavy and too bulky which makes slides more difficult

Martin Jacquemyns : strange, because the Fr1 are very good inline skate ! Good for slalom,slide( wheels are so important) training, .... I love mine, and i am a begginer...
