I believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY in buying real gold. It’s an investment that you wear everyday and goes with everything. It’s an easy way to make an outfit more chic. Love this video 💜
Buying real gold is easy when you have an allergy to nearly every other metal besides silver! 😭 I definitely agree that investing in gold is so worth it, though. They become pieces you can pass down.
In Bangladesh people don't consider 14 carat to be pure gold, and not very valuable. So the gold jewelleries in the markets starts from 18 carat. 21/22 carat gold is more available here, which is also very expensive. I wish we had these 14 carat cute pieces here.
Same as in my African country, I was so shocked when I saw people buying 14 and 18k considering it luxury gold. But to be honest I prefer the 20carat and above even though I bought one or two 18 carat peices. The higher carat ones are truly an investment that you can pass on.
@@sms1511 ohh yess in Bangladesh also people consider gold as not only jewelry, it's also kind of an investment. Most of my wedding jewelleries were 22 carat, cause my parents thought it's the purest.
tbh i've never cared about jewelry, i was just ok as long as it looked gold. I feel like now that i'm in my 20s i'm slowly opening up to the idea of investing on long term pieces starting with like rings maybeeeeeee and this video def helped bc all your pieces are sooooooooooooooo nice i cant wait to start investing in myself. I also love the idea of buying myself an "engagement" ring and wearing it on that same finger LOL like am i married? am i not? thats for me to know and you to not know ;)
Being south asian we only ever purchase 22k gold. I do think 14k-18k jewellery is more everyday wearable but I find that western countries overprice even 18k plated gold to such a ridiculous amount that it makes no sense to think such gold should be considered an investment at 14k-18k gold or 18k plated gold. It is 22k where the real value and investment is.
As Indonesian for jewellery started from 18K-24k (99.99% / 99.999% purity) daily wear , mostly Indonesian bought gold bar started from 1gr - 10gr to fun investment (long term) especially youngsters. And diamond not really interest (yet many also loves it but not for investment) because it's high (cut cost) buyback like 20% from total.

I think if you buy real Gold you should also consider the shade of gold you like. Personally, even though they are more pure, when it comes to yellow gold I don’t like 18 to 24 karats. It’s too yellow and ironically fake looking lol. White gold and platinum are also good to consider if you want to upgrade from silver.
This! The higher karats are cheap looking/too yellow/orange even though they are more valuable. However, I do believe this has to do with culture. Those who grew up seeing 22/24k certainly do not think this I'm sure.
Where I come from, any middle class, average income family would have a kilo of 22 karat gold jewellery. It’s an integral part of the way we dress and of our traditions and culture. Close family is invariable always given gifts of gold. We wear a LOT of gold. Mostly 22 karat.
Even though I don't wear rings or bracelets (I feel weird having anything on my wrists... I blame my childhood piano teacher, haha), I still enjoyed this video! For my necklaces I always do solid gold, and I am thinking about getting another one to stack, so this video gave me some ideas.
You’ll find that as you get older you will gravitate toward bigger and bolder gold jewelry. It speaks power and maturity. I would only buy 18 kt and above …never below 18 kt.
I love your collection!! I also wanted to let you know that the Argento Vivo pieces are always sterling silver underneath the gold, meaning it's probably not "tarnishing" but the silver underneath is actually oxidizing. When silver oxidizes, you can just use a silver polishing cloth and it'll go back to looking good as new!! The gold plating over time might wear off, but the sterling silver underneath is still a precious, long-lasting metal. I hope that helps - gold plating and gold vermeil nowadays are so popular, and I get sad when I see people thinking the pieces are "turning" and throw them away when they actually just need a nice clean.
being an indian its actually the norm to wear solid gold as its a sign of wealth so girl will get ear piercing at a very young age and many times the piercing is done by a ticker gold wire which is pointy at one end and is clamped shut as they are meant to be there for quite a few years
Real gold can absolutely tarnish depending on the base metals mixed into 9-22k gold jewelry. Get yourself some Tarn-X to keep your fine jewelry sparkling. It even works on plated jewelry. You're welcome.
I agree that if possible purchasing real gold is ideal. I’ll even up the ante by saying that you want to purchase 18k gold. It’s 75% gold, whereas 14k gold is less than 60% gold. The best carat is 24k but it’s much less durable because it’s over 90% gold.
24k gold is pure gold 100%. Gold has 24 parts therefore 24 of 24 is 100%. It’s extremely rare to find 24k jewelry because gold is an extremely soft metal.
@@blessyourheart175 actually, I had the opportunity to buy a 24k gold bracelet in Thailand when I purchased my first 18k bangle. Hate that I didn’t buy it then. It was stunning. I’ve never seen anything like it since.
I am allergic to every metal that is not solid 14 carat gold. I have invested in some new pieces. The main brands i love are italian brands. Ponte venchio and pesavento. They have cute jewelry that has a chain a hanger and it that hanger the diamond moves.i bought a pair of earrings from pesavento. There was something wrong with the posts. One was 2 mm thicker then the other. So they are gone to Italy. I hope i get one new pair back. I love them so much. They were half hoops with crushed diamonddust. The crumbles of the diamond and i bought ring from that brand also a big band with on top crushed diamonds real crushed diamonds. They were 18 carat gold the neckles, the ring and the earrings. I cant explain this really how it looks like. Maby you can find the images on google. Yes invested in them a lot but i am happy because i wear it every single day. It makes my outfit more interesting. I also have two bracelets i got them from my dad years ago. I also handed a old neckless to my daughter. She is 4 also real gold. She wears this every single day. It is expensive but you can wear it years and years. So my daughter can wear it when she gets older and enjoy those pieces as i do now.
If you’re going to buy gold as an investment, don’t buy any with stones on them as you cannot sell the stones with the gold. You would end up losing the value you payed for the stones when you resell to a gold buyer (since they’re looking to melt the gold only).
Another type of chain to be careful of is box chains! They also can break easily and are delicate. A really comfortable type of chain my favorite type of chain is the rope chain. Really pretty and not as delicate!
when Im at the point that I can afford gold handmade jewelry I will definitely also be ~that bitch~ with the engagement rings. they look soo good. I really want one with a sapphire or something
Loving your collection! I also wear dainty gold chains and wristlets. It’s an easy way to elevate an otherwise basic or off duty type look. Beautiful pieces, I’ll def be investing in some new gold pieces soon! 😍
@@maiamykante5108 they sold her 14K bc she's not Asian. When you sell Asian ppl gold the first thing they ask is what's the gold purity. I'm sure that the jewelry store in Long Beach had gold jewelry ranging from 14K-24K purity and yellow, white rose gold. They also cater to all ethnicity and they'll sell her jewelry regardless of race. I'm just saying that the Jeweler is Cambodian so they knows better than to show Asian ppl 14K. But 14K is real gold its just 50% gold-but culturally Asians dont consider it "real" gold.
Unfortunately, I think that's probably true. Honestly, this is the first time I'm hearing about 10-14K gold. Where I'm from, and where my parents are from 18K is considered more acceptable for everyday wear. If you're looking to invest, like Asia says, you'd buy 22-24K gold pieces.
Where is your cute jewelry box from??? Love it 100% agree with you on buying solid gold (or 925 silver if gold is out of the budget) for quality and as heirloom. It’s almost irresponsible how many influencers push plated, vermeil, or filled costume jewelry that won’t last and contributes to our fast fashion culture. Let’s be more sustainable. 🌏
Omgoodness, I gasped when you said you’re from LB since I’m currently a student here!! I’ll definitely have to check out your jeweler😍 I LOVE that asymmetrical chunky ring from your mom as well as the jade necklace! So cuteee!!! I subscribed😙🌸
Ugh, I wish I could buy jewelry. It bothers me so much. I want to so badly but I always feel like I have to focus on the necessities, but I've been doing that my whole life and you're so much younger than me and have so much jewelry while I have none. I hate being poor. I just want to have things and stop living on a thread.

Love your collection and your vibe! I have a question about the watches (which are so pretty by the way), I’m looking into buying one that like yours doesn’t have any time indictator lines on it and I’m wondering if you can actually tell the time on it and if you get used to it or whether they are just dress watches 😂 thanks!
I have news for her Even solid gold isn’t always an investment It all depends on the time and what the market is doing Gold filled also is great it does not tarnish
guys if u get gold it increases in value as time goes buy so like 5 years later it would be wayyyy more expensive then today and yall would be hella rich cop urself some gold bitches
100% agree with buying real solid gold, especially 18 to 22K gold pieces. Such a good investment (gold prices almost always increase) and its so durable for long term use. I personally think that 10K-14K may be less durable since it only has about 40-60% of gold. Have you ever thought about investing in 21K gold?
Gold is a soft metal though, so more of it means more likely to bend, scratch, and break. I personally don’t like 18k+ because of the color, but I’d only ever buy 18k for occasional pieces and 9-14k for daily pieces! I do actually prefer 9/10k for daily wear rings because they are the strongest and least likely to be damaged or show wear
@@Kimmie9553 yeah I do like the colour of 18k but 21k isnt actually that soft, despite what some may think. I have many 21k-22k pieces and you’d actually be surprised how durable and well they stay in shape! 😊
@@Kimmie9553 Despite what you think 22k is not that soft. South asians only really ever purchase 22k gold jewellery and their jewellery is passed on through generations with the jewellery looking in great shape for many years.
We don't buy anything less than 21 k here its considered to be very impure and not valuable in the southt east asia. Amazed to see buying 14 k jewellery in other parts of the world as investment :o and yes the diamond jewellery here is 18k
@@amandak.4246 But like i said there IS cheap/good priced waterproof stainless stail. I must say i do like real gold better but for some people who like jewellery the can buy stainless steel
As an american from middle class background, I have no idea how one would afford to only buy solid gold. The jewelry in my family is so large chunky and out of date.
