Nice! The algorithm recommended this out of nowhere. The bottle at 1:50 is pine extract drink (juoma = drink). Now I kinda wanna taste that 😂

The village and the airports are so empty because these are more winter holiday destinations. :) Hope you'll enjoy life in Saariselkä!

Which makes it worth to visit Lapland and Saariselkä in summer as well. The peace and quiet in the remoteness feels very decelerating, which is hard to find in other places in Europe.

Thank you! It is indeed a cute airport 😃In winter, the airport is much busier as it is close to the famous ski resort of Levi.

I've been at KTT airport when it's packed with charter flights, just before Xmas 😱 Yeah it's silent in summer, Lapland is 4x larger than Switzerland, with only 178,000 people :)

These are impressive facts! It is wonderful that such sparsely populated areas still exist in Europe. A paradise for nature lovers!

You should feel lucky for getting a job as a foreigner in such a secluded space. (as im sure you do) In Finland generally you will need finnish alot, its kinda hard to get a job without it, expecially outside of the south area, what makes this even better is that our minimum wages etc are kinda high so any job is a "decent" job. Honestly i think the less random people around you the better, thats why small towns are great. you have your usual friends and neighbours, but no annoying bicyclists, criminals, drag racers etc. whatever you can think of. Ofc i dont mean you shouldnt have any people around, i jsut mean living in big cities really makes you see the worst of humanity. no one wants to do bad shit in a village where everyone knows each other, and we got loads of those in Finland :D

Are there ticks there? i really love exploring the woods when theres no grass and bushes in the winter and early april and march but after may its imposible because theres so many ticks
@diego.travel
@diego.travel Год назад
There might be some ticks except in the most northern parts of Finnish Lapland. But I think less than in other areas and luckily there are no high bushes in the forest. In addition, as it is mostly rather chilly you are able to cover your legs with socks and pants.

Awesome place nd vlog , could you advice me how can I apply for a job there ?
@diego.travel
@diego.travel Год назад
Thank you very much! For the job you need to speak German or French as it is a Swiss tour operator. However, you can also apply to one of the local service providers such as Lapland Safaris.
