As a child, I won a Scalextric set in a competition decades ago! Now that I am a fully grown man-child, I am returning to my former love of... SLOT CARS! www.scalextric.com/ #scalextric #slotcar
I came back into it last year, first thing I found was that my KITT wouldn't run on my old track, first expense, it's got dear since, spent over 300 at one show alone. Who cares, 2nd (or is it 3rd) childhood here I come. Hop you have a great time.
just like you i started on slot cars very young.took some time away from it and came back to it.the only difference now is i gone for carrera over scalextric, as i wanted to race digital, i put two sets together created the sub-bass race circuit. now having fun chasing the ghost cars, or in the case of the ktm xbow, it chasing me.keep up the great work, we do not look down on scalextric,we are all slot car hobbists regaurdless of the brand we choose, both have their own pros and cons, but we work together not against eachother
It's strange how amazon are charging almost twice the price for the knight rider set when the batman one is almost the same. In my opinion opinion scalextric charge too much for their sets in general
I remember these things I had one that had loops and banked turns. The number one problem with these sets was the cars they used a brush style on the cars that would sweep along the track and that would pick up the electricity. The brushes would get worn out and dirty and would have to be replaced constantly.
I don't see that as an issue or a problem. It's all part of the fun. They don't get worn out that quickly plus the are readily available and cheap to replace and adds to that simulation of replacing wear and tear parts, just like the real cars! 😅
