Just got accepted for a degree in Computer Science, been so skeptical to get another qualification since I'm already qualified in health sciences, but I'm really passionate about tech and thanks for this video because there's been a lot of "you don't need another degree, just do short certificates" voices. I don't just wanna knowledgeable but employable, so thank you for sharing this🙏
6 months is enough to become to be landed a junior developer role! Nowadays they look for people with more or less 5 years experience for a junior developer role. That's insane.
That is not true at all. Senior roles look for 5 years. Junior is less than 1 year, maybe 2 max. And even then 2 years is Intermediate at some companies. Not sure where you got this information from
Thank you sir for this video. I have always felt like an imposter when I try and do something that other people deem as hard or difficult, such as computer science. But this video gave me a lot of inspiration. I needed this, good video
I just graduated with a Computer Systems Engineering Degree last December , and I've been offered an internship at a company that offers cloud service and uses Microsoft Azure. So see you in the cloud MR BUMA!! Nice story
I dont live in south Africa anymore im overseas studying in artificial intelligence engineering degree but i want to return once im done with my degree and hopefully get a software(machine learning, python developer or full stack) job in cape town , do you think with no work experience id be able to land a entry level job or should i work overseas for a year or two before deciding to shift back to sa?
If you have the opportunity to work for a yea or two overseas rather do that. Its gonna make it very easy for you to get a job when you return than coming back with just a degree and no experience
Yeah ,there are a lot of resources that can get you there.Based on what I know currently a lot of companies are looking for skills. Depending on which path you want follow some just need critical thinkers. When it comes to math I think that come in if you wanted to follow the data path like being a data scientist ,data engineering
Mr BM you're my only role model in this industry in South Africa🙏🏾💯...I want to study Computer Science/Information Technology here in SA,are the careers in these fields in high demand?
Hello how are you. Nomthandazo here. I am currently a qualified educator. I'd like to make a career change. I applied for Software Engineering at Eduvos. Not sure if it's a good institution to help me get to where I want to be. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Have a blessed day.
Which laptop would you recommend to buy for someone on a budget (below R10000) that would get them through the entire course? Thanks for the video btw. Very motivating🙏🏻
Good day chief, i recently received a IT project to do a simple calculator program using Visual Basic. Im doing distance studies and iv been searching the net for tutorials and all, all examples I get my codes are always just throwing out errors. Can you please point me in the right direction, what videos can I watch so I can better understand. Would highly appreciate it.
Try getting assistance on ChaGPT, you can post your code that you have and ask it like how you would ask a human being and its gonna point you in the right direction about where you going wrong.
When applying for a job having done Microsoft certification won't the institution be a problem because I think those Microsoft one you can do them at the comfort of your home not having to go to any college?
@@musicbox6574 It depends on the company willing to accept you with just the certification but honestly speaking, the certifications becomes a lot more advantageous when you have a college certification.
Computer isn’t hard. I’m sure you’ll definitely enjoy the coding part of it. The hard part about it is the math. You’ll do a lot of math modules like Real analysis, multi variable calculus and differential equations. That’s the hard part about it. But if you stay strong and soldier on you’ll be fine
Hello, I love being a software developer or engineer so which language should I start with, because i hear some say its best to start with web (html css JavaScript) and some python so plz help me with that
You are on the right track, I would suggest you focus mainly on HTML, CSS and JavaScript and leave Python for now. Dive more deep into JavaScript by learning some JS Frameworks(e.g. NodeJS, Next JS etc)
@BMTVSA thank you My cousin says he saw your bhubesi in Obs 😂...I so wish to see the bhubesi too since I regularly visit in Obs I'm studying in UWC by the way first year...looking forward to run in to you by mistake...your videos are what motivated me through out Matric and they motivate me even now...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MY GUY.🫡
3:39 "1. Once you graduate the only thing you must worry about is getting experience 2. Cause once you have 6 months of experience is enough to lend you a junior permanent role and then from then on the sky's the limit cause 3. the more experience you gain the more money you make, 4. the more experience you gain the more money you make, 5. the more experience again the more money you make So that's how it is" Moral of the story: The more experience again the more money you make!!! Syabonga Bafo😂🙏
Just discovered your channel, I'm loving all the content. I'm in my final year of university with UNISA, I am also enrolled with alx, it's really though but I feel what they are doing with their programme is really great at awakening people's talents
@@maboneshwebang5643 it's fully online. I have never set foot at a unisa building 😂. You need English and maths I think. But I would do bsc informatics if I were you, much more versatile
great story Buma! can i ask why you decided to move from computer science at UKZN to IT at a private institution. Thank you for the very informational video!
You have to apply the right way, what i have seen is that most graduates don’t know how to apply and thats why they find it difficult landing the first job
Nothing, its an okay programme but not tailor made for the South African market. Theres better platforms in SA like WeThinkCode, Umuzi etc. Rather you try the South African based platforms then if you cant get space then go for ALX
After homeschooling for my high school career, and getting my American GED. I applied to a private international college here in Joburg, and I got accepted to do Software Development! I start tomorrow so it's been very valuable hearing from people with real experience like you and it sets my mind at ease, I only touched coding once for a week or so learning a bit of C++ to make a calculator so I was nervous about the idea of going into a professional learning environment for it, but I think I'll do fine :)
@@BMTVSA you said you passed your math and physics with a level 5,i meant that you had no choice but to pass because the management and punishment on that school was something else
