How do people live in Burkina Faso? I've been two weeks in a village with neither power nor running water and in this video I tell you about how it was and about some big changes in my life.

There are places none talks about, as it is for some war we don't know anything about or some other beautiful things that happen in this world.
And I didn't heard anyone talking about Burkina Faso before meeting Mahamadi.
I didn't know how much my life and the life of my family was going to change the day we met.
He arrived in Italy by boat, as others, from Libya, when revolt started against the regime of Gheddafi.
But the way he arrived in Italy since when he left home it's another story.
And I hope I will tell you one day.
In this video I show you a small part about what happened after the landing.
But first of all, I need to tell you something.
If I'm able to tell you this incredible story about the village of Béguédo, it's because I made an important choice in the last two years.
I worked hard and I got lost many times between self-doubts and thoughts, before I believed that I can live my life doing what I'm passionate about. In the last two years, during pandemic and lockdown, I decided to believe in a dream, and to invest and study to gain the skills I need to create this tale.
Mahamadi and I went in Burkina Faso last June.
I wanted to know the word he came from, I wanted to meet his mother and siblings, his grandma, and I wanted to touch Africa.
The wild and true Africa, where houses are huts with a straw roof or made of wall brick with metal sheet on top, with no power nor running water.
Béguédo is the name of the village where I've been for two weeks and where Mahamadi was born.
Bintu his wife.
Abi his son.
The most incredible thing is that this was not just my trip.
It was also Bintu and Abi's journey to a new life. A life in Italy.
On the flight back, there were also them with us.
After four years of bureaucratic struggles and endless wait, Bintu and Abi obtained their visa to legally move to Italy and live like a normal family.
All together, with no more face call on whatsapp, neither different time zone.
I don't know how to can I explain how I was feeling during this trip, from the beginning to the end.
It was my first time going in a third world country, and it was their first time going in the word I came from.
I want to dedicate this video:
To my dad, that has always believed in this story and he decided to risk so much, even if it was not his personal dream;
To Mahamadi, that let me understand that dreams come true if you completely believe. Even when waves get so high like tsunami;
To lost dreamers, the dare and try. Because the way to your true self can be found only after you get lost.
