Olympia Shopping Centre in East Kilbride.Michael Barrymore's My Kind of People talent show......
My Kind of People is an ITV television show presented by British entertainer Michael Barrymore broadcast in 1995. Barrymore traveled around the country in his customised sports car visiting shopping centres, amateurs performed on a stage for the programme unrehearsed.
Some acts were simply shown performing together with the audience reaction, whereas others were interviewed by Barrymore or shown inter-dispersed with footage of Barrymore to the side of the stage engaged in foolish behaviour in order to get reactions from the audience. Often Barrymore would join the act on stage and continue the tomfoolery.

i was actualy in that audience and watched this live. i live near east kilbride and enjoyed this that day around 1994 i think it was. i remember this very clearly like it was yesterday.

@@danielwilliamson6180 Some one raped and murdered him! Why would Barrymore invite a total stranger to his house? And give a total stranger drugs and booze and free rein in his house. And then someone else rapes and murders him In Barrymore’s pool. Why would Barrymore’s assistant steal and get rid of evidence for someone else. What makes no sense is believing Barrymore innocent.

i remember watching my kind of people live from merry hill shopping centre but i lost the vhs tv recording of the episode. so i'm wondering if anyone planning to upload the episode taken from merry hill shopping centre in brierley hill?
