This game was a big part of my child same as star wars. Lol made me laugh u called Roku Anikan. Anyway great reaction KH music and child hood memories are one amazing combination. Masterpiece for children who grew up with these characters. Happy new years and good luck to you
I've been playing kingdom hearts since ps2 it's amazing I hope they bring back the final fantasy side of it instead of just pixar like kingdom hearts 3, I was gutted when they got rid of it I love the final fantasy games. I have them all.
I loved every single one of your videos!!! Please i would love to see your play through of Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee, i know you will love it ❤️
I've been playing Kingdom Hearts since I was around 6, and I would always shut off the PS2 whenever I got to the Darkside boss during the Awakening stage because I was afraid. Eventually, I decided to finally build up courage and defeat him, and afterwards I got to experience it. And boy was it a wonderful adventure.
I can relate 😅 I used to be terrified of the heartless as a kid, mostly because they appear out of nowhere. But then when I got to Hollow Bastion, I was even more scared. The dark balls, the defenders and eventually the invisibles in EotW... They looked hella scary.
You can lose to the dark side nothing will happen (the whole point the cutscene doesn’t change if you win or lose it’s a fix point in the game , it only meant to teach you your controls it’s the tutorial portion of the game)
As someone who is really excited to have you along for a ride that I've been on since I was in the sixth grade, I just want to say... "What a journey you and I have had," and "there is more to seek, so go forth now and seek it."
I absolutely love seeing videos like this one. Kingdom Hearts is and always will be a special journey that I can't imagine not sharing with people, and seeing your reactions to these games means a lot to me and everyone else I'm sure. Thank you!
From eight years old in 2002 to twenty-seven in 2021, this series means just as much if not more to me. No matter how much time passes. I don’t think I’d be the same person I am today without learning so much about emotion from these games growing up. Wouldn’t change a thing. Glad they can have the same affect on you all these years later. ❤️
Same thing , I got KH 1 the same time I got my PS2 (very first console I had for myself when I was 7 ) and boi did KH touched me. Yeah the plot got weird around 3 but still the memories will linger forever
@@ZgermanGuy. True, and this is very effective, especially after you finally win just to be met with "Yes! Now the score is 1 to 23!" But when introducing this game to my fiancée, who had almost no experience in games, the fact that you have to finish this janky platforming right off the bat could be a real turn-off for this game.
Forgive me if I'm repeating myself but thank you for the video. KH1 is a marvel that shouldn't work, but does and will forever hit me in the heart, janky controllers, camera and all. KH is clearly very special and important to you. Thank you again for sharing your journey with us.
26:56 to answer this question: if disney Japan and Squaresoft did not share an office building and get the ball rolling for this game to be made, square would not have bounced back financially and merged with Enix. The company would've gone bankrupt before the end of the decade. This game is among the most important video games of all time for that reason.
Thank you for joining the side to fight the darkness. Ive always seen kingdom hearts as more than a game but also a message. While playing the games the main focus is to fight the darkness, while you do that in the game you can say you are doing that in your own life aswell. You fight your own darkness and if you need it, seek help from your friends around you. As cheesy as it is, your friends ARE your power. Family is often judging. You need to meet their standards, while your friends (your true friends) are there for you no matter what. Ill keep this short tho cause im at work but i can go on for HOURS on how this game changed my life and the way i see the world around me. Thank you for playing my childhood (and as sad as it is) my family
It really is wild thinking about how different this video could be if Violet edited it and uploaded it before playing the rest of the games in the series. It is such a trip revisiting this video content after so long.
This just made my whole morning! I’ve been playing kingdom hearts since I was like 8 with my mom, and fell madly in love with the series. Seeing you experience the games and falling just as in love as the rest of us just makes me so happy, thank you so much for sharing your Kingdom Hearts journey and can’t wait to see what’s in store next for us and you cause you make amazing content for all us fans! Glad we all share the same sky, one sky one destiny
Watching this made my day. I love going back and playing the games from the beginning. They were a major part of my childhood and am so glad to see other people enjoying the series. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing your first experience with the franchise. It has a different flavor after playing all games hasn't it? Your reactions are always precious and genuine, it's a pleasure to watch your videos. Now you're a part of the big KH family! 💖
It’s always so precious to someone play a game you know and love for the very first time and see it through their perspective with new eyes. I was a sobbing mess the first time i played this and this wad so heartwarming and fun to watch. ✨💖🥰💖✨
Violet, I’ve absolutely loved watching your reactions to the entire Kingdom Hearts series. It’s a series that I’ve followed for half of my life, and I have a deep love for it. I love how you get so into the themes and characters. Your analyses of what’s going on have always been so entertaining to hear. I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next in KH, and your reactions to it.
I am so happy I found this. Kingdom Hearts is my favorite video game series of all time and I have been looking for a way to relive that feeling when you first play it and this was amazing. I can't wait to watch the rest of the videos in this series.
Thank you! I deeply felt that Intro. I know that feel one can sense in you there. It was Beautiful to get Reminded and it almost felt like I Shared that Feeling with you. May Sound strange but to Share something that deeply reached your heart felt like Love. Thanks for that.
Character age (official) Sora is 4 in BBS, 14 in KH, 15 in KH2, 16 in KH3, 17 in Remind unless he is frozen. Kairi is 4 in BBS, 14 in KH, 15 in KH2, 16 in KH3, 17 in Remind Riku is 5 in BBS, 15 in KH, 16 in KH2, 17 in KH3, 18 in Remind Terra is 20 in BBS, Xemnas 31 (his body) KH2, 20 in KH3 (restored), 21 in Remind unless spending a year in realm of darkness Aqua is 18 in BBS and KH3 due to not aging in Realm of Darkness, 19 in Remind unless spending a year in realm of darkness Ventus at least 12 in KHUX, since he merged his heart with a newborn Sora in BBS after his heart was split. 16 in BBS and KH3 since his body was kept in stasis, 17 in Remind unless he spent a year in realm of darkness Roxas and Xion are physically 14 in Days, 15 in KH2 and KH3 at point of restoration and they should be 16 as of Remind Namine is physically 14 in Days, 15 in KH2 and KH3 due she to being restored and is 16 in Remind Xehanort is 14 to 16 in Dark Road, 18 to 20 as Young Xehanort, 80 when he splits Ventus and Vanitas, 84 in BBS and DDD, 85 in KH3 This doesn't make sense but Eraqus is the same age as Xehanort if not a year or 2 young to reflect the Riku and Sora dynamic meaning 12/13 to 14/15 in Dark Road, 16/17 to 18/19 during the graveyard scene, 78 to 79 when he adopts Ventus and 82 to 83 when he dies. (That light is keeping him young!) Lea and Isa are around same age as ven so 16, if not 17 in BBS, 17 or 18 when they became nobodies and then if they did age they would be 27 or 28 in KH2 and 28 or 29 in KH3. If they didn't age then Lea and Isa should be same age as Aqua at 18 or 19 in KH3
Just wanted to say that I love your kingdom hearts content and I love coming back to all of these videos because they make me smile, laugh, cry, and make me replay all of these amazing games again 😭 I also really love your interpretations even if I don't feel as strongly about a couple things as you do I really love how you much you care about this wonderful series and it makes me happy that you do as well as so many others and you have amazing content plus I feel like as a community we appreciate how much time and effort that you take to not only play all of the games but also to take the time to edit them and put so much love and dedication into editing these videos as well 😭
This was such an interesting watch! It's fun to see how your view of this series started to form as it was happening. Seeing you react to the kh1 tutorial questions on the islands really connects the bridge to you answering similar questions in kh ddd. Also it was fun seeing the ff characters reactions and the funny blip of you finding the how to use short cuts then completely ignoring it for the next 7ish games. Looking back after absorbing the rest of the games must have been fun considering all the plot points and Easter eggs they put in the original title, our guy Nomura is truly a mad genius for thinking so far ahead of himself! I've seen pieces of your recom experience and look forward to see what you do with that video as it probably my favorite of the series! Thanks for letting us ride along on this journey with you Violet! Can't wait to scream about 20th anniversary stuff with you this year!
Kingdom Hearts isn’t just a game you play. It’s a game that touches your heart and doesn’t let go of it for life. A game that can take all the tears it made me shed and the nostalgia I felt despite never playing it in my life.
No, thank you for expressing this awsome jornuey and to have another one there is no word to describe except Thank you. May your heart be your guiding key.
KH1 holds a special place in my life, me and my highschool best friends where huge KH fans.10 years later we part ways and we don't talk anymore. Watching KH1 ending made me cry because it made me miss the days when we were still friends, some days I wish things where like back then but that's hows life. That game also taught me that no matter what, you are always capable of overcoming anything.
I was watching your Union X video, noticed I had a new RU-vid notification, and yelled "FUCK YEAH" in front of a highly amused customer. This is the best present I've gotten all Christmas. May your heart be your guiding key.
I was so gutted that she looked away before seeing that Kairi changed the picture at the end... Its like...the most perfect shot to end the game on before the credits roll That last 'I love you too'
It’s been so fun to watch this series. Your reactions to everything is great. I’m shook this time we didn’t get a Kingdom hearts is gay. That journey started later. 😂
Man I miss Kairi from the first game. She had little screen time but she had personality. It just seemed to have less and less of it as the series went on until 3 made me hate her. As for Riku..... please be mine. He really was the most interesting character and deserved his own game. I do find it funny that a lot of new commers think Sora and Riku were younger than they were. They were 14 and 15 in this game respectively. The original ps2 game came with a game booklet and told players their ages, but new games don't come with those booklets anymore.
Oh my gosh I absolutely love your content!!! I always cry along with you, and I feel like you have such a beautiful soul and must be such a nice person IRL!! You just give off those vibes lol, like maybe an empath. Anyways! Loved the video!
Especially since Kingdom Hearts probably holds the same emotional corner in my heart the same as you makes this co-op journey that much more meaningful
I’m sure someone’s told you, but it’s funny you mentioned that you thought of Rapunzel from Tangled when you saw Aerith, cause they actually have the same VA.
Calling the last boss the Titanic when Ansem was played by Billy Zane. Nice. Wonder whether that was where that reference came from, that chat told her.
loved watching your journey, congratulations again on fully experiencing the games and thanks for letting us be a part of that once in a lifetime ride with you!! 🤗
I played KH1 PS2 when I was 8? Then played 1.5 KH1 on release, but then I played 1.5 KH1 again with my partner and 39:48 took me by complete surprise as it was not in the original PS2 KH1... Right ?
I am 31 Years old and a proud Kingdom Hearts Fan! I also want to thank everyone who gave this Series a Chance. Thank you very much! May your Heart be your guiding Key!
This is such a great reaction video, your reactions are so honest and real, I can so feel with you. It's great to be able to kind of experience this game for the first time again with you. Also thank you for putting the subtitles there when you have to cover up the opening and ending themes, not everyone does that and I'm always left wondering what they are saying and what they think of the theme😂I am looking forward to your reaction to Chain of Memories! I'd like to wait for that one before seeing the others just to keep up with your progress and think along with you. Thank you SO much, cannot wait to see more!
Hi! Just found your channel. Good work so far! If you like games with the same quality as KH, Zelda and FF (XV), may I recommend you to play Nier Replicant 1.22 and Nier Automata (in that order)? The story, the characters, THE MUSIC - it will hit you unlike anything else. Sidenotes: - you’ll need a PS4 (Pro, preferably) - I HIGHLY advise you do sidequests in both games. They’re made so as to delve deeper into the characters’ everyday lives and struggles - and the world around them - The more you do them, the more it affects the overall story in the end. I would very much like to hear your thoughts om this - Regards,
I was really young when the first KH came out on PS2 so I didn’t play it. I saw commercials for the DS games and was very confused seeing Disney characters alongside spiky-haired Japanese characters I hadn’t seen before. Then I read up on the series online and I got really interested, so I got HD 1.5 ReMIX and I was hooked. “The core theme of Kingdom Hearts is these evil adults controlling and manipulating kids.” I feel that! It’s something that comes up a lot in this series. I think KH is at its best when it tackles young people’s experiences. That’s probably why the “Looks like my summer vacation is over” line in Kingdom Hearts II hits so hard. It communicates a lot of complicated feelings in very simple language that lots of people can relate to. This is a really emotional series, and that’s why I’ve been enjoying watching people play it for the first time this year.
Dang, I always forget that the Simple and Clean instrumental isn't a pre establish disney song. It feels like a grand celebration of Disney and when the intro of BBS when it shows Fantasia Mickey with that song playing it feels so right.
To this day, I remember popping that PS2 disk into my console and entering a world I never thought I could love. 4 years old, playing a game so intrigante with this style of gameplay really caused me to think hard on what I had to do. Although, I could never get through the 3rd world so easily. Since I couldn't read at the time. Until I was 8.
Watching someone going through the motions of discovering KH1 & getting into it is something that sparks wonder & awe. Yes, this game was made, yes it is emotional. You just feel what a first timer goes through & that spark reminds me of when I first played it, I had cried during the ending credits. The only things I couldn't/wouldn't do is fill out Jimminy's journal & beat Sephi. Now with the final mix version I haven't really given the new super boss a go but I would probably lose either way. I also forget if Mushroom 13 is in this game.
Crying within the first five minutes of the game. Boys and girls….we got ‘em. Also there’s no way that this game would get made in this day and age, I agree!
I still have ptsd from the race with riku, child me got destroyed. I beat him like 35 to 34 lol. If the final boss was a race I'd still be playing it till this day.
Riku officially inherited the keyblade from Terra but because he gave his heart to darkness the Keyblade moved in to Sora because Riku was no longer worthy, but technically Riku is the chosen one not Sora, Sora became one out of technicality because he harbours Ventus heart
the time between about 2000 to 2010 there were SO many games that not only tried new things but tried to combine SO many genres - it's a thing I miss from todays AAA climate. sadly I don't think Kingdom hearts could be made today. maybe even 10 years ago it would be difficult to imagine, cuz so many games got focused or homogenised into only it's one genre. for legit time/energy/effort reasons and what goes into making a AAA quality game nowadays but still, I feel like we're losing out on so much potential, for what? "the game has to sparkle a certain way and the shadows and textures have to be 4k ...."
41:20 just enjoying some Kingdom hearts but don't let this video distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
