These are very cheap used now, especially considering their quality. This thing blows away anything Roland has made in the last 20 years. I'm getting one locally tomorrow, upgrading from a k2000. Gosh. Life is beautiful.
I'd strongly recommend watching Jordan Rudess' videos on youtube about his Kurzweil and how to program it. It's like an hour long and you will literally learn everything you need to know. I recently watched it and I'm already creating new sounds and understandings the sliders and just how powerful this synth really is.
These programs are awesome! You really know how to unlock the sonic potential if this instrument. I purchased a K2600X back around 1999 or so and still happy with my choice. This video confirms it even more. Thanks for making this video and showcasing your talent.
Somewhere, someone got the impression that this was just another Rompler and it stuck in so many people's minds, without understanding just how much power this machine has with VAST, and incredible synthesis possibilities. Plus the KDFX, while not convolution, still sounds better than any software verb I've tried. Yes, it's that good.
The filter things on individual controllers is cool. The only reason "Jump" came out that way is because you never really tried to play it because your hand speed and obvious recall of classical arppegio requires far greater skill than "jump." Recalling a fairly accurante rendition of the marimba track on "Africa" again belies skill. Good demo with the correct emphasis drawn on the unique characteristics of each respective voice. This board is still relevant today. I can't tell if this one has expanded memory or sampling option. I wonder also if the key action is the same as the PC series. If it is, this is still a very competent bread and butter synth. The sonic quality is very rich.
At 5:20, it's the EXACT sound played at the end of the "Hitcher" movie with little Rutger Hauer. Amazing. Always did love that sound. Now I know where it came from. LOL!
Hi, I've seen that video of yours once again. Fantastic sounds. I'm sorry that I just wrote a few words now. I have had my kurzweil k2600x for two years. I bought a used one of course, but along with a case from the UK. I am very happy about this keyboard; I enjoy playing it, but I still know how to use it in limited ways and don't know much else. I was able to buy from the USA separately for it two floppy packages: (1xbox12 installation floppy disks) and (3xbox analog collecxtion floppy disks). I got to know it a bit and practiced. However, I still have the impression that I do not know much of the K2600x dust setting to use it fully and in my opinion I use it with very limited possibilities due to the fact that the manual I have is in English. unfortunately I don't have the PL version, I couldn't find it anywhere. Inside I have an orchastral and contemporary card, but unfortunately I don't have a stereo piano and an el piano .... I feel very sad for that .. @mikak3607 That is because Kurzweil has priced themselves out-of-the-market and very little improvements as time went by. Everyone is plugging in the competition's keyboard videos. A used radias keyboard will bring in more than a used K2600. Having said that, I own a K2000 & K2500 as well as the Radias.
I bought an SY77 because it was the most complex synth I could find at the time. I owned it for over a decade & it was fantastic. I sold it for a K2500, which I still own today. I’d say the kurzweil is easier than the Yamaha, with

Cool sounds. I happen to own a k2600 and I was wondering something. Are these patches presets for the keyboard or were they custom made? Just wondering because my k2600 is missing some of these patches and I don't know whether my keyboard simply doesn't have them or just ignorance of how to use my instrument. Just wondering.

Hey guy, nice patches. I was curious as how to program the controllers for real time performances without using a pedal. I just bought this keyboard but I don't understand some of the functions. Can you please help me out. For example: say you're playing brass and bass, but you want to add some type of piano after the intro, then you want to turn down the volume of the brass during your performance. How would get this done?
I'm doing a theater show with a hundred changes among a dozen or more patches. Where do you create the list of patches that the controller cycles through, Quick Access? Thanks.

Il piano a 3.30 è il Triple Srike o lo Stereo Piano? Sono interessato alla K2600 ma in rete non riesco a trovare un file da scaricare con il Triple Strike Piano. Grazie

Ho letto sul sito della Kurzweil che tra le rom fisiche che si possono acquistare (ormai introvabili) ce n' è una chiamata (RM3-26) Stereo Dynamic Piano ROM e che dovrebbe proprio essere quella che contiene il Tripe Strike. Tu non hai installato nulla di aggiuntivo sulla tua k2600? Perchè il tuo suono di piano mi piace molto nel caso in cui quel piano fosse lo stock io non dovrei acquistare nessuna rom introvabile. Alessandro Cance Purtroppo non ricordo bene questa situazione, però credo sia difficile trovare una K2600 senza queste ROM ;) io ho la ROM di cui parli ma non ricordo se in quel program l'ho usata o no
