Watch Part 2 of my postpartum story: • Video
Hey guys, long time no see! I'm back from my hiatus and will start uploading content on a weekly basis again. :) Please give a thumbs up for my little guest in this video. ^_^ Today I'm finally going to share Logan's (aka Jellybean) birth story with you. My apologies for taking so long but I hope you understand how I felt. Every birthing experience is different and I have so much respect for those who go through it! Labor and delivery is not easy but in the end, it is so rewarding. :)
After delivery, adjusting to life as a mom was very overwhelming-- more so than I ever imagined. I had some serious complications after which I did not address in this video. I'll update you on that in the next postpartum video. Thank you for tuning in! See you next week!

Very sweet story! Isn't it funny how right after the baby comes you forget the pain? Both my girls were over 8 pounds, it was kinda ice for being a first time mom having a bigger baby made me feel more comfortable because I wasn't afraid to break them LOL

8lbs is too big? I was born 10lb and 4 oz and my mother gave natural birth. Is it really that hard to give birth to a baby that is 8lbs? This is really making me question if I want kids in the future. I don't think I can handle labour pains for hours, I mean I cry from a freakin paper cut.

You are a good story teller I love how descriptive you were 😊 brought back some memories of both my deliveries and let me tell you I wanted to have a big family but after my 2nd baby I was like no no more this is too painful mind you I went all natural on both it was intense alright so for now i'm good with two, i'm deeply terrified of the epidural also 🙈 enjoy motherhood may you have a happy mother's day 💐

My 1st and only child was born within 11 hours of my 1st contraction. They had to break my water. When they told me to start pushing, I pushed 3x and she was out. I tore so they had to stitch me up. The doctor that did my epidural did a great job. Very little pain. The hardest part was when the nurse took her to the nursery. She was gone a long time. That stressed me out.

I had to get induced. I labored for 24 hours, my epidural barely worked and I gave birth to a healthy 9 pound baby boy. That was a traumatic experience. But of course I'd do it all over again, because they are so worth it! 💙👶🏼

omg! we went through the same exact situation! it is very scary. When you said you were shaking uncontrollably, I remember that too! Its so worth it once you see your baby though😊 When people ask me if I'm having more, I'm like it was so traumatic I don't think I want too! our baby's are about 8 months apart! loved hearing this story to know that I'm not alone!

gueriitaa0322 congrats! I had my baby girl almost three months ago and she was my first too.. I suggest the moment you think you start having contractions, keep yourself busy! The day I started having what I thought were contractions I ran so many errands and I think that helped speed up the labor and made it easier. Before you know it your little girl will be in your arms :)

your birth story sounded a lot like mine! I was in the hospital for 5 days. I labored for 3 days and on the third day they broke my water and I went 12 hours with broken waters before they said i needed a csection. I also had a big baby I'm 5'3 and my son was 8lb 11oz!

Wow! This is almost exactly like my birth story. Except I was in labor for 40 hours! And my water had been broken that long. I also didn't have an epedurial. Now looking back at it I wish I did. They gave me pitocin to make my contractions stronger and I was fully dilated. I pushed for almost 4 hours. And finally they decided it was time for a c section. It was the most painful thing I've ever went through. And recovery is so hard! I still feel like I'm recovering. But all worth it in the end. I also had a son, and he's going to be 3 months soon. Your baby boy is so precious! God bless you and your beautiful family❤️
@jennilcee
@jennilcee 7 лет назад
Helen Hines wow! I was so scared he was going to get vacuumed out, or they were going to use forceps. But I think they knew he wasn't coming, I was pushing with all the strength I had, and nothing. He was sunny side up as well. I wish I would've had an epideral, I think it would've helped, my body was just too tired and exhausted. I only had a few hours of sleep. I planned for an all natural birth, almost made it. I think that you will be fine with your 2nd, they always say the 1st is the hardest. Good luck I hope you have a better experience with this labor.

It's funny that you mention forgwtting the pain because that is actually true. Female bodies produce a hormone that will make them forget how pain- and stressful the birth was, so that they will have more babies.

its crazy how im starting to hear more and more stories similar to mine being told now that I've had children. im 24 and had my first child in February of last year. im also crazy, in that my second child was born in march, only 1 year 13 days and 19 mins apart from my first child! haha my first child was a week late so they induce me. i had some complications but the short story is; i was in labor for 23 hour and my cervix went from 9 cm to 6 cm, and they told me i needed to have a c section. so, during that time i was in and out from the drugs they were giving me so i dont remember everything. all i remember was a nurse telling my what theyd be doing and that id feel some pressure but nothing sharp. so hubby comes in and all i remember is saying, " pressure pressure sharp SHARP" and i got knocked out. when i woke up my husband handed me our 8 lb 20 in baby girl.

I had a similar birthing experience. I didn't have a c-section, but I did get pitocin with 2 minute contractions that were less than 30 seconds apart (so yes you were having contractions similar to being on pitocin). I was also stuck at 4cm until I got the epidural and my son was born two hours later! My birth was less than ideal because I wanted to walk around and utilize the birthing bath, etc, etc, etc. My son is almost two now and I could give two craps about what hole he came out of. We are both happy and healthy and that's all that matters. ❤️ You are amazing and made an amazing human being and I'm glad you both are ok now!

My waters was tinged as well. I woke up at 6:30am with a pop feeling and I instinctively ran to the bathroom and it was a lot of blood. It never stopped gushing so it was hard for me to labor while walking. Still don't know what the blood was. I labored for 20 hours before I finally reached 4 cm then 3 hours later I was at 10cm and then 2 hours of pushing and he was born. 25 hours total I almost had to have a c section too but luckily they didn't bug me about it. It was hard to push though because I couldn't feel anything from the waist down.

It is actually false to say that you as a smaller frame woman "wouldn't have been able to have a vaginal birth" of a 8lb and above baby. It's discouraging to woman who are smaller framed. I've heard many labor stories of "smaller framed" women that have given vaginal births to 9+ pound babies. That statement isn't very accurate bc your "frame" or weight/height doesn't matter. Your body knows what to do and the amazing thing is your cervix knows to open big enough for baby to come out. Granted, there are several other safety factors involved and everyone is different but the issue is more that Dr's and hospital staff use fear to to persuade the mother into something that she doesn't want but ultimately doesn't need. I wish there was more effort by medical professionals about the topic of labor. So much research is out there on benefits and risk of vaginal, c-section, home, hospital, birthing center births but we have to look. I strongly recommend watching these documentaries...The Business of Being Born, More of the business of being born (this one is in episodes and more detailed in different types of birthing options) and lastly, Pregnant in America. They are eye opening and so encouraging bc it gives you information, facts, all types of birth stories so that you can make the right decisions for yourself. Don't worry, it isn't persuading you into any certain way to birth. Just good information. I'm sorry your birth story wasn't what you envisioned but I'm glad you are embracing it now and hopefully now you will feel more prepared in your next delivery. Don't ever forget that YOU carried and birthed your healthy baby boy. Moms are strong and courageous! How about those contractions!? They are no joke. So painful, like why does it have to be that painful?!!! Lol but birthing a baby no matter how we as woman do it, is an amazingly beautiful and emotional experience. The one thing about my birth story that I wish hadn't happened was that I had a very small tear but thankfully I didn't need stitches. My troubles came from breastfeeding. That journey was a very emotional, heartbreaking, joyous, rewarding and painful experience for me. I hope your breastfeeding journey has been amazing! I think you endured quite a bit already especially for a first time momma. Look at you now though! Glowing, strong and proud! Our hardships don't define us, they strengthen us to be better and we can learn a lot about ourselves too. Your son is beautiful and I know he sees you as an amazing and loving momma. He doesn't care how he came into they world. He just cares that he is in your loving arms. 💗 sending you hugs!!

Ok Andi she probably meant small as in the way her hips are set.
@EsmieMae
@EsmieMae 7 лет назад
heyshaybee Yes :) I was told that I had small hips that were narrow my whole life. I'm 5'3" (5'4" on a good day lol) and I aways vary around 100lbs. Actually my pedi told me at like 10 that my hips were too small and it really killed my confidence growing up. :( When i wanted to have kids I was told this as well and that I might not carry full term. Then I met with a midwife and told her I couldn't do natural labor bc of my small narrow hips. She kindly and very humbled informed me that my hip shape doesn't mean I can't have a safe and healthy vaginal delivery. My body is perfectly capable but will know what to when the time came, regardless of my hip size, weight and height. I actually met a 5'0" 95lb woman that had a vaginal birth of a 9lb baby. Oh. My. She was low risk of course but she was able to do it even with her small frame/hips. I do realize that there are other factors of safety that she explained in this video of her delivery that ultimately led to the correct decision for herself and baby (power to her!), as we all should. I was just simply stating that the "small hips" comment Dr's say tends to be misleading and we should always feel and have the right to seek further info and guidance. Had I not done that, I wouldn't have made the correct decision for myself and my baby. All our stories are different and none is "better than the other" so I hope I didn't come off like that! 😬 I'm just passionate about what I've learned throughout my journey from pregnancy and birth bootcamp educators that I want to share it with anyone I can! :) birth, in any shape and form, is a beautifully and empowering thing. 💗 I think she is a very strong mom to have overcome such a hard labor and delivery. Praying her next one is tailored a lot more to how she envisions it to be. :)
