I'm disappointed. I thought this was going to be a biopic on Lady Jane Grey which would've been infinitely better than whatever this Temu Bridgerton rip-off is.
Jane Grey was a really interesting, really intelligent woman who died tragically young. This film/ series seems to have almost no interest in her at all. I love historical fantasy and I love alternative history. This is clearly the former and not the latter no matter how hard it pretends
Wow this has so many "modern audience" cliches all over it that I just got bingo. Seriously wonder how they are going to get around that the other person against her was another woman. Mary I was officially the heir to the throne, Lady Jane was just basically circumventing her because Edward wanted a Protestant. His scheme didn't work as the vast majority of the country supported Mary's claim. And its rather obvious since Lady Jane was Queen for about 9 days. And had a stress skin condition that wasn't pleasant. There is so much they are going to have to rewrite to make her look good. Or probably ignore. This is going to be a trainwreck of horrible writing and modern audience written all over it. And of course its Amazon prime lol.
Sounds like at least 5 shojo anime I've watched already: 1) why raeliana ended up at the dukes mansion 2) 7th time loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy 3)My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! 4)I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss 5) The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior
Why do people have to tarnish heroic historical figures like this? Just write a medieval trash show about your own characters instead of defaming actual historical figures. Disgusting. 😭
Do you know those Haribo adverts with high voice and acting like children, the is the full length feature. What you'd except of children on fizzy pop and pixie sticks.
But how can people still be interested in real history after watching all that terribly written trash? Why not make a sci-fi movie if you want to go overboard with costumes and have a diverse cast? Why mess up our already limited ideas about history?
@@sandywichmann9292 I can truly see your point, and of course we all have different opinions about things. I personally think that this show might get people interested in the real story, which could be a good thing. It's not being advertised as Truth Based, so I don't see the harm. Honestly, I am 56 years old and I didn't know much about the real story myself, but after seeing the trailer, I researched it. I respect your view however. I'm one to talk, "I'm still pissed off that they made the 21 Jumpstreet movies comedies when the TV series was serious "! And that was fiction. Hahahaha. Take care
Looks like an absolute waste of time. Just write your own fictional character in the Renaissance world have them do whatever they want. But to present this as a version of the real Lady Jane Grey is a disgrace that sullies the good name and reputation of the real historical person.
I wish people would stop messing with history, giving modern twists of hyper feminism, modern slang mess. Lady Jane was used as a pawn as most daughters were, especially high born. She was definitely known for being a bit sassy. However, she lost her life so young for being forced into a role she wanted nothing to do with.
I'm mean the rest of the world still existed during medieval times (Africa, Japan), so probably, just not in Europe, but gay...yeah that was diffidently a things back then.
@@starcrossedjedis3677 Sorry, my dude, but "History, except everyone is irresponsible, drunk, and horny" sounds like a BORING theme for a party. Plaskett probably needs more imagination in his life - but possibly so do you.
@@starcrossedjedis3677 LOL, I get out plenty. My social calendar is just a bit more varied than yours, and less dependent on pretend. But good luck to you!
This looks horrible. Lady Jane Grey is not represented in this series. She deserves more respect and honor than this series is presenting her as. I am actually a bit disgusted as a member of er family to see this gross representation of her.
