It is remarkable to see how you keep your calm. I would already long time destroyed my keyboard. Just discovered this channel, nice content and really like your calm & clear voice in that regard, you got a new sub!
let's go! thanks for the content, it's nice to see how you compose yourself during a session like this- no overreaction, no yelling :D trying to work on these things myself right now and I would have busted out my inner Dnegs at some point.
Your only "mistake," in my opinion, was when you called with the JJ's---but for the rest you played it by the book. Thank you for the uploads---I have been really enjoying them. 👋👋👋🃏🃏🃏🙂🙂🙂
Tough day. For the KQ vs K7o hand I do think you can get away on the river vs an overbet. 7 does reduce his value combos a ton, but having the Qc is probably the worst possible card to hold other than than maybe the Jc. We also have plenty of better hands that get to the river, and get to fold over 50% of our range on the river given he overbet.
7 is a good river card as it blocks 77 and other flopped two pairs a bit. Having a queen in our hand isn’t great which I think makes it close. I think AK is a must call KQ is opponent t dependent.
Hey David your energy seemed a bit off even early on in this one before you started losing. If you’re not feeling it don’t be afraid to quit early, no need to force it. Keep up the good work, loving the videos
I remember when I played Z100 and Z200 on Pokerstars - that line where reg had K7o and you had KQo is all too familiar. 99% of the time not a bluff when he shoves that paired board. And our hand is bad to bluff catch. Other than that pretty unlucky.
@DavidKayePoker Yeah James said it right there... The blocking thing never works on online poker due to the amount of hands we play and also our opponents who are selective and tight about the cards they play. I think the blockers theory lost you around 1000$$. Time to fix our leak 😉
I probably over value blockers at times but I do believe they are important to factor in. More so in online than live. IN general online players are more willing to run big bluffs so it becomes important to call down lighter in some spots. Choosing hands that don't block bluffs is a nice way to try and divide your calling/folding range up. With that said, I'm far from perfect at working with these and still a work in progress myself.
Thanks for your reply dude. Big respect than for all what you’ve said and wish you all the best of luck, I’ll keep following you and give you some advises that could help from what I see on your videos ;)
4.2 buy ins isn't insane given it's 6max. Keep grinding you have a very sound mindset for the stakes you'll be playing. Maybe take notes on players. From what I've seen bout2crushu seems to have a very good read on your playing style so would be a player I would want to have thourough notes on.
Tough flips over and over. I didn’t like the all in call with the JJ vs AA hand. And the KQo vs his AJ flush ones. But just a run bad day. Next time you’ll get it.
Hey David. Just from a feel perspective the KQ seems a fold on the river. Villain ain't bluffing profitably ever for that sizing on the river unless he a sicko.
A lot of it has to do with I haven't played much $2/$5 (probably under 15 sessions). I also play a lower number of hands than most which leads to smaller swings in any one session, both good and bad.
@@davidkayepoker could be a good investment to get pio or simple postflop, i think itd be worth every penny, you have good intuition in alot of spots and i think itd be a good way to refine your game.
I’m a member of the Upswing Poker Lab and have GTO+. I’ve done very minimal work with GTO+. To be honest I’ve been having a hard time finding the time I’d like for studying between work, poker, and creating content. Unfortunately kind of stuck of choosing between study time and content at this point and I’ve had a lot of fun doing content.
you lack bluff preflop as well as postflop, all your videos contains mostly Premiums. You are playing 6max there should be a ton of interesting spots w marginal holdings (bvb or bb v late open or even Bt/co v Bb etc) I think you play too high compared to your skills and underestimate the field. If you want to be competitive you will have to pull out some bluffs a bit more often (or maybe you don’t show them on RU-vid?) if you opponents watch your video (which they might) they will just fold to any aggression from your side and be fine w it. As well you call too wild post and can’t fold it seems. I don’t want to lack respect though it’s nice that people share free content here and am about to do it as well but at least be fair to the viewers and play games you are comfortable playing at, loosing 4 buy ins can’t be the biggest loss... orelse you are not ready .. Still keep the good work and hope you will recover this loss ! Cheers and you can thank the video editor, it’s great work ther ;)
Thanks for your feedback Thomas. I’ll do my best to touch on a few of your points. 1) I try to keep the videos under 10 minutes. The sessions are usually 3+ hours so the hands that make it to the videos will generally be the biggest pots. 2) I would estimate I’m a small winner or small loser at 2/5 on this particular site (PokerStars Michigan). 3) I played online 2/5 for the 1st time about 3-4 weeks ago. I also play shorter sessions with less tables which leads to smaller wins/losses. 4) My bankroll has me on the fringe of 2/5 and 1/2. With that said, I have a full time job and play poker for fun and only play with the $ I’ve made from playing poker. I would imagine being a recreational player the $ I make or lose has less of an impact on me than it does someone who relies on the money they make from poker to live. 5) I edit all the videos myself.
