Bayou Classic is here and the girls are gearing up for one of the biggest auditions of the season! Who will make the cut?
This docu series follows young women as they audition every week for a chance to become part of an elite college dance team and to perform on the field with one of the most famous bands in the south.
HBCU majorette dance routines have long been a unique blend pop culture. Flashy moves, glittery costumes and show-stopping performances set these majorette dance teams apart from the best of the colleges with a unique style,
life experiences, and combining teamwork, sportsmanship, drill and dance together with entertainment.

Finally black women are being represented in a positive way!!! I got so tired of seeing us being represented in a negative way because that's not how majority of us are. Some of us do have diplomas, degrees, certifications, and have ambition etc! I know I do. We aren't all mad, angry, bitter, babymamas, etc etc This is what we need to show our young black girls instead of the foolishness on TV today. I stopped watching TV in 2016 and I don't regret that decision at all!

I love how respectful Charity is of the girls above her.It seems like she really looks up to them and wants to learn as much as she can from the older girls. For her to only be a freshman is amazing. Being your first year in college and balancing all the work they put into being a part of the dance company seriously blows my mind. All these women deserve respect.

I think these girls who make the team, should be the Orchesis Dance Team and not keep audition every time. Practice makes perfect. The girls are good dancers.

I love how Charity comes to tryouts fully prepared. Her hair is together.. makeup is beautiful... her overall look and performance is great! I love it.

She does an excellent job shes work with the likes of Alvin Ailey School Of Dance. NY,Harlem School of Dance, Chicago School of Dance just to name a few and that's not all of her accomplishments. Her resume speaks for itself shes been a judge for DD4L .

She (charity), has made it plain, and clear. She is still learning, gaining the experience, and thinking about making the cut each week. She's letting you know that the Captain's responsibility is not quite a comfortable situation I'm ready to take on. Perhaps; after basketball season, and spring tryouts, she might be more confident in her abilities to take the helm as captain! Let her grow at her own pace! Let that lol fox 🦊 continue to grow. Her and Ziyan, my fave right now.

I'm so ready for the next episodes lol. I love watching my Queens including myself doing good things in life. Whether it's running businesses, doing classes,graduating, getting certifications, if not interested in school doing something amazing with their lives. We are ROYALTY. I always wanted to dance but unfortunately my college doesn't have majorettes, dance teams or anything in that sorts so I would HAVE TO MAKE ONE 🤷🏾‍♀️😌 and I am all for it.

These episodes are getting shorter and shorter omg. But I am so happy that there is a series that show case talented, educated, brown women. It really made my heart happy when one of the dancers were injured and they came together to make sure she was ok. That's what I call a team. Keep it up ladies

Charity goes hard! She's dope. She definitely should be captain next year. She already has experience as a captain which is a plus since a captain needs more than dance skills. And I think having a three year captain is what the Orchesis needs to continue to evolve. I just hope they have some really good crabs next year cause they look alright on the field but they have room for improvement in the stands. Just my opinion.

I feel they could b better if they change they audition process. They need to pick a set them then let them work to become strong. It's no growth when some only making the team twice a year there is no growth. And when did they start bucking lol stick to your own style. But love the show they just will never grow using this type of audition strategy. Hold cuts but pick a permanent team

The ENTIRE company practices TOGETHER from SUNDAY to SUNDAY when it comes to field n show performances. ALL practice the routine if the are wishing to audition for the field show during the Fall football season.

I just knew Kayla from the dolls would be on here, trying out, succeeding, going hard, mannnn she been on like 2 episodes 🙄😩😂 I mean I’m rooting for all the young black queens but ofc most of us know the dd4l girls or were hip to this show from that show🤷🏽‍♀️ some of us may not have went to hbicu’s or knew about this black girl magic, out here killing it and not ghettofied for TV. Love this lil serious during quarantine and ofc I got my 6 yr old daughter stuck on and we’re making up routines and dancing😂😂😂🤪

I think they should have tryouts if people who are getting too COMFY being on the field or too LAZY are slacking off so that they can step it up, but otherwise they should be one team

Envy T to be captain you have to have more than just the moves. Not saying that these ladies don’t have it because I personally believe they do. Both Essence and ET know that. However we all know that Mama Lump has the only day so in who’s gonna be captain. There’s a reason Lyric became captain after her freshman year. I wouldn’t be surprised if charity and a vet because captain together. That’s what happened with Lyric and Jalin. Charity is literally a baby Lyric. From attitude to personality to dance! She’s just it.

Cedricious Wright lol I’m not new to dance teams ... I know this. This one episode is not gone change my mind. They looked at essence the same way they look at charity this year, last year they have the same kind of background and everything. Also, etasia always been looked at she just never stepped up fully. But then again as you said you never know.

@@VeryCeddy Trying to explain the process to outsiders is proving futal. You can tell because the keep referencing the ODC as "squad" or "dance team," instead of "field show dancers." Remember, we're on the inside; they're on the outside. They simply wouldn't know and are very willing to hang-on to their opinion even after knowledge has been imparted.

Envy T the media looked at them. We don’t know who the odc staff is looking at. All I can say is the media’s favorites aren’t always the choice. Just Don’t be disappointed IF none of ya favs become captain including charity. Just because the aired this doesn’t mean anything.
