I started with watching Gypsi In Sneakers Nepal vlogs, could not stop and have now watched all of your videos. I love the way you greet “Namaste” to the people and the way you communicate with the people, despite the language barrier. So sweet and warm. Thank you for visiting sweet little country of mine with so much diversity and hope to see many more videos in coming days.
Ryleigh I will let you know about the spicy and sour thing that you have it from sweet lady who sells you at Nepali 100 rupees is actually making from Dried Fruit Leather - Maadaa - (फलफूल को माड़ा) Maadaa is a chewy fruit leather or fruit rolls-ups made out of fresh fruits. The traditional way of making fruit leather is by first boiling the fruits, then mix with sweetener or seasonings, mashing until very smooth. It is then poured into flat tray and set out in the direct sun for drying for several days. Maadaa is ready when the fruit is fully dried and all the moisture have evaporated. It will have a leather-like appearance and chewy texture. They are removed from the tray, cut into bite-size pieces or simply rolled up into strips and stored in an air-tight container or in a plastic bags. It is eaten any time of the day as a snack.
Those temples on the way to pagoda are called "kul temple." Each caste in Nepal have such kul temples where we specifically worship our ancestors and its done once a year.
I highly recommend considering a visit to Lumbini, Nepal. This UNESCO World Heritage site holds immense historical and spiritual significance as the birthplace of Buddha. The serene atmosphere, ancient monuments, and the Maya Devi Temple offer a unique and enlightening experience. It's a pilgrimage site that not only provides a glimpse into Buddhist history but also offers tranquility and reflection. A visit to Lumbini promises cultural richness and a profound connection to one of the world's most influential spiritual figures.🥀❤️
I have seen all your videos in Nepal, ma'am. I enjoyed watching all of your videos. Thank you for visiting Nepal. Thank you for all your positive responses about the culture and places of Nepal. 5:45 it is actually a secred temple of a specific cast. people usally worship in such place in between 2 to 5 years so thats why it is not maintained properly.
Those are made with Nepali Hog Plums. In Nepali it's called Lapsi. The snack you are trying made from hog plum is called Titaura. It is one of the most popular snacks here in Nepal. There are various kinds of Lapsi candy you can get in Nepal. Enjoy your journey in Nepal, glad you are trying new things.
Wrong INFO. Original name is PAU in Newar Nepali language but Titraula in Khas Parbate Nepali language. IT IS ORIGINALLY ORIGINATED IN Nepal Valley/Kathmandu Valley.
Ryleigh, good to see you vlogs as a global audience. I am watching from Turkey. If you have time you supposed to go Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara. The best adventurous and short trekking rout to see Annapurna and other mountain ranges from very close. Further, to go to Jomsong, lower and upper Mustang.
Thank you for your dedicated efforts in exploring and showcasing Nepal to a global audience. Nepal stands as a testament to the warmth, generosity, and industrious spirit of its people who coexist harmoniously. With its rich cultural tapestry, delectable cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes, Nepal has a wealth of offerings. A visit to this remarkable destination is truly an experience that is worth cherishing in a lifetime.

At 6:45, he mentioned it is their Kul Deuta, Kul means lineage, deuta (similar to deus in latin) means god or, in this case, more appropriately a deity. So Kul deuta is a family deity that is personal to a group of families who are derived from a common ancestor. Almost every Nepali family has a Kul deuta. Once every year, every family gather and worship their Kul deuta. Fun fact : most of the hindu temples have priests who come from a specific community, mostly brahmins. However, the priest of the Kul deuta temple comes from one of the families that worship that specific deity. I find this very similar to the tradition of Patron saint among catholics in Italy and Spain, which they say has pagan origin.
Good to see u in pokhara & thanks a lot for exploring pokhara city to world through your channel hope u will visit next time in pokhara with more explore than now bon voyage for next destination
Watching you from Bharat, India. I just love your vlog. I couldn't visit all the places but you are exploring and showing us the beautiful places of the world. Keep it up.
Hey Ryleigh just started to watch your vlogs. It's fun to explore with you in your videos because i noticed you show in details to your viewers whatever you explore. Anyways the spicy fruit you tried i guess is tamarind processed and made with different flavours and spices which is one of the famous edibles made in Nepal. Hope to see you more exploring different places. Your new subscriber from India. Peace.
The small temples that you saw on your way up, when you took that small detour and saw two temples, those are Kul Devta or family gods. They are determined based on your ansestary. Once a year the family will carry out a grand pooja with various festivities. The gentleman you asked to mentioned "blessing god" ... what hwe meant is that the family will carry out pooja once a year and take blessings from their ansestary gods. I am certainly enjoying your vlog. Wish you the best and very successful journeys .
You definitely look gorgeous in Pokhara hat! Sad to hear that it is your last day in Pokhara. I hope you have had a great 👍 time while in Pokhara and the rest of Nepal 🇳🇵 ! Thank you! This is not my last Nepal vlog 😊 I will continue my vlogs in Kathmandu as I didn’t get to explore too much when I was there initially due to being sick 🙏
6:00 the mandir you asked, is Kul mandir, as he said village temple meaning:- it is his lineage's temple. every caste has different kul mandir with different gods in various places. relatives who are scattered around come together to worship together 1 day in a year.
No flies on ryleigh when taxi bargaining power and yet so generous to stall holders 🙏. Interesting informative tour ryleigh, aways great filming and interaction with locals. Nepal beautiful peaceful country 🙏. The god shiva was associated with smoking hashish and accepted in napali culture in the old days, now illegal under American influence. The American influence is very noticeable as thier is coca cola signs everywhere. Anyways ryleigh, luv your vlogs, take care luv from Australia 👌💕🦘🙏

Since then you have gained more than 25k subscribers and more than 1 million views. Keep Growing. Good luck. If you are still in Nepal, you should go to Eastern nepal or South Nepal too. The thing you just ate is called pauw or titaura which is usually made from different spices and mainly from a fruit called Lapsi which is only found in Nepal and nowhere else.
I'm a Nepalese boy watching from Adelaide. People of Australia are too friendly and cool, so are you. Hope you had great days in Nepal. Next time you go back in Nepal, you should do Annapurna Base Camp trekking where you can see the Annapurna ranges (as you saw from Pokhara) just in front of you so so close , it will be a life time best experience and you'll thank me later. Wishing to meet you someday.
14:30 The first one you tried was made from Lemon..and others were made from the fruit name ' Lapsi ( Hog plum ) ' ... These pickle looking things are called ' Paau/ Maada/ Titaura ' 😅...All those are varieties of Paau that can be made from that plum. ( Some are spicy, some are sweet and spicy, some are only sour, etc 😅 ) This fruit itself has a very very sour taste....
Hi Ryligh, awesome awesome videos you make. I started watching from 9 PM and its currently 3 AM. You've really hooked me. Its like watching series where you can't stop once you started. Also I suggest you a movie called "Kantara" it's a south indian movie. Maybe you can find a english dubbed version. I am sure you will be mindblown. There you will get to know what kul devta is and what that temple is related to.
