Sad ending Alex, but have always enjoyed your level of skill no matter what you fly. Thank you for sharing even though it hurts. Cheers for sharing. Karl 👍

Awww man! Sorry to hear your loss! Literally! I heard you say you were going high rates w the rough air, was that a contributing factor? Truly incredible the energy there, you can hear the power even in the video! Best of luck getting out there again!
@AJHewson1
@AJHewson1 Год назад
Yes, I think it was. A more forward CG to my last one and hence flicking to high rates influenced the high speed stall

Oh man Alex, I'm so sorry to see this. I feel physically sick! This video brought back memories for me. Super amazing and fun hobby but it can be so brutal with the larger ships. I so hoped you would get another Transonic and take the World record. Great effort getting another one built and in the air! I hope you have plans to do more and chase that WR.

Still just amazing engineering on that plane. How you got it that strong is mystifying. The loading on those gorgeous wings must be massive.

Hi Alex, Huu soory to you for this happens! I feel with you! I fly since 2,5 years, and fly from Gliders to Motormashines some planes, but more glieders:) And i have also two crashes... one in the first half year of my flights with a cheep elapor glieder, and havy csrash also with an elapor Piper, but this fave more than 1 dessions to get a crash. Pilot have some failes and fly after long flight brake, and some safty standard programmings of the flapps for normal flying and light Aerobatics. But resepekt to you to fly so high speed. Which speed do you have with this plain? 400 mph? 500? With my easy Glieder from MPX the Antartis Carbotec i get 200 to 300 kmh but that is for me enough:) Greetings and best wishes from Germany:)

Why not make composite moulds? Aluminium is definitely superior but the cost!! It’s only going to take some extra physical effort and prep work but for the cost difference I just don’t see the value in machine cut moulds unless going into profitable production

@Ozzy3333333
@Ozzy3333333 Год назад
Dam! How do you tip stall at them speeds?
@AJHewson1
@AJHewson1 Год назад
It’s all about the load factor. As the wing loads more (more Gs) stall speed increases
@Ozzy3333333
@Ozzy3333333 Год назад
@@AJHewson1 Thx, but isn't that plane good for ~550? Have you guys used a accelerometer to measure G's, if yes, what peak G's?
@AJHewson1
@AJHewson1 Год назад
@@Ozzy3333333 yes it is, but if you pull too hard, and CG is incorrect, the load factor skyrockets. Add to that a gust loading as happened here and one wings airflow can suddenly let go.

@w8stral 7 месяцев назад
LOL, RC aircraft, crash is ALWAYS expected. My first flight was less than 5s and pieces everywhere. You quickly learn to use VERY cheap materials(cardboard/foam/duct tape) until you learn to fly and even then, as soon as the speed increases, loads increase... well the $$$ goes WAAAAY up as line of sight is the main problem.
