Great haul.....Descender and Ascender are great reads...some of Jeff Lemire's best work. Good luck with the move....i remember the "pain" of moving all my collected editions....the movers were complaining about how heavy the boxes were! Lol...this hobby doesn't exactly lend itself to easy moves!

Good luck with your move man. I’ve recently moved myself to another apartment with my huge collection. It was a pain in the ass to package all the books and move them nice and smoothly, but I made it, so I believe you could do it too 😅 Awesome haul btw, so many amazing books! Congrats!

I moved across country about 4 years ago (only one dog but add in a daughter) and it's not the most fun thing. Thankfully I was mostly reading all digitally them so I didn't need to worry about moving my comic collection, that gives me chills just thinking about it. But you'll get through the initial unfuness and have a brand new life set up with you, the Mrs., and the pups!

I’ll have to let you know my thoughts once I finish it. AND I’ve been enjoying ice cream man vol 2 a lot. Only 2 issues so far (about 3/4 done) have made kinda lost but the rest has been pretty good.

I liked Lailla Star. It plays in territory that’s at least adjacent to Daytripper, but puts its own spin on things. One of my favourite reads of 2023. As for the others, where did you find Descender? I thought those HCs were long OOP!
Now that's a haul.. I hope for the move to go as smoothly as it can. Trying to figure out if I'm gonna have to pick up super sons, bought Tomasi Batman and Robin as well his Superman.

Nice haul for yourself and good luck with your upcoming move. Interesting when you showed V for Vendetta ( I have the absolute version. Incredible book ) I thought to myself...why has this guy who's obviously a serious collector, not upgraded to the absolute version? Only for you to say shortly afterwards that you don't collect them. My question is why? Personally, I told myself a few years ago I'd go no further than omni's but once I bought Watchmen, V for Vendetta and the Preacher series absolutes ( Them being so good I felt like I had to have the best, final versions ) the floodgates opened! Batman year one, Moore's Swamp thing and Transmetropolitan absolutes plus a few more are now in my collection. I bought loads in 2023 ( Easily spent £10 grand ) but it's slowed down dramatically now. I've sold allot too these past 6 months. Books I tried but didn't work for me. You know my bleak style..lol...
Great story and I do know your style haha My main reason I don’t collect absolutes is the price. I love the format and design of all the absolutes completely BUT I can’t justify spending $100-$150 on 6-12 issues (depending on the absolute) when I can buy a Omni for the same price and get 25-50 issues. That’s my main reason, Just money honestly.
@@Illuminerdy_ I'm with ya mate. All the absolutes I have were very cheap ( well below asking price ) and were the very best comics I've ever read. For sure though some are a complete rip off.
