I love tret 0,05%, im 30 year old male, been using vitamin A for 8 years. Started using it this year and tret is so so so much better than retinol and retinal. The difference is so much noticeable. I will use it till i die for anti aging purpose and control acne 😂

Your tips are so amazing I always binge watch your videos!! You inspired me to take a step into Tretinoin and so far follow your tips I have no to barley irritation. I make sure to cover those burn prone areas such as my nose corner and lips and under eyes. I use my Tretinoin every other day as my dermatologist recommended and also I'm 0.025 . Baby steps I should say,, so far I'm so shocked with how fast my skin is looking much different and my tolerance.

Tretinoin is game changer I've been using 0.05% daily for over a year and I recently switched to a 0.1% tretinoin + niacinamide. Even tho I never had acne I have loved it for premature anti-aging and in the past I had some hyperpigmentation and texture. And I have that same essence/toner.

Yes. I started at .25% for a yr then my dermatologist put me on .05%. In one yr i will then go up 1%.

Aw thank you! I’m microneedling now! I have a few shorts on it. I wasn’t when I filmed this, but now I’m trying to do it every other month at least. I will be trying moxi laser once I’m done with a few more trips, just to target any mild sun damage from my summer vacations, so I’ll make a short on that too. 🤍

Hi.i just wanna ask that I have been using tretinion for a month but one mistake I've done is I started directly 0.5% tretinion Which is happened because I don't have much info about it and now I don't know if I should switch to 0.025 or just keep using 0.5 tretinion?? please reply it's so important

It just depends on how your skin is doing with the .05. if you feel like .05 is too strong for you then switching may benefit you in experiencing less irritation. I will say .025 to .05 was a big jump for me in terms of strength

Hi! The drmtlgy peptide moisturizer is awesome, so is the skinfix barrier cream. My favorite when I was experiencing what you are is the Paula’s choice hydrating treatment mask. I used it similar to a sleeping mask where I would layer it over my moisturizer (or as your moisturizer).. Many tret users use it as well. This question reminded me of it and I’m gonna go buy it again now 😂😂❤️

Hi! Thank you ❤️❤️ no actually. Sometimes I get some flaking in the winter but that’s it. However when I first started I did experience flaking. The photo I show in the beginning with the flaking skin is a picture of what my skin looked like.

Goodness gracious, I just made the switch from Beauty of Joseon essence and glow/ revive serum to the Pyunkang Yul essence/Drmtlgy needle-less serum combo. The absorptive quality of these two products compared to BoJ is *insane.* Not dissing on BoJ in the slightest, I've thoroughly enjoyed their products. But these two products absorb into the skin without leaving a sticky/heavy residue *so nicely.* I'm eager to see the more long-term results I might have with them. Hi! Moving up to .05 can be a big jump, but if you feel like your results could be better you can definitely talk to your provider about moving up and what that may look like for your routine going forward. I experience minimal dryness with the .025 but a lot with the .05 so I’d still take it super slow if you move up to stay on the safe side. Good luck ❤️😍

I’ve seen people use the Estée Lauder with their retinoid without issues. However usually I’d advise using a product with caffeine in it like that serum, as it can I aggravate the inflammatory components of retinol.. but this can also depend on your personal skin. Although the caffeine is lower on the ingredient list I’d still use some caution with it. But typically it’s fine to use hydrating Skin soothing ingredients before tret if you’ve already adjusted to your tret. Just wait for them to dry down first.

Hi! Yes acne can increase in the winter Becuase when the skin becomes dry the skin may start creating more sebum.. doing things like incorporating an essence like I did here, or using a hydrating serum can be a good way to hydrate the skin without using a heavier moisturizer. I would choose either tretinoin or adapalene. When starting tretinoin niacinamide should be fine especially if you’ve been using it for a while now. You may need to scale back on the salicylic acid, use it a bit less or take a little break from it, and switch to using it only in the mornings while using tret. I have multiple videos on starting tretinoin as a beginner, and dealing with tretinoin side effects that may be helpful if you’re considering tret. It’s scorolash. I’ve tried some simular ones that all work but that’s the one I’ve been using for a while now. I don’t think you’ll have reverse results. It shouldn’t do the opposite to your lashes. however you just want to be very careful with lash serums since you use them so close to your eyes. I like to apply a tiny amount and tap it in to the lash line.

I’ve been on tret .025 for the past two months, every single night with very minimal irritation. In your opinion do you in I’d be okay to move up to .05? Thank you for your time

Hi! Completely up to you if you feel you can handle it honestly. I will say for me the .05 jump was a big one so I did have to scale use back to 2-3x a week once I moved up. It can take months to get the full effects and start seeing the full benefits of tret, but if you already get the sense that your results could be better and you think you can handle it, you can always try it. If it ends up being too strong you could come back to the .025 for a little longer.

Dear i have a cream which is a concoction of niacinamide+alpha arbutin+Tranexamic acid+licorice +kojic acid...i have pigmentation around mouth.. So can i apply this concoction around mouth and tret inoin on my cheeks at same time during night? Do reply love

I would apply a thin layer all over the face. Ad also definitely occlude the lips like I did here. The mouth area can be a hot spot for irritation for many so I’d take it very slow if you’re not used to the tretinoin there. You can also apply your moisturizer first and then use the tretinoin on top to minimize irritation a little more.

So I use a hyaluronic acid a night time serum a moisturizer and of course tretinion. What order should I put all these on? I've been using tretinion first than hyaluronic acid than my nighttime serum than I will finish with a moisturizer. Am I doing it wrong?

Hyaluronic acid should be applied while the skin is damp or it won't work. Apply it on damp skin, then moisturizer. Once your skin is dry apply your tretinoin last

Hi Chantel! Currently 17 may be a bit young to start such a strong topical unless your dr has specifically advised it for your skin. In the meanwhile an over the counter retinoid may help with the acne. But If that’s not the case, it’s typically advised to use Retinoids in your 20s.

I’ve had body laser hair removal, hydrafacial, light peels and facials but nothing that requires any downtime.. I am starting micro needling this month though! I was always one of the only estheticians where I worked so I never got any treatments just preformed them 😂.. I’m about to start though! After my microneedling sessions maybe I’ll do the prp next. I’ll post about whatever I do 🫶🏼

Hi! No not daily! I usually just bring my hydrating serums and moisturizer under my eyes.. but if I do use one it’s the Naturium multi peptide or the medicube peptide eye cream. For spf I use the pipette mineral for day to day mineral spf. If I’m wearing makeup I love the beauty of joseon spf, and the Paula’s choice youth extending spf ❤️❤️

I use the same essence, cleanser, and moisturizer on many mornings, but I change the serums and some extra things in the morning to address any puffiness, or exfoliating that needs to be done. My routine will be up in a few days. ❤️ I’m just a bit under the weather so I’ll film it when I’m recovered

Hi, you said that needless serum has niacinamide which is an active ingredient. Usually dermatologists suggest that it's not okay to use niacinamide or any active ingredient with your tretinoin at night. The simpler the routine the better it is. What would your thoughts be on that?

It’s completely fine! Plenty of derms will say that as well when it specifically comes to niacinamide. So I guess it depends on the derm. I’ve used tretinoin in the past that was already combined with niacinamide. Niacinamide is probably one of the the best serums to use with tretinoin as it helps to reduce redness and irritation associated with tretinoin and retinol use. Personally I like a low concentration of niacinamide. Also if you look at the ingredients in many moisturizers, hydrating serums, they may already have niacinamide in them, like cere ve moisturizing lotion PM for example. It’s a skin replenishing ingredient especially in low concentrations, which is a quality that can compliment tret. When you’re first starting out with tret it’s best to keep things super simple, however I consider myself an advanced tret user, and i have no issues layering tret with the ingredients I used here. Hope that helps ❤️

I’ve never heard any derm say those actives can’t be combined/ layered🤔 I’m using a Dermatica prescription atm with 0.025% tret, 4% azelaic and 4% niacinamide- and that’s all in the same formulation. My next prescription ups to 0.05% tret and the whole formula is approved by derms🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s the avene retrinAl ! And I really liked it! I had no irritation but my neck looked smooth… I was basically using it as a stepping stone to start using tret on my neck, which I now do ❤️

Hello! I’m new to tretinoin and I made the mistake of applying it on my neck. I woke up with extreme irritation and now I have a large patch of hyperpigmentation there. I bought a bunch of moisturizing products to hopefully help with it and hoping it will heal eventually. Do you think the nail mucin, and squalane oil along with moisturizer will help??

Yess! Those are perfect products to help decrease the inflammation completely. If after weeks/months the pigment doesn’t improve you can always use non exfoliating gentle pigment inhibitors like alpha arbutin and tranexamic acid.

I always apply my skin carefrom lightest to thickest. But you can apply your tret to dry skin wait for that to absorb and dry, and then apply the rest or your hydrating skincare and moisturizer if you prefer to do it that way.

Sometimes I use the multi bright tranexamic acid treatment in the mornings which has alpha arbutin, or I use the Naturium tranexamic acid serum as an extra brightening serum in the morning instead. But I changed my routine and ran out of my alpha arbutin serums a while ago and never felt the need to repurchase it.. but I still think it’s a good gentle dark spot treatment.
