Ik just watched an old video of his and the care of his geckos was absolutely horrible so I was looking to see if his care had finally improve but clearly not very much
True and they don't care about going on high spots. They aren't bearded dragons. My gecko is 15 years old and has lived on repticaret forever. You can see a clip on my page.
Please please do more research on these guys!! They shouldn’t be in high humidity, they shouldn’t be misted either. They shouldn’t be on loose substrate, and since there are two of them (which isn’t great either) there should be plenty more hiding and climbing space + foliage), your heat mat should cover 1/3 of the tank. Your ambient temps need to be around 75-85 degrees and your warm hide needs to be 90! I am not trying to be mean but I care about the wellbeing of your animals!
i love the tank! btw you don’t need to spray the tank down if the substrates still moist because you don’t want the tank to get too humid the moist hide will be enough for them. love your vids❤️
Too much wetness .. Once it dried up a bit it will be a lovely gecko home 👍🏻 Another tip if changing to a new home don't wash all their decorations at first. Geckos go by smell not sight so not stress them and possibly lose a tail 😳 keep there old items in the new tank and switch out slowly. My Leo is almost 20 🤗
@@floatzy1959 first off "two" is a number. What you're looking for is "too", which means "also". Secondly, not sharing every little thing with the world isn't lying. Third of all, you've got no idea what happened to the fish at all. They might have died, they might not have. People lose fish all the time. It happens to the best of us. One tiny mistake can kill your whole tank. Get over it. If you're so much better, make your own videos. Then maybe you'll understand what it's like to have people, whom you do not know, share their unwanted opinions as if they're facts.
@Akina Studios "alot" isn't a word. It's "a lot". I don't agree with how he's setting this up, but you'll be hard pressed to find only one right way to keep reptiles healthy. That's why there's so many different videos and care guides for them. Yes, there's also a lot of misinformation, but that falls on the owner to do proper research and not go by one video, article, website, you name it. This kid actually listens to his followers, so tell him what you think is wrong and why, without being a dick, and maybe, just maybe, you'll help make proper changes.
no no no they don't like moist all they need for moisture is hide with like moss, paper towels, or eco earth in that hide for shed. they like it to be arid and hot but they DO NOT live in the desert. and SEPERATE THEM NOOOOOW.
Why do so many people know nothing about their pets almost everyone in his videos say good shot about his habitats when he’s just an impulsive buyer, he try’s but it’s too much.
My leopard geckos are 15 years old. By the way make sure they have a dry side lepoerd geckos don't like a lot of humidity. They can get respiratory infections and or mouth rot
4:41 ... they dOnt like it moist, there arid desert dwelling creatures & should only have a moist hide, eco earth be used but u need to keep an eye on the humidity in the overall cage bc respiratory problems are common when too much moisture
Exactly. They have to be both female and a 40-60 gallon enclosure at least, they'd fight over a Hotspot if there's one. I still don't recommend this unless you're an expert and always watch them. They also don't "cuddle", they compete for heat
They DO NOT need a moist environment. That’s why you ONLY have a humid hide, it’s for when they shed, that ONE part is humid, the rest is dry. They live in dry rocky areas..NOT HUMID!
Respect for actually looking at the comments and doing the research and proving people wrong some youtubers dont look at the comments and ignore people trying to help
Fishy’srule 101 it’s not completely wrong to have two leopard geckos in a cage. In his case with a female and male it definitely is not a good idea but when you have two females it’s acceptable. Rebecca doesn’t completely go against having two geckos in one cage she just probably wouldn’t recommend it.
AVFighter Dill yea but still, in the perspective of the person they were talking about, Leopard Gecko (Rebecca), two females can be accepted under certain terms. They said that she says to not ‘cohab reptiles’ but i’m pretty sure her opinion on that is that it can be accepted.
Nick talk about me in any video am from India that to from tamilnadu am ur bigger fan bro .....I like to have aquarium like urs but in Tamilnadu no facility r here 😭😭😭😭😭 I miss those fishes
I can’t be the only one you picked up on the fact he said he’s going to get an incubator and breed them. DO NOT BREED THEM. You don’t know enough, clearly 🤦♀️
@@LifeAsBobby the reason I’m watching this is because it came up in my recommended. I know how to look after leopard geckos and reptiles in general CORRECTLY, and I definitely know more than this guy. What exactly do you know anyway? 🤦♀️
OMG that’s not at all how you care for leopard geckos, that tank should only have one adult not two especially a male and female, btw one has a regrowing tail wow guess how that happened...geckos are solitary animal’s in the wild they only come together to breed. The male was probably trying to get her out of his turf and there’s nowhere else for the female to go so they will fight. And yeah you need way more warm spots in each hide because the one that gets the warm spot will not share and the other one will be freezing because they are from Pakistan,Oh and the humidity should not be that high! You don’t spray leopard geckos there not a tropical gecko, you spray day geckos not leopard geckos. To breed them they each have there own tank at least 20 gallons each and you move the female to the male only for breeding otherwise they will constantly try to breed during breeding season and stress the female out. That’s surprising that they had survived 8 years, poor geckos
Repent now and trust Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior please🥰 John 3:13 for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life!😇❤❗
Dear god, cringing at the “research” this guy did. -you are not supposed to put two Leo’s in the same tank, they are HIGHLY territorial. Even if they don’t kill eachother, (which is very possible), they will be incredibly stressed out and be very dull in color because of it. ESPECIALLY a male and female pair. The female will bully the male for resources and the male won’t get the nutrients it needs. Along with shitty mating and bad genetics, and eggs that will just die and wither if you don’t know how to breed and incubate the eggs properly. -THEY DO NOT LIKE IT MOIST IN THE ENTIRE ENCLOSURE. The coconut fiber holds moisture incredibly well. TOO well for Leo’s. They need it very dry or else they will contract mouth rot and respiratory issues from high humidity. You should Only have a moist hide and a water dish for humidity, that’s all they need and want. -not only Does the coconut fiber hold moisture too well for Leo’s, it’s very loose and fine, and the Leo’s will ingest it and get compacted. Leo’s lick EVERYTHING, and if they get compacted, they will die before you can do anything about it or catch it. -even if two geckos could go together (which they can’t), but if they could, you would have to double all the resources and space for each leo. The BASIC minimum for one leo is three hides, one on the hot side, one on the cold side, and one in the middle for humidity. That doubles to six hides minimum if you ever decide to press fate and put two Leo’s in there. -you’ve said you have both for 8 years, but the female gecko still doesn’t trust ya, and looks like her tail was popped and had to regrow. Leo’s only pop their tails in GREAT distress. I would make sure you are holding them gently and correctly, cause I was cringing while the male was being shook around as you picked him up out of the bin. -other than that, the bowl was fine I guess.
some VERY recommended tips! Do not use eco earth for your geckos, it can impact them if digested, also it is too humid and if it is dried out it can still hurt your geckos, also cohabitating has no benefits other than for your entertainment. and lastly, you need to put a calcium dish, get more hides because 2 is not enough (plus your humid hide is on the warm side and not in the middle which it should be) at least 3 for the humid, cool, and warm and then you also need a basking spot (yes i understand this was 3 years ago but still)
The care for this video makes me cringe. I researched about leopard geckos for over 6 months, and I'm still learning new things. The amount of research you did doesn't mean anything, especially when so much information on leos is outdate and or misinformation from the beginning.
TheWanderingPlayer gloves don’t work and he can do whatever he wants. They advise you to stay at home not don’t go out. Quit being a snowflake and live a little
the 1st Gecko you put in is deformed I can see it in his back And the other gecko has clearly dropped it's tail before and you should not what ever you do put to leopard geckos in the same tank!!!
I’m not trying to be rude or anything but I don’t think he even did an hour of research maybe 5 minutes like don’t get an animal if your to lazy to do enough research on your pet🙄
*Hey man I hope u see this, I know you get a lot of people saying, “do your research” and hating on you. But I think your a good guy just enjoying the hobby, keep up the good work Nick*
@@flopeos He has said hes doing his research in Paul's Video when Nick was helping him clean his salt water tank in the beginning he said he saw the comments and purchased the chain and a larger tank for the sea horses also in this video he said he watched care Videos for leopard geckos and doing research listening to the criticism. Also what I see in the comments is not Criticism I see tons of hate comments calling him harsh words and such
man you get so much hate and all but please don't hide your sadness if you have . you do not abuse them but just do not research enough and the pets dies by accident . you're just a pet keeper that just wants more and more but needs to know more when you do this or that too. keep up with videos like this 👌
This... this was not much better. Yeah, nice hides, but that very moist and humid substrate... they're going to get mouth rot and respiratory infections. That female is skiddish because she's being bullied by the male. Separate them and I promise you'll notice a difference. This is still really bad husbandry. Poor things... costs around $150+ (craigslist constantly has 20+ gallon tanks for sale for like 40 bucks.) for a second and PROPER set up. That female shouldn't be constantly in a tank with a male. If you're going to breed them DO YOUR RESEARCH. If you cant afford to take care of them properly you shouldn't have them. If you're not willing to put in more than 1 HOUR of just watching a tank build as "research" then you shouldn't have them. It sounds harsh and I am in no way a vet but as a reptile owner for over 13 years and an owner of 2 wonderful Leos I know that this is NOT I T.
Yes, I am 17 and been doing research for months right now about leopard geckos for what I thought when I move out of the house I already know a bit how to take care of them and I can get one because my mom is like scared of almost all reptiles😅, but Yesterday I found on a site that is like craglist for you guys and I am allowed to buy him🥰. So I am doing more video research so I know more cause like I forget things really easy and I came a cross this and I was like uhm.. so I watched the comments so yeah😅 ( Sorry if I miss spelled something but I am from Belgium)💙
They are desert animals they have a moist hide thats it and a water dish and leopard geckos aren't supposed be together unless your mating them and even separate them after that
Me watching this video after he said he’s had these geckos for 7 years and did ~1 hour of research: 😶😯😮😧😲😵🤭🤭🤔 they don’t need humidity!!! Only a moist hide!!😬
I just watched your older update for you leopard geckos tank and I'm so glad I found this video this is a huge improv, net but they don't like high humidity levels they might get respatory infections from that I suggest keeping one hide misted down they should have three hides one cold one hot and one humid keep the humid hide sprayed down but not the entire cage
All loose substrates can cause impaction. Though you can use it in the lay box. I recommend excavator clay if you like the more “natural” look, it’s much safer. If you’re going to use eco earth I recommend going full bio active with live plants and clean up crew but of course your husbandry HAS to be on point for any loose substrates. You’re on the right track though lol
eco earth actually has low a low impaction risk, if any at all. And this is coming from someone who has 8 geckos on it and they are all healthy and strong.
From one gecko owner to another: that tank is wayyyy too large and way too bare. The water dish is also way too big. The humidity is going to be through the roof. You need to let the eco earth dry out first!! Also, where’s the calcium dish?? I don’t think your “hour of research” was enough my guy.
Something like Eco Earth Arid or coconut fibre(dry) with play sand, vinyl it has to be non- adhesive or for a more sterile substrate you can use paper towel. Do not use Calci sand or pure sand etc. It is a myth however that all loose substrate will cause impaction. Big food or pore husbandry will cause impaction Hope this helped:) The channel Leopard Gecko did a great video on this subject
you should really leave the eco-earth out to dry or alternatively heat it in the oven to dry it out as leos don't like too high humidity, this will also kill any bacteria in it to make it safer. Just leaving this here at the glass tank that is being used has a lot less ventilation than a vivarium and therefore will build up humidity quite fast.
You are supposed to put the eco earth in the oven before putting it in because they live in dry climates in the wild. Also avoid spraying down the tank as it can cause respiratory problems and they get the humidity they need from the moist hose and the water dish
''they like moisture'' im dead haha but no they should not be housed on eco earth that helps keep humidity up these are a desert animal not tropical animals.
I use eco Earth and if you have a good balance humidity shouldn't be a problem. If it has a little bit of moisture in it then it will stay around 30% and it won't be too dusty.
Nice video!! Btw you should put a dry spot because thy don't really like humidity they can also get mouth rot n a respiratory infection.I really like the reptile content💚
The tank is fine, I would have gotten a front opening one since geckos have predators that come from above so to avoid stress. You should connect the heating pad to a thermostat. Leos come from an arid environment, you do not need to spray them down, humid hide is enough.
He don’t need positive energy it’s abuse at this point you should never Cohab Leo’s and yes atleast he cares enough to change from having them on sand and with a TORTOISE which is just WHY would he think that’s okay to do but he’s had them for 7yrs he should know hella better be now
i don't think the substrate will need to be super damp, it can cause some issues. and i also highly recommend a thermometer with a probe, which actually measures the temperature of the ground instead of the surrounding area! i'm also sorry to be bugging you so much, but a thermostat to regulate the heat mat temperature is very important if you do not have one. and i know you have heard about co-hab many times, and i also cannot agree with housing a male and female unless you are a breeder, because the female might get stressed when breeding season comes, and at some point he'll start to annoy her and make her angry- as it probably happened before since you've owned them for years now
Heating pads can be dangerous unless you have them on thermostats. Deep heat projectors are the way to go for heat (this should be on a thermostat too, but unless the geckos can reach it, it’s not as nearly dangerous)
I'd put more plants in it! Other than that it's great and I believe in giving animals more than the minimum requirement of space. This is amazing! What brand is your tank by the way?
