hey Scott, when the classic is finished and you get back to just fun fishing and just messing around id love to see some content of you and your dad out on the boat, i remember watching him on tv waaaay back in the day growing up, and i think it'd be really cool to see you guys out together

Roland has his own channel if you're interested and yeah I remember watching his pops fishing on TV when I was a kid. Taught me how to tie a palomar knot. At his age and the way he still gets up and down the bank to fish is amazing. Roland will always be a legend.

I'm 35 years old. I remember sitting on my dad's lap on the weekends watching "Fishing With Roland Martin". Here I am, 25 to 30 years later sitting here with my son on my lap watching you, Scott. I ve never gotten this perspective on any pro bass event much less the classic. Had no idea that many fans show up at daybreak and offer luck to the participants. Shows the loyalty of fisherpeople. Thanks Scott for sharing. Wanted to add, of all things I ve seen you do , tourneys you won, taking time to interact with fans and especially the kids is the most awesome tribute you have. I can only imagine how much that means to them and I garentee they will remember that the rest of their lives.

You and your dad have a special relationship. I lost my father this past December. He was 62. Gone too soon, but I can remember special moments with him as well a lot like yours. Huge fan of yours. Blast off is always heart pumping in small local tournaments to 500 boat tournaments my husband and I fish. We run a Bullet 21xd/300 proXS so we pretty much lead the pack in 99% of tournaments we enter.. hearing all those outboards dig in at launch is amazing. The smell of the older 2 strokes idling waiting for the for the start omg I love it.

Same I was sitting there with my stepson when he got in for the final day I yet good job Scott and you turned looked and waved. That made his day for even acknowledging us I’m super proud of you for making it to the final day on your first classic people go to many of these and never make it that far. Keep on doing you relax and just go fish and don’t over think it because you know how to catch fish just like seeing you do good an not getting sent home the first day but some times we need some of those to regroup and get are feet back under us. Your super power is what I call relaxed intensity. This equals more time in the zone. Pressure begets frustration...the zone buster. Prestigious as it is, a classic trophy would only amount to one more addition to an unbelievably long list of impressive victories. This goes for both you and your dad, two of the biggest legends in the sport. It's said that no one remembers who came in second but I can assure you this isn't true. Your dad was every bit "the man" to me when he placed second, just as he had always been. When I made the comment to Hilary about a Martin winning the classic it was only meant as inspiration for her. Classic winners as you know aren't necessarily legends and the prestige often only exists in the moment. I believe Hilary will likely come into her own, expanding on all you have taught her just as you have done with what your dad taught you (us). You've definitely planted the seed, as that girl is ate the hell up with fishing. However, I suspect her passion has as much to do with a legacy as it does anything else. By all means continue to chase the dream but know that it is certainly not required to create a legend which already exists. Regardless, I look forward to the extensive vicarious life the Martins continue to provide me. Not to mention the win we shared which is still one of the fondest memories of my life. Thanks brother and tight lines.

This was fun to follow Scott, I followed each day on Bass Trakk and then watching this video got me all choked up, the morning of day 2 and seeing pops come up on the stage and talk brought it all together, the tears came pouring out my friend....All them Saturday or Sunday mornings watching Roland and now getting a chance to watch another favorite...Pops is my 1a favorite and you are there also as 1b...Love watching you guys! Awesome Scott that awesome you have made it this far in a career that most people could only dream about you have worked really hard I know. When I was little I remember waking up early on Saturday mornings and watching bass master. I love bass fishing. I have been fishing tournaments for years. I fish with luke Devere he is nephew of John Devere that fishes with Bill Taylor all the time. If you know them We have been good buddies and fished a lot of tournaments since high school 15 years ago.

For one Elite tournament I wanna see SMC. Yeah. Just go into it thinking it's just another one of your Scott Martin Challenges and have that mind set. You know your have the skill set and knowledge. Could the self pressure of wanting to achieve a Classic win play into overthinking the tournaments. Just one tournament.
