Im chilean and im living in Germany, i take a train to go to my job, it is 20 minutes ...AND: but many times it is delayed and then I must waiting sometimes 1 hour or the next! I buy a car as soon as I can.

Yes, the famous "Akademische Viertelstunde" (academic quarter). Still so common at German universities that it is often not mentioned separately. Sometimes with c.t. (cum tempore) or s.t. (sine tempore) marked, to make it clearer.

And the beer is a Bavarian thing. Beer is one of the staple foods there. Three bottles for breakfast - no problem if you drive to work afterwards. But if you take a cab to the festival and bring a gram of marijuana with you ... your driver's license is gone.

I may add some additional information for foreigners: The most important: the university is free and open to everyone. If you want to take part, you are free to do so. You will not pass any exams for sure, but you will get educated. As a regular student you do not pay for tuition, you will pay just a service fee ( for a year ~ € 1000.-). Foreign license valuable for six months only: Yes, we are nice to foreigners and offer them some time to adapt and to get regular. We will not force you to pass our quite difficult license test immediately after arrival. So - what is "I do not get it" here. It is a friendly gesture to give you some time to adapt. Weihenstephan is not "the first brewery" but it is the worlds oldest still existing brewery, founded in the year 1040. There are no classes at university, it is more like "events" and as you will not be able to leave one room and enter the next one in the same moment, there is always a gap of 15 minutes between the "events".

The 15 minutes are c.t. = cum tempore. Latin, which means with time. The "akademisches viertel" (academical quarter). This is usual at German universities. Notice that for example for some appointments, they are s.t. = sine tempore, without time. Beer is a basic food in Bavaria, therefore you are allowed to drink it just like water, milk, coffee...

They are dog friendly there because many forestry students are hunters and have a dog. It’s not normal in Germany that dogs are allowed on the Campus 😂

Mensa in Latin means table. So it refers to the table where all the students take their lunch. In the medieval universities Latin was the lingua franca as is English becoming. Wir haben immer gesagt: Der Student geht solange zur Mensa bis er bricht.

You can't drive forever with a (any) foreign license because otherwise we would have a lot of strange drivers on the road who avoid the regular process. E.g. get a cheap license abroad and avoid all that is taught and required to get a German driver's license. (Including the costs which make this even more likely to happen.) And to make it easier on tourists and expats the first six month (other countries vary, even for the different USA states it is not applied the same way) they have a chance to study for it without being without transportation. It makes perfect sense if you look not just at the physical facts but to the long term perspective. Think legally not conveniently! Or sustainably if you will.

I definitely had a lot of stressful moments! Actually, thesis was about Honduras not Mexico. I made it in collaboration with the United Nations and they had a project in Honduras I found super interesting so we decided to build on it for my thesis :)

Estuve unos años trabajando en investigación básica en laboratorios y no me gustó del todo, estuve tmb en organizaciones internacionales y tampoco me llenó al 100%, sentía que mi potencial no se usaba a su mayor rendimiento. Mejor decidí crear mi propio trabajo y hacer lo que de verdad me apasiona. Mi estudios fueron súper multidisciplinarios entonces hay mil cosas en las que te puedes enfocar (en esta maestría hasta te preparan en cuestiones de comunicación y marketing de la sustentabilidad!) y de lo que puedes trabajar. Llevo ya un año trabajando en un proyecto personal que lanzaré muy pronto relacionado a lo que estudié! Estoy súper emocionada por qué es algo que por fin integrará muchas de las cosas que me gustan y que estudié y me permitirá seguir haciendo videos, algo que también me apasiona muchísimo. Jaja disculpa que no tengo respuesta concreta xD soy de esas personas que no se pueden quedar en solo una caja jaja 🤷🏽‍♀️ ya en unos días más les platicaré todo más a fondo 😊😊😊

Me gustaría aprender alemán y quedarme allí, viví en Munich por 2 meses y me encantó. Se me hace difícil el idioma, pero ya aprendí inglés y noruego y sé que es posible dominar alemán también☺️ me entra tanta nostalgia pensando en Alemania🇩🇪🥰 sé que nunca seré alemana, pero vale la pena intentar😂😂

Vivo en estrasburgo, Francia y estoy haciendo una maestría ahi, este es mi ultimo año, vivo cerca de alemania pero aun mi aleman no es tan fluido como para irme alla, espero poder irme vivir un día, ser bilingue en francés no me es suficiente 🥺😩
