Yes, that's the AU name, cuz I really dunno how else to describe it XD I love these two sm that I just wanna see them be together and happy qwq. The idea for this AU came from my fanfic "That Stupid Little Waiter" where it's basically Dead Plate but Vincent didn't have pyschopathic tendencies, is normal and has an obvious crush on Rody XD
I have to say, I gotta give some credit for this video idea to one of my readers angry_trans on AO3, who mentioned in their comment about listening to this song because it fitted the chapter lol, and after listening to it again, I speedran this animatic in like- 6 hours? (With fixes, thumbnail art and editting the next day). I really dunno how I did it or why for that matter, I just knew I had to make use of the inspiration I was having at the time. Well hope you like this regardless!

Thing is, Vince in question isn’t even the toxic one. He thought that cooking Manon would help make Rody happier, and so he cooked Manon for Rody’s sake, so he could be happy. Same for when he cooked Rody, he was drunk, and out of his mind. Along with that, he wanted to taste what food with “emotions” were, and wanted to finally taste.

@@kleiinja I see your point. I think without all of that, he's quite normal, in the sense that he doesn't just go out and kill people. I do think he has somewhat of a psychopathic tendency that stems from his desperation to taste, leading him to think if he feeds Rody someone he loves, Manon, then he'd be able to taste again through Rody.

I mean the only problem with their in-game relationship is that Vince killed Manon and then tried to force Rody into eating her (I would also force my crush to eat my food if I tried out something new as a master chef without working tastebuds but I probably wouldn’t threaten them/bite off their ear)

I think besides the murder tendencies and his desperation to taste, Vince was quite normal in the sense that he has it together most of the time. Rody was the one with issues that he had to work through, but without the murder of Manon, I do think he would've been able to lead a normal life as well and probably move on

@@LonelyDuck69 I don't think that “everything was fine”, everything SEEMS to be fine because of the sweetheart personality (and pov) of Rody (idk if I explain myself, srry if it offends you) but actually Vince let his desire to taste into another level, and also, Vince killed him (Rody) in two finals (and who knows if he cooked him or not after it), and during the other two finals Rody kills him and in the other they separated (and Rody doesn't discovered the truth of Manon) To make it short, it wasn't all right, and, in my opinion, even if they look good together, they wouldn't be more than just boss and employee, as much they could be become friends (until Rody discovers that Vince is actually a psycho) I'M SORRY FOR ALL THE TEXT, I'M JUST GIVING MY OPINION AFTER PLAYING THE GAME 😭

For the people who don't know. The animation is about the game Dead Plate. It takes place in 1960's France. We play as Rody a "pathetic sopping wet mess of a man (the creators words)" Our girlfriend breaks up with us and instead of letting her go we start working at a bistro to save money to win her back. The owner of the bistro Vincent is gay (and can't taste anything) but has to date Rody's girlfriend because she wants to date him and he can't say no because her parents are famous food critics. Vincent falls in love with Rody and decides to cook the girlfriend for Rody. Rody finds out and there are 4 endings in one Rody burns the bistro with Vincent inside, in two endings Vincent eats Rody because he thinks his love for Rody will bring his sense of taste back and in one both Rody and Vincent live. The creator did say if Rody got over Manon he and Vincent would've dated.

OMg, great animation! Your colouring skills are insane, you also show light very well. I wanted to say, tho, study anatomy a bit more. The side view of a face could look a lot better if you change the jaws of a characters. You should see what i mean if you search up some photos of people.
