IMO Dooney & Coach were quintessential gateways into "luxury" handbags for the 80's & 90's. I still have my Coach oversized clutch from 95' and it still looks good because it was real leather. Definitely enjoyed this review of your collection. Have a wonderful weekend.

Yesss!!! I literally have the same story! My mother gifted me a Dooney & Bourke for my 16th birthday and babyyyy-you could not tell me ANYTHING walking through Oakland High School! I was the first of my friends to have my drivers license and a Dooney & Bourke! Chile-shut it down! 😂😊

I received my first luxury bag as a gift from my husband in 1992, and it was a Dooney & Bourke. I too still have my bag and plan to pass it on to my first granddaughter. Dooney & Bourke continues to create quality bags but rarely are recognized. It's awesome to see a video that celebrates quality, style, and affordability. Love your videos!❤️
Wonderful that you continue to own and wear your 1st luxury handbag! I’m 50 and I still have all my Coach bags from high school. They are in great condition! Coach was so different, then! The quality of the leather was unparalleled!! Plus they offered free repair/restoration! I attended a, predominantly, Black public high school, in Chicago, in the 80’s and a LARGE population of the girls wore, genuine, Coach, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton handbags and belts! Looking back, that was something to see! Lol! So many girls far better dressed than the teachers!! Have mercy!😳🤣😂 Cheers!💐

I love watching you...its like kee-kee-ing wit yo gurls. Quality and intention OVA quantity every time. I purged my collection a couple months ago and gave away bags I had never worn, they were impulse buys or just a colorway I felt I wanted but not necessarily something I would actually carry. Instead of waiting for the perfect bag...money down the drain...my bad...just blessed someone else (looking at it from the positive perspective). Looking for a pink bag, but don't wear pink or have 1 pink sweater in the closet 🥴. Nope, no more of that foolishness. Your collection is very nice.
It's never complete!! When we see a bag we fall in love with it, it's just an organic move. After years of no additions, last year I added 3, chemistry happens!! You have great taste and a really uplifting outlook. I really enjoy your channel.

My first luxury bag was a Gucci in the 80’s and I was about 20 years old. Yes, I’m old. My friend and I loved looking at fashion magazines and dreaming about all the fashion that we didn’t see in our city. One day we were walking passed a luggage store in the mall and we saw the Gucci bag . We put them on layaway and you can just imagine how we felt when we stunted with these bags. We live in Norfolk, Va which is a neighboring city of Virginia Beach. So if you know you know. We ain’t never had many fashion choices here. It’s been almost 40 years and my friend still has hers. I wish I had mine!

My handbag collection was completely destroyed by a house fire in 2019 - 20 years of LV, Gucci, Chanel, Coach...so, I'm rebuilding and completely indecisive about what I want to buy again. I love how you still have your first luxury bag. I wanted the Dooney heart bag in junior high or high school, but my parents would never get me a bag like that. So in my late twenties, I hunted it down on the preloved market and I still have it today! It sits right next to my Chanel now.
I don't have the Pillow Tabby, but snatched up the Willis 18 in silver metallic with the gold hardware - and it is STUNNING! It's like a dream dupe Lady Dior and I get compliments each time I wear it. The Coach metallics are gorgeous.

I love how you cherished your first Dooney Burke bag purchased by your mom. I remember wanting a Dooney &Burke. I still have my very first bad too. It is a Gucci bag brown with the classic G's and its round in shape. I was 16 and saved up many CHECKSSSSSS and when I had enough RAN to Gucci on 5th Ave in NY. I wear her every now and then. I have always loved a good bag since I was very young. I loved your collection especially the Hermes.

I purchased two of those Fendi mini baguette charms. I bought the Zucca print on the day before the shut down in March 2020. I have the graphite metallic one, too. They are very cute. We wore the bamboo earrings (door knockers) in the 80’s, too. You are a great storyteller. ☺️

Other than that, I’m a tote girl and usually bought Dooney until they stopped making my favorite tote in the size that I need. Dooney was my first luxury bag too lol! I’m getting the Gucci Ophidia tote later this year. I'm WITH you on Louis Vuitton SLGs. I have the desk agenda (that I use as a book cover), two medium agendas that I use as my everyday planner (with Cloth & Paper inserts and a few from Infinite Lotus) - I bought a second one this year because I don't ever want to have to use another agenda for the rest of my LIFE lol and I know I'm set with two so I just rotate them - I don't think Louis is going to sell them that much longer so I snatched it up so that I'll still have it at 65 LOL, the phone case from way back when iPhone 6 came out (which I can still use because I only buy the iPhone SE and it's the same size as the iPhone 6 and doesn't change sizes so well worth the investment for me because I'll always buy the iPhone SE when it's time for me to update my iPhone) and the 6-key holder. This year I'm getting the key pouch and next year I'm getting the cosmetic pouch. Then I'm going to get the Nice toiletry pouch and use it a jewelry box and finally the sunglass case and then my Louis SLG collection will be complete lol. Like you, I haven't really found a Louis handbag yet that I really want. I need a tote and I actually prefer Gucci's Ophidia tote over the Neverfull. I WANTED that Christian Dior tote soooo badly I didn't think I'd be able to resist BUT it's not practical for me and is a little bigger than I what I want to carry everyday.
Let’s talk “Dooney”! I remember the year(2004) I was able to purchase a few of them. It was one of my proudest moments after having children. Lol My daughter has all of them now and I’m loving the rebirth/rebranding. I’m a Ferragamo and Proenza lover but Coach(my first baby bag was a Coach tote) and Dooney warm the heart.

I'm originally from Dallas, and visit often. The Hermes boutique is at Highland Park Village, but they were appointment only when I tried to visit in February. There are some other great boutiques there if you cannot get into Hermes. I also love shopping at NorthPark Center. Lots of great luxury stores there (but no Hermes last time I checked).

I find myself always gravitating towards black bags with gold hardware, and it works for me but I feel like I need to branch out sometimes because I now have 6! (Albeit in slightly different sizes.)
I still have my mom’s classic taupe Dooney top handle taupe satchel with the brown trim that was popular back in the day. I never carry it but you can’t get rid of vintage classic Dooney and Burke.
I received a Coach small bucket bag at 14. I'm pushing 32 now and it's still the apple of my collection. She needs a little TLC to be completely perfect but she still shuts it down like an OG 😎

Whenever I see influencers showing off an endless collection of luxury handbags, it doesn't scream style icon, it just screams vulgar and out of touch. 💁 Practicality and reason in what you purchase, no matter how well-off you are, is what I see as really stylish, and you have that in spades. Dooney and Burke is still quality and high end leather. Definitely the quality of Coach, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Kurt Geiger, Brandon Blackwood, and Rebecca Minkoff. Love your collection. I’ve finally gotten to a place where I’m content with my present closet. I still have a wish list but I’m not pressed for anything. That Teddy Blake tote is 🔥.
Yes, Dooney will last a lifetime lol. During the pandemic I purchased a Dooney satchel in grey croc embossed with gold hardware. I had been in search of a grey bag with gold hardware for a while. I am 40. I will be carrying it for decades based on the quality.
