I wish I had stocked up when they had them at the CMP back in 2005 or so :-/ I love the idea of companies like IBM, and Rockola and National Postal Meter building these, everyone pitching in for wartime production.
@@JonBoyMilitaria thank you i really enjoy your videos. when i got my first m 1 helmet i went to your channel to id it i really appreciate you always replying to my comments. thank you.
wow! so much m1 carbiness!!! dont think ive ever seen so many carbine magazines in one place before lol. some cool accessories youd like are; the marines made expedient carbine ammo belts by adding baby dot snaps to regular trousers belts. then theres barrel accessories. clamp on muzzle breaks. clamp on flash suppressors. clamp on grenade launchers. blank adaptors. still a lot of possibilities out there.
It is a great hobby. I am about to be 38. I started collecting about 16 - 17 years ago. I never thought I would have the massive military collection that I have now. It has been a fun journey. I am always adding to my collection and making new videos. It definitely takes time and money to grow a collection. I always tell people to always have fun. Don't let it become a chore. Thanks for watching my videos. I have alot of others as well. Good Luck collecting.
AWESOME collection of M1 Carbine items! Do you have the Technical Bulletin and the Technical Manual's for them? I have an orig. IBM model, all IBM except for the stock is a Winchester. I paid $200 for it back in the mid 90s.
I would love to have one from all the makers. I think that would be pretty cool. That's awesome that you have a Saginaw. Congrats. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
JonBoy, I just got a great deal on an Underwood1 Carbine. serial number look up puts it late '43 - early '44 (realize its approx.) Stock is in great shape, redish brown hue not the lighter brown. The handgaurd however feels like it is a composite, almost like a bakelite plastic... trying to figure put why the handgaurd is different, have searched everywhere to see if someone made plastic replacemenfs, who k ows maybe handgaurd was missing or damaged. Any ideas?
Hey. Congrats on your score. I wonder if maybe that handguard is something that a previous owner randomly added or maybe something they made themselves?
Sometimes I get a carbine that jams every now and then, so I change new extractor springs, shoot like a dream afterward, then buy another carbine, and it never ends...
Always heard those rubbers are to keep the filth out of the mags. Nice collection of Carbines, man. My first one was a Quality Hardware. Paid $400 for it around 2000.
I paid $125.00 for my first Inland Carbine with a Highwood stock and "I" cutout for the oiler back in 1991. I was in the army for about 2 years by that time.
Do have any of the original muzzle brakes my Dad gave me an m1 on my 18th birthday and the mb came with it!! It was very weird looking so I took it off many years ago and now I don't remember what I did with it now almost 20 years later lol
Sometimes you can find it online. Check lucky gunner. I have a bunch of ww2 dated ammo for different calibers but I don't shoot that stuff. I collect it.
Nice video I love m1 carbines and accessories have owned many over the last 40 years. You have a great starter collection. Unfortunately in today's world they are hard to find in affordable prices the ammo is hard to find clips are as well. Pouches as well. Thanks for posting nice items
I have an Underwood I’ve have had for about 30 years and iv got the bayonet and a few other things for it. I also have three unopened spam cans of banderillers for it. Great shooter.
Love your channel. I attend the Wannenmachers Gun Show in Tulsa, Ok. when it comes in April and November. It is touted as the largest gun show in the world. There are 11 acres of everything you'd want or want to see during the two day show. There is usually a gentlemen there who has a display of all 10 makers of the M1 Carbine. If you ever have a chance to attend you'll have a great time.
Thank you for watching my videos. I appreciate it. I have heard of that show. Hopefully some day I can make it. I would love to own all makers of the M1 Carbine.
Nice to meet my collecting competition, you know as collectors, we are really just the current caregiver of our militaria. It's amazing to think of how many hands a particular piece has been through since it's creation. Gives credence to the saying, if only this piece could talk. Job well done, maybe see you down the trail one day. Keep your shit wired tight and good luck to you.
Thank you. I agree 100%. We are caregivers for sure. Maybe we could meet up sometime. I will be at the Show of Shows next month in Louisville, Kentucky. This will be my 5th year in a row.
Very cool indeed can not wait to see your man cave and I talk to my buddy today and he does plan on contacting you about his collection I hope you guys can work something out and you maybe purchasing some of his collection or maybe hooking him up ith someone you may buy the whole collection good luck and keep collecting and posting the video I really enjoy them
I’ve just bought a ww2 15 round mag but it has a small hole at the side at the bottom of mag where it has the makers mark which Is AI. Why is there a small hole at the side of mag? I have two Thompson ww2 mags 20 round and 30 round mags and there is a hole in the side of those two mags as well
@@JonBoyMilitaria i own a about 55 surplus rifles, but not a lot of militaria. This saturday I will go whit friends at Militaria Alla Torre, 26/27 november, in Bologna, about 3 hours from home. This show happen 4 times at year, in march/april, june, september, and now.
@JonBoy Militaria well you have a good start. I would think the hard ones to find will be Rock Ola. Postal meter, Underwood, Iver Johnson. But depending where you live maybe not.
@JonBoy Militaria yea you will they manufactured 6,000,000,100 of them you have a great chance. 👍 keep in touch I come across alot of military equipment.
You need a belt cleaning rod carrier with rod, muzzle brake, flash hider, and bolt disassembly tool, just off the top of my memory, not to mention the M3 scope. There is also the M1A1 stocked Carbine. And depending where you live, a M2. Good start.
