Very cool collection. Your macross vids are what got me into your channel when I first saw them a couple years ago. Look forward to all your videos now
WOOO! What's up Macross Gold Book Brother?! Now I wanna bust out all my old Macross collections. We practically have the same stuff with the exception of you having some that I don't and vice versa. EPIC!
Hearing you talk about this series has made me quite interested in Macross. Just ordered the complete saga online! I hope to enjoy it as much as you do!
wow!! that is one hell of a collection and one hell of an episode!! it came out great!! the part of you looking through the macross gold book is priceless!!!
I grew up on Macross and spent a lot of time in Japan picking up some of the old art books. They're REALLY good! I can't recommend them enough! Now that I can finally read them, I can appreciate how much work went into developing the universe. Excellent video!!
robotech boxed set just came in at my local dvd store this month i picked it up because of your videos. thanks dude! hadnt heard about it untill i started following your channel :)
wow thats a very nice collection, and those laserdiscs were awesome, i havent heard of macross before to be honest, but ill definitely check it out now!XD
Great Macross collection HCG! I'm also a fellow Macross fan (obviously). The Kawamori design book is my favorite book in my collection. I'm still trying to look for the Kazutaka Miyatake design works.
Great video! You have some really nice stuff there. My collection isn't nearly as big, but I'm proud of my VHS Macross Plus tapes, the Playstation Macross Plus game, and the both Macross Plus Soundtracks. I keep forgetting to get the Sharon Apple CD though. Yeah, I love Macross Plus the most. :P But all of the series are great.
dude, you got the gold book thats awesome, i'm not worthy, i'm not worthy (j/k lol) seriously that it's quite an impresive collection you got there, you should ad now the macross frontier blue ray discs, that's the most awesome show i saw this year & it has the feeling of the old school macross.
Macross is very much my favorite anime franchise next to Gundam and one of the greatest sci-fi epics of our time. VOTOMS however is my aboslute favorite anime of all times.
WOW. You have the Perfect Memory book! My friend had that in high school, and I was rather jealous. I've never heard of the Gold Book, though. I have the movie and Flashback on LD too. I never got around to getting them on DVD. Also, I have that very same poster hanging up in my cubicle at work! Great video!
I effing love macross and totaly agree with what you said! Macross II was okaaay, but Plus and Zero were amazing. I just can't get into 7 or frontier, tho.
When I think of Macross I think. Wow the detailing, the animation, the colouring just amazing how awesome this is. And then I look at modern anime and think what the hell happened the last 25 years?
Macross was always one of those interesting looking series that I never looked into for whatever reason. My thing was always Guyver and Tekkaman Blade.
I'm like 13 years late but I've also just started collecting the Macross LP for the OG show. I've got the Vol 1 LP TV BGM and Macross Song Collection so far. They are pricy but not as much as I thought they would be. Macross is hugely underrated and wish they'd release it on Blurray
nice collection.i'm planning to check out this anime,i'm trying to download the whole thing right now.i heard people talk about this a lot, seems pretty popular so i figured i'd have a look
That's a great collection you have there. I take it you weren't that big of a fan when it came to Macross 7? It wasn't my favourite one either, but it's definitely the one I have most music cds from. And I completely agree with you about DYRL being the #1 anime movie of all time. Nothing comes close. At all.
I have Never heard of macross but now I am intrigued to check it out,as for anime in general I never was a huge fan but i do have a favourite anime and that has to be The Guyver Bio-boosted armour.
Nice collection, I am kinda out of the loop when it comes to some anime series, but is "Macross" an alternate name ort the Japanese name for "Robotech" or something?
I recently just found the Macross series you got there but it's in three animego black sleeve sets at Zia Records in Vegas there's two locations they got a ton of anime and quite a bit of old stuff too I'm guessing some collector got rid of his collection recently.
dude,im 37..we shoulda been friends bak in tha day...never, ever had a friend around that time to talk about that stuff. i grew up in podunk Lubbock, Tx and would only see handwritten, obscure fanclub pamphlets talking about and every once in a while showing scans of these things. the prices were outrageous for import. just a distant dream since my parents were barely scraping by.
Just not getting around to seeing this video, I agree completely. Macross is my all time favorite anime show. Original series and movie were fantastic, macros 2... not so much it was alright, macros 7 was doable. Macross plus was wonderful... now Macross Zero was fantastic and was Frontier... the frontier movies were beautiful and wonderful both of them.
lol Man I had all those books, plus some he didn't show. I had that Macross the movie gold book, bought for $100 at a comic con. It only had the poster, not the 4 frames of the actually movie as a book mark that some had. Years later I sold it on e-bay for 10 times that amount. Which I really regret now, ahh but this brings back memories. Keep true to your hobby. lol
Damn, thats a great collection. I love anime but I only own a few anime movies like Vampire Hunter D 1 and 2 and the Fist of the North Star movie. I also have the complete Deathnote manga series (except for the 13th book, I need to find it) I used to own the complete Love Hina series, but I lost some of the books and I ended up selling the rest. I feel like a dumbass for doing that, I seriously need to go and buy the whole series again. Anyways, fucking great collection you have!
i have a request, i think you should review, on halloween, silent hill. you could have robman dressed up as pyrimid head (sorry for the spelling) then fight him with a shotgun (you may want to get airsoft guns). i think the review should end like the ufo ending in silent hill, that would be cool. i am just suggesting what you could do for a halloween special, i really like the halloween reviews you do. thanks. p.s. i like macross plus out of all the macross animes.
Hey Johnny, I played "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" for the Playstation 1 is a great 2D Shooter from the Anime, released exclusively in Japan on the Sega Saturn in 1997 it was ported to PlayStation in 1999, you gotta check it out it's amazing.
Nice freakin Macross collection!! I thought I was a nerd. Actually Im worried about some of my stuff, Im worried because Im gonna get shipped out to Afghanistan and It needs a good home in case I don't make it out alive. Interested? I have some art books and other assorted macross media/toys. I can make a package for you and leave it to be shipped in case...
BTW. there is a macross frontier movie in the works. on Ep. 25 is said it was 75% done, hopefully it will receive a treatment similar to DYRL. On another issue i see forward to watching you macross toy collection. i actuaaly have a few of them, including to macross F's VF-25F. right now i'm waiting for a nora SV-51 gamma & planning to buy some more good next year. P.S. search for "macross plus caws", just a thing i made some time ago.
Man I loved Macross or Robotech, right? I grew up watching it, was the first anime I saw all the way through. To me it beats all other Mecha animes and mangas.
I starved for a good mecha series and I heard good things from Macross....Do you think that the Robotech version is a good representation or should I go with the original? And what are your thoughts on M.O.S.P.E.D.A?
Hey, folks! Come to our one day only, annual, Macross related convention called Super Dimension Convention happening October 5th, 2019!!! We always have special guests from Japan, a big dealer’s room with lots of vintage Macross items, karaoke, costume contests, concerts, raffle giveaways, video games, a museum with AMAZING, rare, collectibles, food trucks, and cosplay!!!
Robotech artbook at hastings and a tore up VHS of Galaxy Express 999 was the closest i ever got quality anime here in Lubbock. Oddly, Amarillo, a sister city 2 hrs away was wayyy better at getting this stuff i come to find out after going to college with some friends from there. the net and of course wayyy more cash gives me access to these things.
You have a good collection of Macross, yet to me whats missing is the ADV dvd set which was the only unedited SDF Macross series with the the slightly poorly english dubbing, however since ADV folded it maybe hard to find the set online. Other than Macross 7, Frontier, and Zero your collection is good u still need to get the other 3 series. Maybe u should try collecting the video games as well best choice would be the PS2 game, PSP Macross Ace Frontier series, and the recent PS3 game. Don't get me started why there wasn't anymore Macross released in the us to me the most blame should go to freakin Harmony Gold.
I must admit I used to be a bit of a Urusei Yatsura nut a few years back, collected practically everything in Manga form and loads of figures, Also got into Tenchi Muyo & El Hazard as well. But i'm surprised you don't own any Macross cels, any reason why?
Im with you.. To me Macross will always be the first TV series, The move "Do you Remeber Love" and Flashback.. Everything else honestly was a fail in my personal opinion. As for Macross Zero there was alot of potential but they lost it somewhere near the end... What couldve been a great story went astray and ended up as nothing.. :(
I was never a fan of Macross. Then again, I'v never seen ANY of Macross so I guess that's fair. I always kinda leaned more towards Gundam myself. But it's an interesting enough looking series. I got a $20 in Reward Zone points at Best Buy. Maybe I pick up that big ol huge Macross box set they sell there. I forget what series' are in it.
macross plus is my favorite. also macross plus was not supposed to be a show, in japan it was a movie but when they brought it to america, they said it was too long so they made it into a show instead of a movie when it hit america.
