I enjoyed seeing your thoughts on the process. Not many people show the issues with album vs single mastering! I don’t know if you use Cubase 10 or Studio One often, but, I was wondering how you feel about Samplitude vs other DAWs. I have to admit, the interface looks a little outdated/clunky and perhaps technical? But does it really have power features that make it better? For example, the object based plugins, etc - I think in Cubase you’d have to do direct offline processing on a clip but then it’s destructive. Not sure if it will be a big deal for me though to do event based plugins. (Although fantastic for mastering an album like this!) I am considering adding WaveLab to my collection just for mastering. Not really sure if I want to take the time to learn another DAW. Anyway if anyone has any top features they feel are special to Samplitude, it would help!
Thanks for your interest John. Part 2 will be oriented at using included tools and plugins of Samplitude.. I'll need time to use them myself in order to give informed opinions. I'm preparing a second video on independence sample. But mastering part 2 is coming soon !!
I want to know how you do sampling in samplitude, the same way you would do it in studio one, ableton live, cubase 10 and fl studio, I don't know how to do it, could you please tell me how to do it?
Sampling which can be controled by midi and controlers can be done through Magix independance (included in the pro and suite version) here's how it works : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--p45iH8W494.html
The base is almost the same, but Sequoia adds more tools for BROADCASTING, POST-PRODUCTION AND MASTERING and it also has more audio restoration tools. . . Think of it as the big brother of samplitude (which is a great and complete DAW by itself)
@@LossLeadas you should realize that I'm not a Magix Rep.. But by what I understard, it's the broadcast and postproduction part that we don't have in Samplitude.. You know live broadcasting TV news or similar project. You can't do that with Samplitude.. It was initially created to compete with protools and at the time was a bundle with hardwares which made a solide protool alternative (protools was even more expensive if you went with their hardware.. I'm more of a "get what you need" guy. Since I'm doing audio production and youtube videos, I'm not sure I could benefit from all Sequoia offers.. ;)
Yes of course, click on setup (top corner right of the mixer) you get to chose to add AUX and Subgroup.. After creating one, select the tracks and reassign the outputs to the subgroups.. Check my mixing tutoriels I nearly always do this with drums.. ;)
You're right I didn't talk about it or even use it in the video.. The obvious reason to have a second track is to put some reference material on it and direct the output in a way to bypass the plugins you are using on the project ;)
Marco, New to Samplitude X4 Suite, but what iZotope Ozone is being used? Only have Elements now, not Standard nor Advanced. Do have FabFilter Total Bundle though. Thanks for your time & efforts here Marco.
I used Ozone advanced... But with samplitude suite, you should be able to mix and master with the included plugins, everything is there.. I have Samplitude Pro and I miss all the goods coming in the suite.. When time comes to upgrade, I probably will switch to the suite !
@@MarcoPrimeau yes they offered to me for $149 virus the wopping $599 price tag. But was a good deal for the price I think. Came with Independence Premium 70GB Sound Library, Melodyne Essentials, and older Sound Forge 11. So will learn this product, watch your vids and see if this is for me. Thanks!
Sadly every time I load Samplitude X4 Suite it seems to disable RU-vid audio, says I need to reboot, but if I close X4 your video works again. Maybe a proprietary audio driver, no idea. Will watch this without X4 running.
No it's not proprietary problem. It depends on your audio interface and how it's configured. With my RME fireface 800, I need to assign the default audio output in windows /control pannel / then in my realtime RME mixer, I need to direct this output to my main monitors...
If the sample rate of the project is different than Windows sample rate, Samplitude will get the priority on Windows' audio. That could be the issue you're runnin into.
