You have a great story, this is the reason I would have gone to a good B school but I didn't know it back when I was prepping for CAT. My coaching teachers made me memorize the answer to the question, "why MBA?", an answer that wasn't mine. That day I decided to drop out until someday when I would have a good enough reason to pursue this. I feel a lot of youngsters today are like my past self, singing up for MBA for all the wrong reasons. If I ever decide to pursue it again (I really don't know if I will), it will be because I want to spend time with people from diverse backgrounds, people who are better than me in a lot of ways and grow alongside them. It's really amazing that you knew your reasons right from the beginning. 😀
@@warikoo Sir in your opinion which is the best job profile MBA Passouts should aim for considering both pay and work life balance? 🙏🙏 Can you please reply sir 🙏🙏
You may have gone to ISB when it was new but kids today kind of associate the school with you. I do a lot of mentor ship sessions helping people figure out their mba school, journey etc. And ISB is mostly - oh the school Ankur Warikoo went to :) Also I still remember having a short chat with you when I was applying to ISB in 2014 and u were kind enough to share your wisdom with an absolute stranger like me :) Thanks for all that you do!
Hey would you recommend people gettjng an executive MBA during this time of pandemic? Considering this is not a small investment what would you suggest
This one line from the video struck me. The minute we think we deserve something we stop learning. That's dangerously true. I needed to hear that. Thank you sir
@@warikoo hi sir loved the video, but there is a fake channel with your name, although ya your channel name has a tick so it's fine but the fake channel should be banned
I like the quote " if we are spending time people like us ,we are not learning something new .We are just becoming a bigger version of who we are , not a better version of who we are " 💯❤️
Great sir, totally great! I can realize it right now! I have completed my MBA this year! 15 Lakh ka loan and 11 LPA ka job! And this not so good when compared with others! But the experience, learning, confidence & of course the network that I got right now, is huge! I can totally relate to that! And I am even open to sharing that knowledge with anyone who wanna aspire for MBA! Please do connect to me in case of any guidance!
Hi, can you tell me why should I take MBA? You are experienced and know a lot. I'm a really introvert type of person, who hate public speaking, don't take presentation, doesn't know what they wanna do in future, not creative. I have 3 choices to take Science, Commerce and Arts. I know that I wanna take commerce because i want to be in that business field to have a overview of everything and learn the basics of business but after that what should I do? Like should I straight away go for MBA or have to give a exam or job experience. I'm really confused and I'm being true to myself.
Me as a 26 year old confused guy who did engineering because I was good in science and technology but was not enjoying it after doing it made me realise something was off and I didn't know what I love to do what makes me happy untill one fine day I decided to get into a B school and get into marketing or Business Analytics and the very same day I see your video in recommendation, wow!
"what you are good at and what makes you happy could be entirely two different things" this one statement is the answer to all my question that i keep asking myself...
I was learning my language lesson and just jumped here. Things you mentioned was relatable. Having conversation with different people gives you lot of insight.🎈
The way he approached to imagine salary after graduation is exactly how I imagine, always look for the lowest salary offered and imagine I am the one getting it and then plan the next transactions, so that's a relief that I am not the only crazy one.
Flat out one of the best from you, that I’ve heard, Ankur. The struggle, the difficulty, the confusion, the decision making, the financial implications of it, every single thing has been so beautifully highlighted. I’m mid way through my career, about to start out, on an ISB MBA program, and this video nails the topic heads on. You’re an inspiration, Ankur. Keep it going! 👏
So much relatable to my MTech journey.. I feel it doesn't matter if it's MBA or MTech or anything, the basic principles & work ethics remains the same.. and what you have beautifully put in the end, people should approach it as a transformational journey than a transactional deal..
"We are just getting a bigger version of who we are not the better version of who we are" this line really hit me hard sir thank u so much keep making such videos !!!
Hi Ankur! I will be joining my B-school in July and the timing of your video is just brilliant. Really enjoyed how naturally and candidly you explained your experience
I feel so connected with your video ...I am recent Mba graduate ...working at TCS.......your story replicates with mine one .....Thank you for your RU-vid sessions...feeling more connected with warikoo
Your mba experience made me more confident about the thing that I should go for an full time 2 year top mba program, because I m right now in 1st of year of my Undergrad. Thanks for sharing with us your mba experience.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can relate to your story. I am going through the MBA, I am in a three-year program and I graduate next year. The experience has forever changed me and opened my eyes to areas I didn't even know about yet affect us in our everyday lives. I don't know what the future holds but I am excited about it.
You are phenomenal, Ankur. This video is an absolute gold mine. Thank you for sharing the truth, the way things should be. It was a real pleasure listening to you. I never really realized that 16 minutes can have this impact to my thought process. The mental model that you possess is quintessential for every young mind who is about to start off for making his/her life. Signing off with that splendid of yours was the best epilogue I ever sensed. Thank you!!!
Ankur, I am someone who is dropping out of a PhD program in Physics to pursue my interest in data science. I follow your videos but just got to know that we have same background. Not that I have taken inspiration for quitting but thanks for the reassurance ❤️.
I wish I had seen this video before. My son graduates from ISB Hyd today. I do hope he too has has these wonderful experiences that you talk of. Unfortunately, due to the covid restrictions, we cannot be there with him today.
This is so so inspiring... I cudnt get to this dream college but all i can say now is i m very happy after listening to you...so much positivity. Your mindset teaches us so much... Thank u and keep up the good work... Lot of love to u... 🥰
WoW one of the best experience sharing video I have ever seen on any platform. Thanks for such a beautiful video Mr.Ankur Warikoo ☺️. You are really doing a great Job!
Hey Ankur! I watch all your stuff, including the new short podcast bytes. So excited to see you talk about ISB in detail! I will be joining ISB in a couple of months (batch of 2022), so thank you for the gyaan! Noted! ♥️
Hey, how was your experience? Can you brief about the process? Especially when to give GMAT? Also rn I am working and thinking of leaving the job to study will that affect my resume ? I have 3.7 years of work ex in MNC
This reminds of my choice of program which I never heard of in my engineering. Maters in Supply Chain Management. But after 1.5 years I have understood that I have not only learnt what my subject is but helped me evolve as a more intellectual individual, at least that's what I think of myself, and finally recently got an internship in the field I tried for a long time. Just happy that I have been able to relate with every video you make, and somewhat in a very small percentage I have kind of a same path.. Just hope I do something great as you with all your guidance and blessings. ❤️🙏🏻 Warikoo Sir, As Always OP
TQ ❤️ for your words sir, i really planned to go abroad to study but now i will definitely go there and learn more valuable lessons that which can make my life better.
So true what you said at 7:07 that there's so much to learn and so much to explore in your MBA journey. I had a similar experience when I went for an MBA program at IIM Rohtak. 15:22 I agree with what you said "If you take it as a transaction, it will be just that, while if you look at it as a life experience, then that can change your life". And, the best one 13:25, "If you have a way of managing the worst case scenario, you have a way of managing everything".
Sir, That last point of the worst case scenario which you mentioned is mainly influenced by the external factors like friends, society etc. This is something which I also faced before starting my MBA as I am not from a top B school but as you said that you should have confidence to reach the level. Really Inspiring video and very much relatable 👍
I had goosebumps when you said "it's not only rich kids, but people like you and me go there" only a middle class student can understand what it means to risk it all on education loan! Thank you so much for putting out so much positivity and hopes. You are best, sir @warikoo!!
I don't think we need business schools in today's time. So much of good stuff is coming everyday online. Thanks to you and Ranveer allahabadia I kind of feel I am on right path. Really grateful. 🙏
Sir, you speak so well and the way you sign off is so soothing to listen to. Sir, I'm a final year engineering student and I'm unable to secure a job till now. A part of me wants to go for an MBA degree in Human Resources, but somewhere I also feel it's high time I start earning money as I don't want to be a financial liability on my parents any longer. I've always wanted to go for an MBA degree in human resources and now I feel that once I start earning money, I won't be able to study as I do now. Sir, I could relate to your video because even I feel clueless about what I should be doing right now or who I should be talking to so that I get a clear picture of my life. I will be obliged if you could guide me at this point in my life.
I Love you Ankur sir. I felt it was me talking and sharing experience with myself. You are such a humble and best story teller person. I am already following your path. Please make more videos based on your life experiences. Thank You sir & God bless you.
I think the students at ISB are more entitled. I went to recruit at ISB and IIM Indore. The candidates at IIM Indore were more humble, talented and waiting for challenges compared to ISB mohali. Compared to IIM it is still a rich kid school .

Sir but due to this covid situation, it might not be that effective as it used to be during normal offline classes. Because there is little chance that you communicate freely as it used to be during offline classes. Well, thank you so much for sharing your journey.😇
