There are so many HEALTH BENEFITS to being on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Not only does it alleviate the multitude of symptoms of menopause, including forgetfulness, brain fog, hair loss, depression, sleeplessness, lack of energy, vaginal shrinkage, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, mood swings, and weight gain, it also decreases the risk of age-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s Disease. However, like many therapeutic treatments, there are some risks to HRT.
HEALTH RISKS: The general consensus is that there are minimal risks to taking bio-identical hormone replacement therapy when compared to its vast benefits.However, the risks are real. Here is who should NOT be taking HRT:
*Women who are at high risk of certain breast cancers should weigh their risk of breast cancer with their risk of heart disease, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s Disease. Make sure you keep up with your yearly mammograms.
*Women who are more than 60 or 70 years of age, or who are more than 10 years post-menopause, should not begin HRT.
The Women’s Health Initiative Study (WHI), conducted in 2002, presented a setback to the field of women’s health, frightening women from taking Hormone Replacement Therapy. The study was conducted on women aged 50-79 years old, many whom were 10 years post-menopause. Synthetic hormones were given to one group of women while a placebo was given to a second group; participants’ health histories were followed in order to determine health advantages in preventing heart disease, breast cancer, colorectal cancer and osteoporosis. The study wrongfully assumed that synthetic hormones would react in the body in the same manner as bio-identical hormones. The results of this flawed study have been devastating on the progression of women’s health. The study - later refuted - claimed an increase in health risk in all categories, particularly an increase in heart attacks and breast cancer. The findings of this study, persistently disputed by countless doctors around the globe, continue to strike unnecessary fear in many women.

Thanks Darnell, appreciate your honesty and always bringing video content to us that we need. How can I find a doctor in my area, who could help me?

Thank you Christine! I have 3 suggestions as far as finding the right doctor... 1. You can contact Dr. Naina at nainamd.com. She treats people all over the world. 2. Click on the link in the description for Menopause Taylor. This is a RU-vid channel entirely devoted to menopause. Dr. Taylor is retired, but she does one-on-one consultations and will lead you in the right direction. 3. Call your obgyn and ask for a referral to a hormone specialist. They may try to get you to come in and get treated there, but you really want a specialist for hormones. Hope this helps. xo

I take my estrogen cream in the morning and my progesterone at night but still do not sleep.Can I take my estrogen at night instead of the morning?
@LiveYoungLifestyle
@LiveYoungLifestyle 3 года назад
Yes, estrogen is (usually) best at night if it's in a cream form. I would consult with your doctor and let them know you are still having trouble sleeping. There is a circadian rhythm for hormones for sure! I also did a whole video on how to get your best night's sleep. It's on in the Holistic Health playlist. Hope this helps! xo

I think I need to book another telephone appointment with my doctor to have this conversation. I noticed a gradual start of peri-menopause. I live in Canada and I don’t know what medicine is available for me but I guess the first start is to get a blood test. Would you happen to know how covid vaccines can affect women starting the menopause?💋

Yes Christina, early detection of hormonal decline is so important. The earlier you get on them the more your bones, brain and heart are protected. I've never heard of covid vaccines affecting menopause.

I've heard that as well! Many women love them. All doctors have their own preferred delivery method, but it's so important to be your own advocate and find something that works for YOU. Have a great day Carol! xoxo
