ive got one myself and i LOVE it!! shitty part of it is that you almost have to make every part yourself as its hard to come by aftermarket parts for this car. mine is yellow and its a BLAST to drive. best part of it is that they only made a handfull of them (not like the civic and integra)... its a rare car and its awesome
Nice to see the Capri still out there.I worked at Ford Australia during the time the Capri was made. Not a bad car ,but they did have their faults. Maybe one I worked on?
If you are looking into working on your Capri, check out the Miata roll bars. The kuminari bubble tops are almost always warped. Be careful there, they can be overpriced for what you get. Evo turbos are also a great idea instead of spending 500 to replace the stock turbo. For anything else, from oem parts to clear sidemarkers or sway bars, look at midcomustang. They've got everything you need to work on your car. If they don't have your part, they'll help you find it :)
i love what you done to it LOOKS GREAT. . . i recently bought a 91 xr2 & have found a hardtop , full body kit, kaminari top, & would love to know where you got those great mirrors, roll bar, & step plates . . . . .THANKS
just found the clear markers and seen the vid on the roll bars asked before i'd read the whole chain sorry about that . . . .what tuning shop? and can i order on-line really like those mirrors fixing to redo my car gathering up all the parts
@americarz thanks. . .will get to looking, will post mine when i get it done but on limited budget so got it broke down to a two year set up mechanical-inside-outside. . . .
You showed me that all mercury capris need a lowering kit. I hate how the nose is all up in the air. Where did you get the springs and shocks, i noticed only ones avaialable are on ebay.
5/5 Dude, you have some good taste! I'm thinking about buying one of these cars. I'd love to restyle it as good as you. How reliable is yours? The one for sale here is U.S. $2K and has 96K miles.
that version was sold in America though. It is the same as taking a 2005 GTO to an American car show. built in Australia but sold in the GTO form in 'murica
Yes i had a Red MERCURY capri convertible made in Rockdale AUSTRALIA, BOUGHT IT AT A FORD DEALERSHIP IN CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY.Loved that i bought the hard TOP with it 4 an extra $1,000.Came in handy, everyone thought i had 2 cars.Looked that different with hard top.
I used to drive one of these around 1993-94 and let me tell you from personal experience, they are pieces of CRAP! It looks like a nifty little car but believe me it was the cheapest little plastic car you can buy. That's why they only made this model around 92-94 because it was a flop. The door handles were these two cheap little piece sof plastic that snapped together and ripped out of my hands with any hard pull, the windshield wiper engine blew-out twice. But you did an awesome job with it!!
I've had the exact opposite results. I have three now. Very dependable, one has 185K on it. Lots of fun, cheap and 30MPG and best of all the top goes down.
Yep it is and my Xr2 turbo flys..! People bag them but its Reliable. And good on Fuel Consumption. If your easy on the Boost..! I love mine but this car featured is the 'Nuts.!' Cheers kim in Oz. 😎
Ok, why did you choose chrome on a car like a capri? Makes no sense. Looks like straight up rice with all that ghadi chrome. However, you take of those ugly ass wheels, paint those ugly ass rollbars and get rid of all that unnecessary red and chrome interior, then it wouldnt look half bad for a capri. Bronze/silver powdercoat wheels, black rollbars and all black interior would make this car look soooo much better. This thing looks like RICE!!!
