Special thanks to Åsa and Lars Gisel for taking time to share a piece of their amazing story of faithfulness, patience and hard, often unseen work. Mercy Ships began because of people like Asa and Lars who were willing to take a step of faith and trust in God's provision and ability to take their fish and loaves and feed the multitudes. I am so grateful to have had the chance to meet them. I wouldn't be here without the volunteers like them who were willing to stick it out in the trenches of mercy ships' early days.
