recently got the OBU installed. Sometimes we got to change things and learn how to live with it. If it gets an upgraded slimmer version I would run and change it asap.
everyone is worried about the OBU tracking speed in the future but bro. The solution is to put a Killswitch :) then have it turn on and off! HAHAHA I did it with my own because of the light distraction
I'm just worried on the GPS tracking (which may also monitor our speed). Imagine they can detect you going just 10kmph above speed limit and then getting a summon the next few days.
don't forget its a 3 wired system .. positive direct to battery, one to ignition power and ground. It's your responsibility to maintain battery power to the unit at all times.. so lay up and bikes in for heavy repairs be wary.
you can ignore it. but class 2 sport bike certainly cant. they clearance between the screen and clipon is too little. we have been playing around there is just no way to mount it at the ordinary place. we usually end up just not mounting it and just squeeze it infront of the dash
I have the new OBU install on my motorcycles. To be honest it is too big and heavy compare to the old IU for motorcycles like some !!! and best it does interrupt the riding capability on my motorcycle !! OBU requirement must be upright and on the left handle bar !!!! Can’t even place the OBU at a place where does not restrict riding view and handling !!!! What happens if involve in accident !!??????? Who to blame !!???!
I didn’t need to pay for the bracket and I didnt have to download any app. However, i just read the news, www.motorist.sg/article/2677/all-new-cars-registered-from-1-may-2024-will-come-pre-fitted-with-the-erp-2-0-obu Says here there is installation fee and an app for car users tho
After watching on how to operate the OBU. I think it's a very bad idea to use it.! Bcos not only it provides blind spots for the driver.! This also encourages the driver and rider to use the touch-screen often and as a result lose a few seconds of focusing on the busy roads.! This will cause a very high chance of accidents.! Afterall, motorist r encouraged not to use their touch-screen iphones too...!!!☝️😳🙄😬🤨😡☝️
2:10 erm...gps ya? means able to know ur speed real-time, and wont be able to bluff (unless u show proof whosoever is kicking the bucket soon) cuz calculation is based on triangulation.
My slim IU spopilt and was under warrant but end up they say change to OBU be it have warranty or not. Sucks but looked past it since im riding a naked bike. Prefer the slim IU still (more slick)
