You can switch from sport to chill easier from the steering wheel. Hold the left button down and you will see it popup on the screen. Then scroll to select.
Best addition to a Tesla especially for the regenerative intensity during the winter months. I usually turn mine down to atleast 50%. Wiper controllability is also amazing so don't have to be looking at the screen!
I have mine commander installed on passanger side near door. The best part is automatically change from chill to sport when step on petal hard. Also i can control the passager seat great for my kids
I have now traded my 2023 Model Y Performance for a 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance in the new red color. Have had it for some days, I REALLY love this car.. The look, that insane red color. And Tesla now has less stretch! Also the 20" performance rims are forged and light weight, they also look super if you just remove the largest aero bits. Adaptive dampers, refined suspension, little noise, improvements to stereo, new interior, more angry looks etc. I just.. LOVE it! Its super fun to drive. When driving it on the Norwegian mountain roads with uneven tarmac, I can think back to how good this car really is.. Its insane! Tomorrow the vacation starts, driving from Bergen to Kristiansand (west to south of Norway), then going over to hirtshals with the ferry. Looking forward to the drive. Did consider also going to germany, but ended up just doing 13 nights in Århus at an apartment hotel, then will do 1 night at fredrikshavn, then ferry back to Kristiansand (Norway), then drive back to Bergen. It will be fun, also a lot of driving in Denmark. Ive done this trip before with Model Y Performance (2023 model, berlin), also with Model 3 Performance (2019 model) - twice, also with 2017 Model X. But the 2024 Model 3 Performance will be insanely good to do the trip with, enough range, quick enough, comfortable enough and also fun/engaging to drive. I liked the Model Y performance in many ways, but I missed the 3P. But the 2019 3P while it was fast and fun, it was too bumpy and too noisy. Now also I got a hitch on the 2024 3P wihch I can bring a bike on.. Only thing that now is a minus is the sedan hatch, but my kid is now 7 years old, so I dont really need that much space any more.
Great change! The new 3P is a really potent package! Before my current MYP I had a M3P 2020, loved it. Bit as you describe a bit too bumpy an noisy. Have a safe drive and enjoy your vacation! 👍
@ItsOnlyElectric Qestionas as a new Tesla owner when in autopilot changing lanes deactivates the autopilot, resulting in the car going in full regen.... aka slamming te brakes. How is it posible that you are not slowing down when you where changing lanes? thanks in advance
@ItsOnlyElectric Tesla update changed this within the past year that deactivating autopilot also deactivates speed control. This is a critical safety improvement. We almost crashed before because the car self accelerated into a dark sharp turning offramp when we expected it to start slowing down.
we were speed constrained by following a slow vehicle in the right lane, so as soon as we turned into the exit, the autopilot stopped lane keeping but suddenly accelerated because we were no longer behind a slow vehicle. This is important to turn off speed assistance in this case.
I'm running the latest FW om my model Y and it still goes into speed limit assist when signaling and changing lane. After that the commander reactivates the autopilot within 2 seconds. Make sure to change lane early so you don't get affected by the slow var in front of you, makes the speed much more consistent
@ItsOnlyElectric So you're talking about this aftermarket device changing the cars behavior from the Tesla software design. Maybe there is an Autopilot toggle setting in Tesla software to keep speed assist active or deactivate when changing lanes ? (wife out with car now so I can't see the settings). I suggest this aftermarket device NOT keep speed setting when changing lanes. Driver simply needs to keep foot appropriately on the accelerator so it doesn't start regen braking, then reactivate Autopilot after lane. change is complete. Otherwise, it's dangerous, possibly leading to surprise acceleration.
Right on! Try Tein dampers next? :) Questions about the Knob. I have just the buttons. If you would buy with your own money, would you still get the Knob instead of just a couple of buttons? I feel that a rotating, clickable knob with a display is a bit over complicated. How is it to use while driving if you have to look at it to see what you're doing? Also, how much is it obstructing the access to the storage underneath? It seems quite big.
I would go for the whole kit with the knob or just the commander. Like the Look and feel of the knob. And if you don't want to rotate you could always stick with the 5 same actions. More static but less fiddly.
Not possible today. But I have asked devs to see if they will add support for it. It's a shortcut on the toolbar on the main screen and really easy to access anyway?
You don't set the actual temperature, you only activate the function and the car handles the temp it self as if you activated the function in the app or navigated to a fast charger. The display only shows the current temperature.
Tesla's insistence on removing all the controls and put it on the screen is a huge mistake. Maybe they will make S3XY stalks next since Tesla no longer thinks those are needed either. The ability to precondition the battery is a huge deal if you want to use non-Tesla chargers. This looks like an essential addition to any Tesla. This may be enough for me to reconsider buying a Tesla. This looks like it addresses many of my concerns with the way the Tesla works. Maybe Tesla should hire the S3XY buttons guys to reprogram how the auto wipers and auto high beams work! ROFL And phantom braking! That price is still a bargain for what it can do.
Turning stalk Full AC heating control center front instrument gauges Traditional gear shift. Preset am FM sat memory buttons . Playlist front reverse pause record in car out car video and audio.
It is cool and looks native. However voice commands are quite effective for most festures. Once Tesla will deploy their voice assistant/chatbot/grok this product will become obsolete
I dont understand why the seats is so bad in a Tesla. Its a America company and many from us are big and need Large good seats but Tesla dont have that.
@@ItsOnlyElectric yes 🙌🏼 it could be a nice competitor to the Model Y. I just don’t like the color of the press car. That orange is kinda weird. But that’s subjective 😅
