Keep up the good work brother. I actually like that you mention other countries, we should be comparing bc it shows how far behind we are as old as we are 🤦🏾♂️.
Agreed. I think people have problems with comparison because they don't know our history. Everyone speaks of our age but most have not a clue that we led, not only West Africa but most of Africa at one time. Circumstances brought us to this. I keep saying "We Will Rise Again, We Are Liberians ". My time is almost over, the ball is at you young people feet, just you and the goalkeeper, what are you going to do? Take care my friend, be safe.
Thanks for the video. Just came from Liberia like two weeks ago and all the tips you said in this video s exactly what we did. From going to the cement factory to buy a truck load of cement, to the sand/rock sites, etc etc. You need to be on the ground to see for yourself. Thank you so much and keep the good work. Hope more people will subscribe to your channel like I just did.
I like idea that community members should come together and pave the road in their community instead of waiting on government. Nigerian and Ghanaian are doing it, we can do it too.
Can the ministry of planning and public works setup rules to laying out the areas in the country this way people don't continue to building house any how. There should be building standards.
Excellent video! I plan to be an expat and Liberia is county I'm considering. Coming from the States, you are correct, I love the modern look and clean lines. Also, if one African country has great ideas, we should utilize them to make your country better. Its not an insult, when all are African. Rise up Motherland. Rise up. Also, what is the going cost of land these days?
I just came upon your video. It’s clear, with no crazy background music. Your content and presentation are both informative and educational. Thank you thank you
I don’t understand why everyone new house looks like Harry Potter lives there!! Goodness, you are so right about these old-fashioned designs!! And let’s not even begin talking about the interior. Ooh wee, these color combos are horrible. Liberians, it is okay to ask someone to assist you if that is not your expertise. Btw, Youngee is looking good that crispy white shirt and hat. 😀.
My opinion with the homes styles and colors. I think a Liberian home should not be compare to a Western home. Our weather, culture and way of living are different. We typically require outdoors cooking and more outdoors living. As far as colors Liberian embrace vibrant colors, Happy colors in our wardrobes. I think those colors should reflect via our homes tastefully with good quality paints.
I see what u saying If done correctly it can look good and intentional but often time it just looks too amateur…. Secondly tho my sister, these modern homes are not western, they’re African modern designs that fit our climate and weather… I can definitely be African but modernize it because the people have modernize their lifestyle …. What u think ?
@@liberia-totheworld9628 that's true bro, because we need to catch up with the rest of the world and be able to do better so we can be proud of our home Liberia, the world is changing, we need to step up
For me I appreciate what you are doing, because you are helping people like me. we are here and don't know much about what goes on in our own country so you taking the time to go and gather these information and share it is very knowledgeable and I appreciate it , and yes we need to learn from each other I don't feel offended I feel proud Knowing we can get ideas from each other and use it to make our country better.
Please who is your designer? Also do you have an interior designer? I find that many of the Liberian houses have these ugly crazy color tiles in every room 😩
Congratulations on the progress you’ve made with your channel and with the home. It is refreshing to find Liberians sharing stories, experiences, insight and vision. You are appreciated! Will you share with us a list of Liberian retailers for home furnishings, construction materials, etc.. Including retailers from neighboring countries would also be helpful, especially if they deliver to various regions in Liberia.
Nice efforts here bro! Congrats on progress & taking time to share. I love the future proofing/ planing idea u are "preaching" here. Also, u are right about Liberia the melting pot seeking ideas from our neighbors in the Motherland. Road via collaboration is awesome too. My tip to all is going with solar or at least researching the long-term benefits. My sister did & she's loving it, "money well spent & now it's making me money" she says.
Brother you’re doing a good job by advising we Liberian from business, building property, roads, traffic, transportation and traveling tips on Liberia and the list is long but please continue with ur good work brother
Thank you for this topic iit is very helpful and I agree with you about everybody coming together to construct modern roads in the neighbourhoods , I think that will make people homes stand out from the homes that has no pave road.
Like your ides. I would for example look at thatching (local material and done correctly will last long) for roofing. I would also look at solar for electricity. And my personal favorit I’d look at air-cooling, i have seen a solution where you pull air down under ground and cool it before pulling it up in the house you don’t need to cool the air to 20C just some degrees cooler than outside and it would be sufficient. I had a friend living in Buchanan down on waterside they had only AC in the sleeping area and his fathers office the rest of the house was opened shutters and as it was on the waterside beach front you didn’t need any AC for the other areas. And a important thing to the house was a house on pillars (two story) so the sea air blow thru …. I’m aiming to be in Liberia around Xmas 2022 and new year 2023, would be interesting to se your project then…
Quite correct my brother, a good friend connected me with her trusted builder. When I was explaining to him my idea of the simple but elegant, small units with a different style of roof, it took a while for him to catch on. I will visit this year for three months to do research. First time on your channel. Thanks for the video. Some of the shots looks drone footage, do you fly?
Yes! U get to enjoy & use the space too (catch water, install solar, garden, setup sitting area to relax to nice views, security lookout & more) well worth the extra expen$e.
my brother, I love here u talking about the ROADS in the area where u or building homes, how nice of u,,am looking around the area there where the roads are finished to buy there in the, but am going to need your help when,am there, I no it's going to cost me for your help I no,,but if I get a Chance to build there the Roads have to be done in the area as well, am not going to have a nice house in area where the Roads are bad no no
Thanks for your support brother Also . The roof is not so much about the style but more so the material, it’s a recycled plastic mixed with other materials that give it a unique look and lifespan longer then a decade Thanks for watching
@@cocobutterchin6768 thanks for watching The house u see is not just a design online, it’s a design that was done for me by my architect… secondly, I think u miss the point , this video is tips on saving money and things to do when building in Liberia, I use my design as an example of the project I’ve started , this is a series I’m starting, meaning I introduced the design, then follow it with a video of the beginning stage , then so on and so on , I’m a RU-vidr , I need to put videos up every time so breaking it up into series is what I’m doing Thanks for your feedback
Can you please put different zincs on line with their prices. Some roofers are making false estimate for zincs, nails and other building materials because they think the Western world has money trees and people in these countries can just harvest the money. Please help to provide public awareness of these prices..
@@richardsmith2798 hi Please shoot me an email because there’re a few more information we will Like to know prior to a quote However it’s start around $350 for basic
There is no roof that last forever it just a choice of what the homeowner likes. Some people like open floor plans back in the day that was a one room house. What's old is now new. Some like rooms and storage. Some like all things that look the same i prefer differences in structure and not everything looking like a clone.
You are not throwing us under the bus..we need to recognize our mistakes .so I supported Donald Trump when he said,Africa it’s a shit hole ! In my area I’m trying to get everybody together to pave the road people are refusing to do so..telling us , you r the one building A mansion ,so you should pave the road . OK I will;but I’m putting a gate whenever you pass through there you’re gonna pay !
There are very few in the country , but yes , Ghana and Nigeria you’ll have to source material from to save … people in Liberia are middle men , if you’re working on a very big project it may be better going to Ghana to buy from the manufacturer
My family and I, we are in the works to build and complete a house in Liberia but in need of a recommendation of builders in Liberia. Any recommendations will be helpful? Please and thank you.
Hey , I’m looking to build my house in Liberia, do you have any trusted workers? Anyone Architects that you can refer? I’m very serious about this inquiry, thank you so much
I been watching you but I really don't know you, i appreciate what you are doing in Lib. keep up the great work.. I watched you on (Kanganda channel with Oshay Duke Jackson) I like to build a relationship with you and introduce you to what I do. I'm looking forward working with you.
@@liberia-totheworld9628 Thats what I’m saying..like me I’m in the Grand Bassa country area $25 a Blk No negotiation ..Even my clean rock from carwarl 75 a Blk so 6blk 450.00 transportation 400 to deliver,so that’s 850.00 for a truck load lol ..I am stuffing too bad .. don’t even know if it is the right decision.
Most home designs in Liberia looks the same. Almost everyone is building the arch designs. By God's grace, my home design will come from Nigeria. At least is a bit different
When you do not have money to feed the kids, school and hospital fees , it is hard to think about a mordern home. We do not need you to tell us what is wrong with our lives, we know already. Just reassure us that all will be well and do your thing.
