First, let me just say how much I love XAOC Devices modules. Without a doubt, some of my favorites in my entire collection. When it came time to purchase another multi-effects module, the Timiszoara really stood out for me as not only a super powerful FX module, but customizable as well - even moreso than FX Aid, my other favorite multiFX module.
This was the last module I purchased in 2022 (Dec) and while I used it often in various patches this year, I never did sit down and really learn how it worked until recently; even then, I am barely scratching the surface of what this multi-effects DSP module can do. Then along came Deva... it was time to dive in.
I may do a longer format deep-dive into Timi+Deva next year, when I've had more time to learn them completely as this is merely a surface scan.

And that's a wrap! I want to thank every one of you for hanging out and making 2023 such a successful year, not only for this RU-vid thing but also inspiring my own personal and musical growth and, dare I say, bravery to finally "expose myself" to the planet Earth 😁 Much more to come in 2024, so do that socials thing and Like, Share, Subscribe and Ding! See you next year ❣

Great demo of both modules. Kinda crazy how there’s still like no content on Deva lol. Even on the Xaoc site it’s just a video of the guy talking about it not showing it.

so are those attenuators (/-verters?) or offset pots (little ones) on Timi? that bit was confusing. it appears that they acted as offsets.
@VisionsMusicGroup
@VisionsMusicGroup 2 месяца назад
Those are "attenuators" for controlling the input level. I do not believe they represent Offsets.

Excellent video! One remark, the sliders are not attenuators for the CV, they add to the value.

Thanks for the info! This confused me in the manual: "The CV inputs accept 10Vpp. With the slider in the middle position, an incoming ±5V LFO sweeps the entire range. Likewise, with the slider set at minimum, a 10V envelope sweeps the entire range." That makes sense. Not an attenuverter, but a "what is center"? #brainquake

@@VisionsMusicGroup not sure how to understand the question :) I get that the full travel of each slider changes one parameter of the current algorithm in the entire parameter range. Instead of using sliders, you can plug a CV, and it adds to the slider position (as oposed to multiplying which would take place if sliders were attenuators). For example, with slider at 5 the parameter is at half of the range (the center, if you will), and plugging 5V adds 5 to this value. The result is 10 which is the maximum value of the parameter. With slider at 10 you cannot go any higher, hence plugging a positive CV doesn't have any impact (which is a proof it is not scaling). But you can decrease the value by plugging a negative CV. Where is the confusion? :)

@@pe00000001 No confusion anymore, thank you. I'm just used to mostly "attenuation" in knobs/sliders once the CV is jacked in. This seems to behave differently than I am used to, which I now understand.

The jury is still out, but so far it's been fun annoying my neighbors dogs with squealing feedback. I just thought of an excellent use case for Timi's "Combo" bank, since it's isolated L/R effects, using WMD PM mono send/return! I might have found a use for all these things :)
