Kyle takes his mom, Kathy, to the Out of Spec Motoring race track for some fun. Kathy has never been around a track and today was the perfect opportunity! Kyle’s parents were visitng North Carolina from Connecticut in his mother’s Model 3 Standard Range Plus and it was put through its paces sidways in Dyno Mode. Pretty impressive what the baby Model 3 can do when opened up!

@@bazoo513 based on other videos he has done I think he puts on his own set before doing the track. He uses some cheapo $70 chinese ones that he can just burn in a day. Really tires isnt the concern here. Im more concerned with the rotors.

They should really do stuff like this in driver's education. If you learn how to control a car when it's going a little sideways it makes you a better driver. Knowing how to make your car do what you need it to do is a good skill. I'm glad to see that the Model 3 can do this kind of stuff with a built-in mode.

8:28 "Ok. Love you, see you Bye!!!" i literally spit my coffee. I'm fairly certain my mother and father would have reacted the exact same way. I was hoping the DynoTest mode would allow the same drifting as the wheel sensor but retain many of the other features. Good to see that is true.

Is it easier to control the drift in an electric car because you can hear what the tires are doing without engine noise? I know that the precise accelerater control helps.

I'm seriously considering buying the same model. Kyle says this is the Model 3 Standard Plus which has roughly a 260 mile range. Does it make sense to anyone to pay almost $9k more for the long range version for 90 more miles? Plus Kyle always recommends to charge the car more frequent as that normally is faster in the long run. I hope Kyle responds. I think the standard would be fine for me as I probably won't be driving across country anymore. I'm in my late 60's and driving to my vacation condo is 185 miles. Plenty of charging stations there so should be good to go.

@@OutofSpecMotoring Hey , so I finally got track mode v2 ..did some "testing". Feels pretty good, still getting used to transitioning with the open diff and electric power steering. Definitely a challenge! so..I was wondering if you are willing to let me come out to play on the skid pad sometime..I will gladly sign whatever waivers and pay any track usage cost. I have some new wheels and burners on the way, I really want to try some more settings with track mode, so far ive only messed around with stab -10 full rwd. Have you had a chance to play with it yet?

Dyno mode now being discovered makes me sad I was unable to get a long range RWD car when I bought my LR AWD. Any downsides to Dyno mode vs pulling wheel speed sensors? Do you get any straight line wheel spin in the M3P?

Henry Clark u actually lose time off the line with dyno mode due to wheel spin..but for drifting on a track it’s definitely an advantage.

Thank god u had the sense to use dyno mode on a track and not a public road. A bunch of idiots have crashed their model 3s trying out that mode.

Mostly because people lack the skills needed to control a car on the limit. I’ll use Dyno mode for back road blasts only because ESP is too intrusive and track mode is weird. But I can’t recommend someone who isn’t totally comfortable with driving on the limit to do it.

I understand these cars have a lot of weight down low but I would be worried that it would just roll over since I have been in a car when it rolled over and it did not take much. I’ve seen the model X in the sandpit and that’s pretty damn impressive I wonder if anybody’s trying to roll a model three

Don't use dyno mode. You want track mode for driving. Dyno mode has a single purpose and that's for dyno measurements. Using dyno mode for other purposes is unsafe and could damage your tesla.
