The evolution of Phone Went West is a wonder to behold. First couple verses, standard version. Then Jim departs and bends a cover gently to conform, while the rest of the band stays in PWW. Then the two merge for a cathartic, integrated crescendo. Then you scoop your brains up off the floor!
they changed "is there still a lockk on your back door" to "is there still a lock on your heart/your soul" because Jim was horrified that people (myself included 😄) thought this incredible love song was about butt stuff 🤣😂🤣 Is that not the perfect microcosm of the beautiful gentle beacon of light and love Jim is? It's also hilarious
@@joshuamoyer8342 That's awful/hilarious. Hard to imagine that would be anyone's interpretation. I guess "Your ass it draws me in like a Bermuda highway" casts a long shadow...
😂 I thought it was a playful double entendres and maybe a metaphor? They don’t shy away from the sexy songs…I mean Touch me 1 && 2 aren’t very subtle 😂
I’ve never forget my excitement when hearing the lyrics to songbird and shouting to my friends “they’re playing songbird!” For my friends to argue with me “nooo, this is phone went west”😂
This song's really taken on a new life lately. I saw them at Peach Fest and they jammed it into Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine." Every time it's just magnificent. Right there with "Steam Engine."
You know a band has great live shows and you truly love them when you know what colors mean what songs: red=cobra Purple = touch me 2 Orange = mageeta, at dawn, curcuital Blue = OBH & PWW Purple & yellow = highly suspicious Red white & green = Xmas curtain Green & blue = run thru And so on 😂
Being completely honest, I shed tears for this! 🥲🤘🏽🤙🏽🔥😎🔥I haven’t seen Jacket live since Roo 2008 !? Otherworldly, euphoric and it was a much needed one for me 🤙🏽🔥🪐🧨
