Your videos are amazing. I love your low-key approach, it just exudes dedication to excellence on the instrument. Each video is just so packed with information as well as wise guidance on what to focus on and how to focus on it. Thank you so much
Thanks Darryn. I enjoy my mornings of hand exercises . I use yours, Austin Burchams guided hand workout and Mr Igoes great hands dvd . Just steady workouts and I have noticed my accuracy and my dynamics have improved. I am a hobbyist but I think even if you are a professional daily hand workouts focused on technique are essential . Again, many thanks
This is great practice info., it gives us something to shoot for. Also, off subject, I've had conversations with Mr.Tony Savage, the former drummer for Englebert Humperdink and that is the arrangement of the rack tom's compared to the snare and floor tom. I noticed yours has a 4"-6" difference in height. Ideally, I think they should be level from drum hoop to drum hoop. But I guess that would be impossible because of the bass drum height.
Great advice, Darryn. As a Pom myself (never understood why you call us Poms when you're the Poms!!), loved the Test match, but didn't care for the result. Still, I suppose we've got to give you one or you'll all turn into whinging Poms! 😉🏴🏴🏴🏴
...but why DO you practice? I'm serious about this question. I too don't need a day job and am very intent on my drumming goals but the French philosopher side of me keeps getting in the way...
