Thank you so much for sharing your journey! As a psychology undergrad in the U.S. it’s really helpful to hear about different paths and how you can find the career that’s right for you. My goal is to be a LMFT, and I’m a first generation college student just trying to figure this all out! Thank you so much for this video I graduated with a degree in psychology and start my masters in august for clinical mental health, with goals to become a marriage and family therapist. I def. aspire to own a private practice and have been looking for someone who is in the similar field who 1. looks like me and 2. being transparent. Pretty immediately! I was registered and practicing within an agency prior to graduation and had a few years of experience already so it made sense for me!

Hello Simone, I'm new to your channel, and I've watched your videos they are really helpful. However, I have a question that I would like to ask you. What is the pathway to become a psychotherapist in the USA? There are lots of information out there, and it is so confusing. It would be of great help if you could answer this question. Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge.

Hi! From what I understand it’s similar to Canada ( bachelors and then masters in psych or social work), with the addition of having the option to do LMFT as a masters. Once you’re done the schooling part there’s internship hours and a examination before you’re able to be licensed and practice.

hi Simone. I am a current psychology undergrad. I have been finding it hard to decide between doing the thesis or project in psychology. This is mainly because I am not much so interested in the research part of psychology but i heard the thesis opens many doors for you. Could you share your opinion?
