For affiliate club, or potentially like a theme I’d look at either Swansea or Newport (welsh theme) as the manager Garry Monk managed Swansea and played for them for 10 years, along with the CEO of Cambridge Alex Tunbridge previously worked at Newport. So I’d say make Swansea the affiliate club but definitely send a scout to Wales

What about Swansea City as the affiliate? Has the Gary Monk link in with it as he was club captain and managed the team for years and Swans has a load of youth players in the save.

For the affiliate club i’d recommend Wolves - Similar colours to Cambridge with a good chunk of young players in the game who you can loan in Also a loan signing I’d recommend for long term plans Alex Murphy - LCB 64 Rated Newcastle

One rule I always like to abide by is to have a full xi in the youth academy in the formation that one chooses to play to roleplay that there's an actual youth team playing in a youth league. This prevents someone to just have 7 really good wingers or AM's and such, and instead forces someone to make some hard choices. Of course one can put 16 players (I think), so you can have 5 extra players in there still

A Good loan option would be Sammy Braybrooke from Leicester. He's a CM, 63 overall and has only played in the PL2 this season in real life. Would be a good option if you'd want a little bit more quality on the ball in midfield.

For the affiliate club I’d say use Everton because we only have 2 in real life being the Colombian Everton and Sligo rovers but we can’t really loan players to them an you’d be able to sign so great loan players like welch Warrington vigina

For more realism I think the injury frequency and severity need increasing. Otherwise you’ll go the full season without any real injury issues which defeats the point of the series.

What about Sheffield United for an Affiliate Club, they are higher championship club and has alot of talent to loan out 1. Sign (LB) James Morris of Watford: He's 22 and a Pacey Wingback. 2. I think we could do with a permanent younger ST: Antwoine Hackford from Sheffield United, 19 and pacey.

I think a North East London Cub would be appropriate for an affiliate club, so maybe Spurs or West Ham would be a good choice, as they are relatively local to Cambridge.

Ches, when it comes to signing players, I don’t you should sign anyone with a higher potential than the current highest at Cambridge. For example, the best player you could possibly sign is 66 overall with 75 potential (same as Liam Bennett). This is how I do my realistic saves and makes it a better experience

Love the save but I’m going to be honest, there’s three things I think should be changed. One, coaches. Only sign a coach equal or lower than the star rating of the club. This’ll slow growth still, but it’ll also force you to be smart with the money you do have. Second, the youth academy. Always scouting the home country with one scout, and applying the same star rule for scout ability. Lastly, I think that the if you just signed a player that season, you are not allowed to sell them until either the next season or the next window, no matter what. For example, if you land Ted Bishop this season in the January window, you can’t sell or loan him out until the summer window. A full season, if you decide to do that, would mean you can’t have him leave until the next January window at minimum.

Need to do a Derby County save! Clough taking us back to the glory days of 72 & 75. (I was there, you were still a twinkle!) Adding an edit after viewing: That's me! Your 18 year old free agent patron goalkeeper! Ha, I don't look too bad at all, though in real life I was 5'10" with ginger short back and sides hair, big ears that stuck out like the FA cup and lean build. But I could run! Fast and all day, still doing half marathons at aged 58! I played football but not as a keeper (though circa 1976 I saved a penalty at Peartree Juniors school, near the Baseball Ground. Taken by Leighton James of all people, God rest his soul). Two footed, with speed and good tackling, I was either right or left back or if I annoyed the Headmaster, then I played left out altogether. Certainly 55 rated, room to grow and I won't demand too much in wages! Derby fan, loved to have played for them.

Great game save. Whilst you're in lower leages instead of signing no foreign players why not limit yourself to 1 foreign player per season but they have to come from a domestic club? I.e you can sign a player of German nationally but they have to be brought from a club in England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland?

I think you should do a senior club with Swansea for the likes off Gary monk used to play for them and manage them aswell if your making it realistic you shouldn't really go for a top flight club for senior club

72 shot error on CPU seems very heavily in your favour. Affiliated teams: Ipswich or Norwich. Sign/Loan Alex Murphy from Newcastle. Joseph Vegas is a ST.

Question how do you find all the minute details like who’s renewed a contract for how long and who’s been let go all that stuff I can’t find any of that in like a collection unless you spent a while just researching

I believe in each leagues regulations it is required that a team should be having 3 goalkeepers on their team sheet. So, for realism's sake, you should buy a 3rd goalkeeper. Not a starter in my opinion. Stick with Stevens fir at least a season and see how he progresses. As for the affiliate club due to Cambridge being close to the big London boys, try and find an affiliate in that area. Obviously Chelsea and Tottenham have a big pool of players for you to choose from, but maybe a Fulham wouldn't be that bad of a shout. Slightly more realistic you might say. Thus far, this series "has the potential to be special". 😛 Great first episode Ches, keep it up. 🫡

For an affiliate club I would recommend a club like spurs as of the number of players they loan out to lower league club. For signings I would recommend for a backup gk is David Harrington who is 57 rated so he will be a similar player you sold to mk dons For a cm I would recommend is Jordan Brown who is 64 rated from Leyton orient

EA is so awful for not giving the option to turn off getting fired. I played one save as a created team with a financial takeover, made a profit, won the league, made round of 16, and I got fired because I spent too much lol. Haven't played another one since

Id recommend the affilate club being a larger club nearby, so for the younger players getting sent out on loan to cambridge it isnt a culture or huge location switch for them, for example some clubs could be, Norwich (always had a great youth system), Luton (A club which are always looking into the lower leagues for players) and Leicester (also a brilliant youth system)

Closest prem club to Cambridge I saw is luton and it’s still far away I don’t know whether that’s a great senior affiliate or not I thought distance made the most sense

For affiliate club a London club would make sense being them being closest to Cambridge. Tottenham sounds like the best bet they have a good selection of youngsters.

Love this series Ches - love the amount of detail you’re going into. I think that to limit the youth potential to the highest you have is unrealistic. I agree that the 94 potential players are generally a bit out there for this type of save but I think maybe something like a highest current player plus 10% could be more realistic?
