The secret it out! Graeme reveals his most successful beach fishing rig this season, with a tutorial that even gives measurements to aid beginners who might want to start tying up their own fishing rigs. He films it in the sanctuary of The Tackle Shack as the storm rages outside preventing him from going fishing. And of course he has the woodstove going to do a bit of cooking. This might just be one of those shore fishing rigs that gets you a fish or too as well!

Excellent. My younger son age 10 is finding fishing a real passion. I just think a kid needs to know how to put a rig together. He can now put it together learnt to follow instructions and built a bit of confidence. He caught a few Whiting and Dab off Silloth-on-Solway prom last night. Very informative, interesting and well presented video. Many thanks.

Thanks for the video, easier than I thought. I make a lot of rigs at home but live too far away from the sea to use them (disabled wife means I have to stay close to home). Hi Graeme. I Love both your and Mike's Channels. Recently my 2 1/2 year old grandson caught his first bass with his father. I thought he might like watching your channel ...at least for a few minutes as he is always on the GO. Much to my Surprise he Loves watching All your vids form beginning to end..!!! We now have a Tradition of watching your vids before he goes to bed when he stays with us on weekends. Always asks what Mr Graeme up to when we talk on the phone during the week!!! We love All your fishing adventures and he Especially likes your Tackle Shack and your cool new stove..he really liked when Mike had his first visit with you in the New Shack !!! He really likes when you show closeups of your catches and says he likes when you let most of your fish go " back to their friends" in the water. Whenever you catch a bass he says Mr. Graeme catches a bass just like me...!!! Just thought you would like to know you have a very big Young Fisherman Friend & Fan here in the USA..!! Thanks..!!

Hi GRAEME, A gem of a video on my night off. My favourite is your Wessex Rig. Caught so many fish when others haven't on the smaller hook of the two. I have a whole box of that Maxima spool you are using in 12 lb strain. It's fantastic. I was given it a few years ago, all spools are joined together. I use it for Rainbows in the summer. Steve in Fife.
@TAFishing
@TAFishing 4 года назад
I use Maxima chameleon in 5 or 6lb for most of my freshwater fishing..have done for about 40 years...Only other line I like is Ande Premium in clear for sea fishing.Really tough. But each to his own ,luckily I am old school and if it worked years ago I still use it now.
@davejacobs3797

If on the first hook length you used a castgade swivel, the top of the rig then a pully clip down onto the castgade swivel it would be a aerodynamic casting rig. It only needs the hooks to change to make it an all round rig. I've used this for Dabs to Cod for 25yrs. I hope I haven't upset or offended you by my advice on this rig, I just hope it helps other anglers if they wanted a streamline casting rig . Yours faithfully Dave.

I just got back from fishing a Southern beach yesterday,and caught plenty more fish,including 5 small Conger eels on the very rig...I am trying to use it all the time now,with a combo bait of Mackerel and Squid..seems to be working as I am getting a better stamp of fish,rather than using worms.
@michaelknight707

Hi Graeme, this might sound like a very novice question but when you say "tie your main line to the top swivel on the rig" do you just tie a blood knot to the swivel or as I have always done, use a snap swivel tied to the main line and connected to the top swivel, much easier to change rigs if necessary.

Hi. I've been using the same rig for both onshore or offshore fishing. What I've found is this rig do produce good amount of catch, but most of them were small to medium size fish. The big one seems to shy away from it. At least, thats the case on my fishing ground. Are the big ones tend to stay away because of the stealth issue or more about bait? Fyi, i normally use cut bait for this rig. Can we use it with live bait as well?

You can slide a pice off rig tube or shrink tub over you're snood and over the swivel before you put a hook on. Now you created a boom . You can make that boom as long as you like . Mine I make mine around 5 cm /2 inch. Shorten or make you're snoods thicker avoid tangle to. Try it and see what works best . I m fishing most time with 3 snoods on this line. Good luck
